At the time I was much younger and the store was out of what I could afford but I booked marked it in my mind. Today I walked out with the most beautiful messenger bag. It all felt very full circle with Levi one of the sons helping me with the same energy and customer service that I first experienced so long ago. Could not feel better supporting this family owned local business.

I've been a Filson fan since I bought a beautifully tooled double buckled belt. It started there…read more The quality of their products is uniformly excellent, and their lifetime warranty really means lifetime. Filson stuff can be very expensive, and one does not always get the feeling that something like a $38 t shirt or $55 baseball cap is as laden with value as some of their other products. Today I thought I was just looking -- buy myself an indefensible ball cap - and I ended up buying a new rolling suitcase. Matteo answered all of my questions (like all the staff at the Portland Filson, he is extremely knowledgeable and a genuine help), and we settled on the super-lightweight nylon roller. Weighs half what my Tumi does(10+ pounds to around 6.5) and holds an extra 6 liters (30 to 36 L)! But friends, I am not a wealthy man. However, the item ended up costing only $265 after email signup discount. I say "only" because the price allowed me to give the Tumi to a family member, and get a super lightweight full size carry on. I mention the bag's weight so often because I suffer from a chronic neurological disorder, which means I'm often extremely physically weak and have to rely on nice people to schlep my stuff. Anything I can do by myself makes me feel like my old self, for a moment.

Once I walked into the store I was greeted and asked if I needed anything. I responded by saying no. This is totally fine. Not even 3 mins later, the same guy came and asked me if I needed anything while I was looking at bags, I again said no. The same man AGAIN asked me if I needed anything and I didnt respond. My gosh let people enjoy their shopping experience.

Some of my most comfortable heels have come from Bebe…read more I know what you guys are thinking: "how in the hell can a 5 inch stiletto heel be comfortable?" Well, I do not know why the Bebe heels are so comfortable but they are. The Bebe heels compared to heels from just about everywhere else I have bought heels do not compare in comfort. Those Bebe girls that walk around the store all day wearing the heels will tell you the same thing. I usually only wear my stilettos on the weekend or when I am going out, but when I wear heels, I expect to be able to walk comfortably in them, unlike my friend that buys cheap heels that she can't walk in. It bugs me that we have to take a damn taxi everywhere because she can't walk in her heels. If you are someone that likes to dress up and heels are part of dressing up, Bebe heels are not just super sexy, they are comfortable too.

Like usual, when you're not trying too hard is when you find what you're looking for. I ended up with a great deal on a pair of pants and a shirt that went with a futuristic vibe- think Xenon from Disney. I grabbed them and tried everything on. The pants were big- but since I was only wearing them for a costume I didn't mind. The staff was really friendly at the checkout and I was super pleased with the find. My friends also found a couple items which is always nice!

There are abundant resale choices in the Portland area. I'd say try some other place.
