They did a thorough check of the condition of the bike and said it would not be worth changing older parts that still work due to the age of the bike. I was at Tune Cycles the other day for the first time. I can't say I was "in" the place as it's quarantine rules were to stay outside with your bike. I had called ahead to make sure they were doing repairs. I had a shoe clip break off and was stuck in the pedal. I already had one shop tell me they couldn't get it out so I was Tune. I had never heard of the place. The store front is tucked away off the road so you really have to know where you are going to. With a bit of navigating though through the office complex I did find it. I called the number on the glass door and they said leave the bike at the rack outside and someone would come out in a couple minutes to wipe down the bike. With the current virus issue I thought it was a smart way to hand off bikes. I was warned that there was a huge increase in people dropping bikes off and that I was 14th in line. I was told I would probably get it back the next day. 2 hours later though I got a call that they had fixed it. They charged almost nothing and gave me some replacement screws for free. It's a small local place trying their best, that's all I could ask for. read more

I brought a fairly, okay ... very tired road bike in that I got when my son upgraded his ride. It needed attention in many areas. When new it was an entry level road bike, and at this time it was just a tired old steed. The guys passed no judgement and said they'd get it going. And they did just that at a very reasonable price, much less than anticipated. The bike rides great, and they made a minor adjustment 2 weeks later at no additional cost. Really superior old school service in every respect. While they do offer and service the very elite bikes, they also got my tired ride back in running order and humming like almost new. The bike doesn't show much more age than I do. I can't say thanks enough or more highly recommend the whole team at TUNE. When I'm ready to upgrade there's nowhere else I'll consider. I've been using Tune cycles since they opened their doors. No on works on any of bikes but Ethan or one of his staff. All repairs,maintenance, tune ups etc. have always been spot on. OK...weird review. I never actually used Tune Cycles for repair or maintenance, but I did call them to inquire. Turned out they focus on higher-end bikes for more "serious" racer-rider types, not hybrids like my Specialized Sirrus. BUT, Vince was extremely helpful and even gave me some sensible advice about an old custom-made track bike I have. He directed me to other places that could offer me full-service tune-ups and maintenance for my Specialized. So, I have to give credit Tune Cycles (to Vince!) for spending time to give a non-customer such helpful service! Says a lot about him and the business! read more

I was turned away before I got in the front door after driving 35 minutes. I was told "we only work on bikes that people love. Bikes that are high-performance or racing bikes." This happened AFTER I had called earlier in the day, described my bike and what service I needed and was told to bring it in to the shop for evaluation and repair. I have an old mountain bike I love, that I have had for 13 years. I am a full-time traveler so it lives on my bike rack when not in use and periodically it needs tuneup's. The rougher it looks the better off I am so it is not a target for stealing. I was aware this might be it for this bike and wanted an evaluation to know what repair would cost before determining if I would buy a new bike. I called earlier in the day and explained exactly this scenario as well as asking what they thought about bike rack covers. I was told "back rack covers don't work and bring it in - we will take a look at it and see what needs to be done and give it a tuneup if you decide to proceed." I suggested to the person who turned me away at the door, I believe the owner, that they list on Yelp that they only work on racing bikes and high-performance bikes. He said they could not do that. So I'm telling you here so you won't make the same time wasting mistake I did. I have no problem if they only work on certain bites it just would've been nice to know that before I drove out here even more maddening that I had spoken with someone on the phone who confirmed they could work on my bike. Adding insult to time loss, when I explained the phone call and time loss to the person who turned me away he said "well as I said we only work on bikes that people love." In the moment the snarky statement slipped passed me and I said "give what just happened I would not feel comfortable with my bike being worked on by folks who tell me to bring it in and then run out to the parking lot and ask me not to bring it in because it didn't meet their standards"... And his parting words with full condescension I clearly heard, "Well I'm glad you handled this so well." So if you need work done or a new bike do what I did - go to Bicycle Lab in Delray! They are so welcoming and friendly! Happy to talk to you and not insulting or condescending. They did an evaluation for me on the spot and we determined it was time to let the old girl go. I test drove and bought a high-performance new bike, was given several detailed lessens on the particulars of my new bike and made to feel welcome as a customer. So even tough I am now the owner of a bike Tune would repair, after their lack of customer service and insults I will never be their customer. Why in the heck would you treat someone so poorly? I really don't understand. This could have been handled so differently, with respect and care. read more

I had a unique problem with my unique Boardman (9.2) front derailleur. I'd taken the bike to another shop and they said there was a design flaw that could not be repaired and suggested contacting Boardman. I called down to Tune and talked with Vince. He suggested they take a look it, explaining various bikes have various nuance not committing to anything to they took a look. If you are looking for a wide selection of jerseys/bibs/shoes in stock in a show room, this may not be your place. If you need a proper fitting/adjustment/mechanical work etc., this is the right place. I drove all the way from Miami based on recommendations from some respected MIA cyclists, and would gladly do it again. I came in for a fitting, after not getting return phone calls from some of the local shops in Miami for a fitting. Anyway, Vince was great, didn't rush the fitting, didn't push any products on me (though I ended up picking some new parts up), and left feeling with a great feeling bike. Their prices are extremely reasonable, sell quality products, and great service. I ended up also picking up one of their jerseys, along with a new stem, handlebars, helmet (forgot mine at home and this was first stop on a road trip) and bar tape along with the fitting. I wasn't pushed to get the most expensive components either, just the right ones that were extremely reasonably priced. No pushy sales pitches here and very laid back/welcoming environment.
