This is a hair salon that's underrated. They get the job done effectively and with pretty high quality. Most of the negative reviews revolve around wait time which is understandable when they're swamped since their model is walk-ins only. I usually call ahead and ask how long the estimated wait time is for the specific service I'm looking for. Then, they add me to the list and I plan accordingly, showing up around that time. That way, I avoid having to be surprised by a long wait. A lot of times people stop by and leave if it's going to take too long. Calling ahead saves time. Their tea tree experience when they wash your hair is so worth it. It includes a deep scalp massage that's super relaxing. You can get a free one on your first visit by texting "TulsaHair" to 888111. I recently went in for dry styling, which is not a service they have on their website, but they do have it on their menu at the salon. It starts at $15 depending on what you want and how long your hair is. Mine was $30 since I have long hair. Compared to other salons, this is pretty competitive. Adamary was super sweet and helpful despite being the only stylist at the salon at the time. She was multitasking like a boss and easy to talk to. I also noticed she applied heat protecting spray before curling my hair, something that other hair salons easily dismiss. I appreciated her doing tight curls so they'd last longer. I was told it would be 15 min but they skipped me and I had to wait 45 min for an average haircut. The salon is dirty. there is dust and hair everywhere. The hair dresser had a really dirty station. They just are not professional. I asked about the manager and they pointed her out. Pretty sure she is pregnant and she was wearing leggings and a sports bra. Just not appropriate. Hair cuts are good depending on who you get. Place could be cleaner and guest chairs are very worn out. Was very disappointed in one stylist as all she could do is tell me how lovely my haircut is, asked for a style and didn't get it even though she thought she provided one, and then charged me an additional $25 after she processed my card. It wasn't worth the extra and I would have asked for someone else if I had known. Should have been up front on the additional charge. I won't be going back. Made an appointment for a half hour ahead of time. She said it's "perfect" and no problem. Came in and sat to wait for 15 minutes AFTER my appointment. I brought a photo of the type of cut I wanted. An inverted medium bob. She scribbled things down on her sheet of what processes will be done (because I also wanted to color my hair). I agreed on the price (a price of what I believed would bring me a professional job). I discussed with her the type of color I wanted. An underneath color. Blonde on top, red underneath. I wanted to speak with her more about my idea and discuss how much blonde/red ratio I wanted and asked for advice. I think she misunderstood me and thought I was referring to the lightness of the blonde. First mistake, I only brought a photo for the type of cut I wanted and not the color. I ended up with literally a half and half of blonde and red stacked hair. The red reaches up to my temples. Second mistake: hers. One side of my hair was a medium bob. The other side of my hair is a short bob. What....in....the world?? These are professionals! Why 2 stars and not one? Because I was allowed to go back and get a correction on the cut. I wasnt going to risk frying my hair off to correct the wacky dye job. Ive done this before. Lightening a freshly dyed mane of red hair is not smart. So I didnt ask to correct it. So, great I let her turn my wack job hair into a short bob. Needless to say you need to be very prepared to walk a stylist at THC through what you want done to your hair. It's as though they have regular customers and arent challenged very often. Yep, they posted a picture of my hair on their social sites. It sure is real pretty from that angle! Good thing the public has no idea thats also not the hair job I wanted. What's funny? I actually did a much better job chopping off my long hair to an inverted bob than she did. WORST SALON IVE EVER BEEN TOO. i had black box dye in my hair & i had it stripped out. i did it myself so it was uneven. i wanted all blue hair so i had to get a color correction. first mistake - i told them i was tinder headed they said ok & continued to be ruff. i also said if you don't think you can do what i want to my hair please. don't do it. second mistake - i went in for a color correction & it looked uneven & she said it was the lighting. no it was my hair. third mistake - i told her i wanted my hair a indigo maybe sky royal blue. she made it BLUE BLACK & GREEN. it's also 3 different colors & uneven. forth mistake - she kept seeing i was in pain & continued to do whatever she wanted fifth mistake - they all acted like they had somewhere better to be & rushed me & had to worse attitudes sixth mistake - i made signs that i didn't like it or i was in pain like sighing & grunting & making comments. THEY STILL CONTINUED TO DO IT. seventh mistake - they gave me color care shampoo and conditioner, they told me they would put blue hair dye in my