Enrolling in the Electrical Technician Course has been, without a doubt, one of the best decisions I've ever made. Let me tell you why. First off, the hands-on training in this program is extraordinary. From day one, we were encouraged to roll up our sleeves and dive straight into learning. No endless lectures or theory without application; here, it's all about practical experience. Wiring circuits, troubleshooting systems, learning how to handle real-world tools--it's the kind of training that makes you feel empowered. You don't just learn concepts; you gain the confidence that comes with actually using them. The star of this journey has definitely been Mr Jones the instructor. There's something incredible about learning from someone who not only knows their stuff but has a passion for teaching and genuinely wants every student to succeed. They patiently walk you through each concept, breaking it down into manageable pieces, and then challenge you to think critically and apply what you've learned. The energy they bring to every class is infectious, and it's clear they truly care about us as individuals. It's refreshing to be treated not as a number but as a person with dreams and potential. And I can't talk about UEI without mentioning the phenomenal staff. From the moment I stepped into the building, the warmth of the team made me feel welcome and part of something bigger. I mean, how often do you walk into a place and the receptionist--friendly, efficient, and always with a smile--sets the tone for the whole experience? Shoutout to Mr. D for his unwavering support and encouragement; he's one of those people who always has your back. Even the cleaning staff, who keep the facilities spotless and always share a kind word, contribute to the positive atmosphere of the institute. From not having…read moreprofessors to staff not being by able to do basic math to figure out students needed hours for clinicals and simulations. Also this past semesters NCLEX pass rate is at 68%. That's a lot of money to spend to not be taught correctly to have the skills to pass the boards.

New hobby unlocked (!!!) I had some of the most fun,…read morerelaxing, and engaging time trying pottery with the wheel for the first time a few weeks ago as I celebrated my rotation around the sun. It was a marvelous experience from start to finish, and that's all thanks to the awesome instructor, Corrie, who was super patient and oh so helpful in lending a hand (literally) to give our projects the pep they needed if they were looking a bit sad. The projects started off in the third stage (after being wedged and centered) which was a very nice of them since I heard that the first steps are annoying and time-consuming. They do offer a 4-week pottery class that meets weekly where you get to learn all the stages from start to finish, which I will absolutely sign up for once I'm in the area more consistently. We were able to mold whatever container our hearts (or clay, really) desired. I came in wanting to make a chawan (matcha bowl) and I think the shape turned out much better than anticipated, but I'm afraid it'll shrink in the kiln, oof. Their glazing and firing process will take about 3 weeks after we make our piece, so I've yet to see the final product but will cross my fingers it'll be functional for my daily matcha routine. You get to choose which glaze from a variety of options, and they'll do that step for you. But in the intensive class, you get to paint and do more detailed work, and I got to see some of the finished pieces that were on display after finishing up my piece. It's super inspiring to see the variety of pieces you can make, and I'm already dreaming of other projects to embark on~ What's even better is this studio also offers more than pottery, including painting, dyeing fabrics, sewing, and crochet courses too, all of which I lovelovelove.

Today's (8/10/19) LTC class was far more thorough than your average LTC class. I compared my experience with my sister and she said, "wow, you got to do more and cover more than I did in mine." Thank you to Julie, Mr Ramsey, Mr Grady, Chief Combs, Mr Combs and the rest of the staff I failed to mention. It was a great experience and I promise to send friend yours way who are interested. We went there for our Texas LTC certification and received it, but this center gave us so much more than just the course certification. I now understand the real personal/legal ramifications of being involved in an actual shooting incident, how to safely handle my weapon, alert law officers that I'm legally carrying, when and where to carry, and so much more. I very highly recommend this course to everyone-- even if you don't get an LTC. The trainers really are EPIC!! Epic Training and Tactical defense center is the place to go!
