I signed up for the CPR Saturday class. This company offers many flexible days and times. Kayla did a great job making sure that the class was in engaged and having fun at the same time. Very poorly ran. It shouldn't take 3 hours to train to do CPR/AED for healthcare providers. Two years ago I did this class it was not this long. The instructor was nice but not very good with time. Only 4 of us it shouldn't take 3 hours to complete. American Red Cross' class was 1 hour with 18 people and they had similar, if not better, training. Especially if you're a healthcare provider this should be easy since we renew every 2 years. This should be only 1 hour class especially if it's for renewal. I do not recommend! read more

I normally don't like writing a negative review. They can really hurt a business. But my experience today was disturbing on so many levels. The instructor was about 5-10 minutes late. The room was small (normal for many cpr/first aid classes) but there was no way to be 6 feet apart. No temps were taken. People weren't wearing masks properly, including the instructor. I knew it would not be safe. When I went up to hand my check to the instructor I quietly asked if she could pull her mask up over her nose. She became very loud and aggressive stating she didn't need to. I was going to leave it there but decided I would go ahead and notify the company. Again, I was just trying to make them aware and was not angry or beligerent. I called the number and the person who answered was a bit nicer and apologized that the instructor had been late but then said it's not necessary to wear a mask over the nose and that she was an RN so she knows. She talked strongly for a number of minutes and wouldn't let me get a word in. She said they couldn't reduce the class size and stay in business and that the instructors are covid tested every week and could i say that of my childcare employees. The whole experience was disturbing on so many levels. I have such a hard time believing they are covid testing employees every week (which does not insure an employee is negative between tests) if they don't know the basic science of how a respiratory virus is transmitted. I won't be sending any more employees again. read more

My instructor was Larry Deakins and he was awesome! The course took 1 hr and 24 mins. That includes the hands-on mannequin, video, exam review and exam. The course was $35 for cpr renewal. $45 for initial cpr certification. The class was small and interactive (I had 11 in my class) ranging from dentists, nurses and medical assistants. The facility was clean, and the equipment we used were clean as well. It was a basic overview and hands on experience. If check in on yelp and bring a friend, you get $10 off each person! I thought I needed to get a different certification for a new position I got at a hospital. I was already CPR/AED certified but was initially told I needed to be CPR/BLS certification. So I immediately went online to find a course nearby and signed up here. I prepaid online, then received an email saying the course I had chosen was full and could I pick another day. I was a little surprised since their website specifically says they can accommodate people on "short notice," but inquired about different dates. Soon after that, however, I was informed by my boss that my AED certification would suffice until it expired and I could do BLS the next time around, which is paid for by and done at the hospital. So I responded asking for a refund. I've used Paypal for many transactions, so I know it is possible, quick and easy. I did not receive any answer to my email requesting the refund, I just received an email today from PayPal notifying me of a partial refund, as $10 was taken out for an "admin fee for refund," which is just absurd. I know to send fees through this system is takes a simple click, so charging $10 for "admin fees" is simply poor customer service. read more

Rhonda was my instructor and very knowledgeable and presented information clearly. $30 if you pay cash and tell them the group "code" which is SAVE LIVES. I took my class in Plano off the K Avenue location. I'm only giving it 3 stars because of the number of people they allow in such a small room. I signed up online to take the class weeks in advance and the first time I went (and arrived right on time), was told there were no more seats available and I was welcome to stay if I didn't mind standing the entire time (the room is so small I would have been hovering over someone and standing for over an hour!). There were 2 other women in front of me who were also in this position. Poor mistake since everyone signed up in advance and they know how many chairs they have. I left on the spot. So I re-signed up for the class online to take this week and arrived early to make sure I got a seat. I was the first one to arrive. Not surprisingly, the class was once again over-sold with 2 extra people. This time she had 2 spare chairs that we squeezed in around a table. With it already being elbow-to-elbow at the tables, I then had to share my dummy with one of the extra people that had arrived. Despite arriving first and coming on a different day to avoid this exact, crowded scenario. I don't mind sharing dummies, but when there is very limited space to even switch spaces, it's just ridiculous. If they actually only let 10 people in and let people space out more (rather than having 12 seats and cramming in 14-15 people)...I would have given it 5 stars. read more

That's strange to me that American Heart Association conducts this course in the "fast-moving" manner. This is not some course to learn embroidery or cooking, and I'm sure even these classes will make sure that their students understood the material. The class ended with a test that the whole group took together, with the instructor Justin reading a number of each question for the whole class, and someone from the students answering for others. The rest just needed to put a mark sign against the right answer. There was not enough time to even read the questions and think the answer. How can you be sure the students learned the material? You are supposed to teach an essential skill that might save someone's life. Disappointing. read more

Thankfully I found Texas Heart CPR online/on Yelp and was able to get a pretty solid preview of what to expect. My instructor was Kiwana and she was very straight to the point. There wasn't a lot of extra fluff added to the course. I really appreciated how we went through the course in a really straight forward fashion and there wasn't any distractions. It was a small class of 6 but we all seemed to have some background knowledge of BLS. The course is $40 and $35 if you pay cash. It's $30 cash if you're renewing and you have your about to expire certification card on hand. Class started promptly at 6 PM and ended right at 7:45 PM. I was able to actually have the rest of the night to live my life so I was definitely a fan. This was a great option for me to quickly get my CPR certification again and it was super painless and quick. I'm glad I got this over with and will probably return in 2 years once my certification expires. read more

This class was so much fun. Bryan did an amazing job at keeping it fun but, also making sure we all understood the information. He was personable and friendly and I didn't feel nervous or worried about passing the exam at all. It was inexpensive for the class as well and only took an hour and a half for the full class compared to the advertised three hours. Efficient training that is not boring. The instructor used the repetition technique to help us remember the steps to CPR. First, with the positive. I loved the efficiency of the class. The instructor started on time and we were finished in 2.5 hours. The price cannot be beat! Now, the not so positive. So, I did a day of researching BLS recertification classes and after finding this location, I saw via Yelp reviews that they offer $5 off for checking-in on Yelp or using the code "Save Lives" upon arrival the day of the class. I mentioned both of these items to the instructor who proceeded to be extremely rude and said I was completely incorrect. She also implied that I should have been grateful for the $5 difference in price from paying cash versus credit card. Like I mentioned in the positive section, the price for the class was the lowest I had seen in Dallas. I was just taken aback with how unprofessional the instructor became when I mentioned what I had read on Yelp reviews.
