I feel our appetizer Sat in the window way too long as the cheese curds were melted all the way and at the bottom in a pool with the gravy. Newly opened They have a salad bar. The chili cup went up no longer served with tortilla chips nine dollars a cup, and it was lukewarm. Fried haddock sandwich was not even a quarter of an inch thick. Father day menu was limited but we were grateful that they were also serving from the bunch and regular menu. Food was sub par at best We had a gluten free bun that was overcooked to hard toast and the smash burger was very dry All the fries were cold on every plate and one of our party never got his steak tips after us questioning them several times He finally went to tell them never mind as we had all finished our meals and gotten our checks without him getting his meal but they were just playing it. We were the first ones in the restaurant at approximately 11:30 AM. Six of us ordered our food. At first four of us received our food. Then the fifth received hers the sixth person never received their food. Went upfront to cancel the order and it was being plated so he took it to go. No apologies no explanations and no taking it off the bill. In hindsight, we should've refused it because we were not going directly home and it would've been sitting in the car for the rest of the day. The food was just OK nothing spectacular and all the french fries were cold when they got to our table. Worst service I've ever had in a restaurant in my life. I usually give them every chance they've got because I waitress for 25 years myself so I know things can go wrong but just the fact that she never came to the table to explain anything to us the whole time we were there ruined it. read more

We were waiting for them to reopen and check out the new salad bar etc after them being closed all winter for renovations... walked in ... took 20 mins before anyone even acknowledged we were there to get us a drink.. then 3 girls behind the bar... not one asked us what we wanted to eat or made eye contact.. not until we asked for our bill 40mins later after they gave us drinks.... Then when we said we wanted to eat but we've been waiting for someone to take our order for 40 mins... then they wanted to take our order... nope! Never again .... This is a surprisingly good find as we were traveling from New Hampshire to Massachusetts. First, the decor. The interior is very warm and inviting. Reminds me of a cross between a Texas Roadhouse, a smokehouse, a cozy barn, and a farm. The service is attentive but not overly doting. The menu is expansive and portion sizes are generous, but the quality is what's compelling here. I like all of their smokehouse offerings including the slowly-braised short ribs (with mashed and broccoli), the pulled pork, the Mac n cheese with any number of accompaniments, the burger choices are fabulous, the loaded nachos with anything and everything, the Poutine (a Canadian specialty that you can't find just anywhere), their custom pizzas, and several salads (we had an arugula salad with salmon that was grilled to perfection). The beef chili is about the best I've enjoyed in a while, and very worth ordering as a starter or the large bowl as a main course. The Bloody Mary is topped with everything but the kitchen sink. The deserts are worth staying around for, although doubt you'll have enough room, so take the home! read more

We found this farm to table restaurant and boy was it delicious!! The service was excellent, we went at peak hours and the restaurant was full. Took over an hour for a group of 6 food, but again they were busy and we were in no hurry. They update their menu so that there's always something you might want to try. They had a brisket sandwich done 3-way (sauce, cheese and mayo) which was good. Fries are good as well. Only thing to check are the operating hours. We went on a September Thursday and they close at 8 pm. read more

A friend suggested Tumbledown Farm to Fork to us knowing we would be in the area, riding the Cotton Valley Rail Trail from the eastern end in Sanborville, to western end (Wolfeboro), and back again. Our friend spoke highly about the pizza, but we were in the mood for something different. Because we were super hungry, and nothing on the appetizers list was calling to us that day, we stared with a side of fries. There was nothing special about them, but we were't expecting them to be special. They were simply good/nicely crisped crinkle-cut fries. I had the Fried Haddock Sandwich, and she had the Cedar Plank Salmon. Both were solid fare. Our only complaint--and it's a minor one--was that they are short-staffed. This is a common problem for lots of places these days, so we've learned to be patient, but we felt like our dining experience here took longer than it should have given that we were here between the lunch and dinner rush (around 2:00). The brisket was drowning in what tasted like grocery store BBQ sauce, you couldn't taste the meat. Chicken sandwich was huge and pretty good. Good bacon that's an add on. Great stop for some down-home, meat and potatoes type cooking. Dining outdoors under the tent is always a great experience in the summer, and the service is friendly and attentive. The space has a southern BBQ kind of feel to it and is lively and ideal for a larger group. Inside has your typical barbecue, bar, & grill type. feel to it if you prefer dining indoors. We really enjoyed the brisket, the steak tips, the lobster rolls, fried, asparagus, and the meatloaf. The portions come in two sizes, Gardiner is smaller, and farmer is larger. The larger portions can easily be shared by a couple. The meats are flavorful, wonderful sauces, and the sides complemented the main courses very well. Went out to eat tonight at one of the few restaurants that are still open during the off off season. The food was decent but the portion size was small for the prices. The shrimp scampi risotto had just 6 (maybe size large) shrimp. The homemade fettuccine vodka with grilled chicken was ok. It lacked flavor. Overall every dining establishment the prices are high and we've been getting accustomed to it. And then the prices, Charged $6 extra for a handful of green beans to add to a $32 porterhouse steak. $14 for a small basket of overcooked potato chips. And couldn't split the bill correctly on a 6 person table. None of that was my wife's or mine. They were out of brisket at 6pm, so I ordered the pulled pork, they came back to let me know they were out of that, so had to go with steak tips. Then another 3% to use a credit card. read more

We wanted to love it, but we couldn't find anything that was really right. Our drinks ($9 for a Tito's and diet) were weak. Maybe good since I was starving and there was no bread or popcorn or anything, which I really appreciate at a restaurant. Some of the salad greens were extremely wilted, and I found it weird when we asked what kind of salad dressing they had it looked like the server really had to think about it, and offered ranch, Italian and thousand Island, like really? That can't be it, can it? The"special" pasta was in 2 big clumps, and when we asked about it, the server took it to the manager. When the manager came back, we expected her to to be carrying the second remade plate (it was THAT long) but no she was coming to tell us that if they remake it, it will be the same way because it's fresh pasta. As if it's a given that fresh pasta can only be prepared sticky and in clumps. So my friend went with the baked potato instead, and while we waited I finished my dinner - steak tips and mashed potatoes (decent) but I was charged $2 extra for the wilted greens because I chose that over fries or another side. Seems silly but ok, and ordered dessert. My dessert came when her dinner arrived. The dessert started off great - apple cider donut sundae with chocolate sauce. Well ... They must have microwaved the donut because within 35 seconds of setting it in front of me the donut turned hard as a rock, like literally you could knock on it and I needed to use my streak knife to eat it, still tasted good but the whole thing turned into a mushy mess. Did they take anything off the tab? Not a chance, in fact we were charged an extra 3% for using our debit card. Expensive but valuable lesson learned. read more

I would give a -3 if i could. The place was freezing, when we mentioned it we were told that the staff was not allowed to touch the thermostat The service was sub par at best. The food??? Dont grt me started. The fried chicken was raw, the color inside was magenta! My husband got a burger, asked for medium well and got rare on the insde, burnt on the outside. Three of us got a chicen dish with cherry peppers. Not a bsd flavor, but the chicken was dry and after seeing my brothers raw chicken, my appetite was gone. Had a nice family dinner on a Mexican Monday. My grandaughter got the pulled pork taco's she ate every bite we also had the brisket sandwich. Brisket was lean and very tasty. There's a very demanding bartender who makes you tip her. Tips are earned hunny, and with that attitude you get nothing. She seemed like she was dipping into the supply too. Don't like my bartenders to be drunk. read more