conditioner so every time i washed my hair it would put more color into it. & THEY DIDNT. if there was a no star rate id give it. But expect a long wait because you will be waiting on a hairdresser to cut your hair but they are waiting on a customer who is late for their scheduled appointment and then when they finally get you in the chair because the customer with the appointment is 20 minutes the customer will come in and scream about not being able to be seated immediately despite having an appointment and then you the customer have to be put on hold while your hairdresser deals with the screaming person. Its a very nice salon with decent hair products. I got there to get my haircut, I didn't like the result, also administration definitely wasn't respectful about time management. I came on time but had to wait another 15 minutes. When the hairdresser told me that I am good to go, my hair was still wet and it was freezing in Tulsa. I explained to her that I won't go with wet hair outside, and all I heard is "sorry, next client is already here, you should be good". $19 won't worth the experience and attitude. I used to go there often everytime I visit Tulsa but probably this would be my last visit. It's almost with a heavy heart I have to leave a bad review on this place. Been coming here for years, most of the gals know my name when I walk in, I tip 12-20$ on an 18$ haircut every 2 weeks. Today I went in and was told the wait would be 10 minutes, maybe 20 if some call aheads came in early. Which they did.. 45 minutes later I'm sitting there watching "call aheads" just storm in front of me. If you can't get to me for an hour, tell me so I can come back another time. Anyway after 45 minutes the manager calls the next person, nope not me. Myself and another gentlemen had enough of her 10-20 minute wait crap. I am LIVID. I called two days prior and explained my hair situation and they made it seem as if they completely understood and gave me a quote of $130... so yesterday I made an appointment and described my hair problem for the SECOND time and got the same price told to me. I got in there and they told me they didn't hear me and thought I just wanted my roots done and then charged me two hundred dollars. The girl who did my hair was name Lexi Alexis or something I can't even remember right now I'm so mad. She was not attentive whatsoever!!! I was wearing a mask the whole time and asked her if it would mess up my hair because of the black dye in my mask or the placement of the mask around my ears and she reassured me it would be fine. She barely spoke to me, left me with my head in the hair washing bowl for three hours which resulted in my neck HURTING SO BAD. And by the end of it I just wanted to come home. When I got home I found a CHUNK of black hair right where my mask straps were. I can't wait to be back in Oregon where I can get a REAL hairdresser who is considerate and properly do my god damn hair right. I'm literally bawling. It was a waste of money and time!!! DO NOT GO HERE if you want someone to actually care for your hair, and not rush around the shop doing gods know what. I've had nothing but amazing service here. I've been specifically using Haley to cut my hair now for almost 3 years. She is friendly and very particular about cutting hair and making sure it looks great. I do call in ahead but still have to wait sometimes but that's because they are trying to accommodate both walk-ins and call-ins. I feel like this system could use some work but it doesn't bother me to the point of madness. Every time I've come in I've always been greeted. Someone on the floor stops what they are doing to check me. I've had one of the other workers cut my hair a couple of times but I only have them do a clean up. Not the full thing. I normally go to their Riverside location but the 2 times I went to Brookside were awful. The first time I was the only customer there and just got a cut and after I kept feeling self conscious that spots were missed and uneven but convinced myself I was imagining things until I saw my normal girl on Riverside and she immediately asked who'd cut my hair (she asked if I'd let a friend do it or something). The second and last time I went in I had an appointment (15min call ahead). I got there and there was a woman and man waiting and 4 employees. One girl proceeded to call the guy to the chair and the other three hung out with her and gossiped while she did his hair cut. Me and the lady waited for about 30 minutes. They finished that guy then had a walk in guy that they took immediately back and did the same thing (1 worked 3 hung out and talked) me and the lady both left after about 45minutes of them not acknowledging us or starting our cuts after we'd checked in upon arrival. read more

I was disappointed with my visit here. My cut was fine but the service was lacking, at least with the stylist I had. She was nice at first but when she asked if I liked my cut, I told her to take a bit more off of the top, and she was absolutely disgusted. She rolled her eyes and sighed. She told me to tell her to cut it to that length before she started cutting, but I didn't know I wouldn't like it, like anyone else.
