This small upscale nail salon is clean, professional and friendly. They have a full menu of services including massage and waxing. This is my go to for gel manicures & pedicures. I've also done eyebrow and upper lip waxing. They use the highest quality products and unlike most salons they take their time with each customer so you never feel rushed. They use disposable tools for each individual customer and thoroughly sanitize after each customer. Face masks and gloves are worn by the entire staff. Appointments are greatly suggested but not always necessary if you don't mind waiting a few minutes. The prices are reasonable for the quality of service and care you receive. The owner is always welcoming and knows most customers by name, after your first visit you feel like family. Huge selection of nail polish colors and brands. read more

UPDATE! I had walked in today and let the ladies know what had happened and without hesitation they fixed it. They said this had never happened before especially with such a popular color... but nevertheless they removed the gel and applied a different color and my nails look great. Michelle was very sweet and professional and took her time on my nails. It holds true that this is by far the most sanitary nail salon I have been to in Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights and perhaps I'm just that one in a million to have their nails change color after a gel application. Anyways, thank you Michelle for taking the time out today to correct my nails. They look wonderful! read more

I've been commi g her for quick manicures and pedicures. Lately I've been getting gel manicures. They never last and start lifting off after a week. I recently got a sns powder which the owner did for me. She didn't bother to push my cuticles up and I walked out w a crooked nail. The sns wasn't applied all they way to the top of my nail and there wasn't any shine to my nail I paid over 40 dollars for the sns. I drove away upset then decided to come back and ask her to fix it. It seemed like I was such an inconvenience to her. She caked on more sns on top so now my nails look super thick. Even my husband realized when he saw my nails. He immediately asked if I tried doing my nails myself. I went to dinner with my friends and they also noticed my nails were clumpy and had no shine. This salon has been consistently sloppy with thier work and it seems like an inconvenience when I ask for how I like my nails. They also clearly talk about you in a foreign language while working with you. It's safe to say I won't be returning and won't be recommending this place to anyone. I had to go to another salon to fix my nails the next morning. I rather go up a couple more blocks to get quality work at another salon. read more

I've been here a few different times bc it's so close to my apt, but I'm done. Save your money, go somewhere else (esp if it's the woman w/ purple hair). Stars deducted for each bad experience... 1st time, massage chair didn't work and when I got home I noticed that none of the sides of my nails had polish. 2nd time...lady (purple hair) cutting my cuticles cut me and my toe wouldn't stop bleeding. 3rd and last time...pedicure was phenomenal (young Spanish girl is really good). Don't understand why, but she couldn't do my mani, and I ended up with the woman with purple hair again (oh boy...). The mani polish was streaky, and there were obvious blank spots along the front edge of the nail. I asked her to fix, and she did it but then she messed up one the other nails. I'm drying and realized the right thumb shape was crooked. I had to fix the shape myself and ask for a top coat one more time. I am paying for a service...if I need to pick up the tool to do it myself....something isn't right. read more

I should've trusted my instinct and not walk into this mediocre nail salon. But I was in need of a fast manicure and that's exactly what I got. My technician was so fast, she over cut the cuticles on most of my fingers, left bubbles on my nails after applying the nail polish and didn't even shape my nails with equal length and to the shape I wanted. I was so disturbed by the job she did (I didn't even get her name, but she had short hair that was light colored hair) that I couldn't get out of there fast enough. I get my nails done regularly and for $10, it wasn't even worth it. Dashing Diva is my go to nail salon, but there are better nail salons in the Bay Ridge area that won't butcher your nails. The only reason why I have more than one star is because at lease they appear clean. read more

I finally got time to have a pedicure and was drawn to this new salon that is really close to my apartment. The owner of the salon, Jenny, graciously greeted me as I walked in. The salon is clean and the staff is courteous. She explained how all the tools are sanitized and all the products that are used for pedicure. I had a very good conversation with her while having my pedicure. She is a very nice person. They are now offering 10% off for new opening. That makes their pedi $17 for the time being. I don't know when they will go back to their regular price, which is $19, but $17 for a nice pedi for the holidays is not half bad. read more

The cleanest nail salon I've visited in the Bay Ridge Area! A regular manicure is 10$ and a regular pedicure is 19$. But there is a 2$ upcharge depending on which nail polish you decide on. I really liked that my nail technician gave me small massages on my feet/calves, my hands and my upper back. (Some salons skip this and it just ruins the whole experience.) FYI, a gel pedicure would cost 45$. They do have a menu with the details of what is included in this cost. Be sure to look at the menu book. Today must have been a good day because everyone seemed in a good mood despite the gloomy weather. LOL. Results: my manicure and pedi were done really well! I'm constantly using my hands at work since I work with young kids, so my nails look beat up most of the time. Although, the pricing for this place is a bit higher than those around the area, I'd still come back because I'm sure I will be happy with the results. They do small details like putting wax on your heel as they apply the polish. I paid by credit card with the total being 31$. But because I was paying by credit card, i was informed that I would be paying the "tax". So, my total bill ended up being $32.47. I had cash to pay the tip and ended up giving her $5. I couldn't tell if she was happy or mad about this 5$ because she just didn't smile or look at me when I gave it to her. Ha! They have two TV's to keep you amused. There are 4 pedicure stations and 4 nail stations. I believe they also do waxing! read more

Terrible experience. It was my first time in and I was given a trainee. It took nearly three hours for a pedicure and gel manicure. Apparently they don't care much about impressing new clients. I have been getting gel manicures for almost three years and I recently removed my gel while I was moving. When I went into this salon and they applied the gel polish, and I put my hands in the UV light it burned. A woman who I believe was the owner told me my nails were thin. Yeah, that's helpful. Normally my nails are in great condition. I admit that I hadn't taken great care of them as of late but they didn't need to just rudely blame me. It just added insult to injury. When the trainee was clipping my cuticles, she didn't merely clean them up, she literally kept cutting away all around the nail bed for about 10 minutes. I wish I had stopped her. 1 1/2 weeks later and my cuticles are peeling and look angry and awful. I won't even be giving this place a second chance. read more

We all have bad days but the owner of this place has a TERRIBLE attitude. She is not endearing or welcoming and a business's ambiance should not be based on the owners mood. I went for a gel mani and pedi and was very pleased by the kind technician I was tended by. The owner seemed annoyed by a question I asked and was bothered by the ring of my phone. read more

Very clean salon. Felt safe during COVID. I have been going to her for my nails for 4 years. Staff is always pleasant. Highly recommend.

Every time I come here I always enjoy my time here. They put a lot of effort into doing your toes and nails, prices are great and the staff is super friendly and you feel comfortable. It's clean and they are taking precautionary measures when it comes to covid 19. I moved out of Brooklyn and I travel all the way from Yonkers just to go to this nail salon. It's worth it guys !! read more

Staff with the worst attitude ever! They fired the one and only sweet girl in that nail salon which is the reason why I would even go. When my friend called to ask about prices the MANAGER/owner hung up on her and when she called back she rudely said "I'm busy I do not have time to deal with you" very unprofessional poor nail job unsanitary. Find a new place TRUST ME. read more

After coming here on 3 separate occasions and having good experiences each time, this place deserves a review. They're always friendly and the place is very clean. I usually get a regular mani/pedi, but I've noticed that for a few extra $$ you can pamper yourself with a special pedicure. They definitely want to make sure you leave satisfied with whatever service you requested and they take their time with you. read more

Love this place so much ! very friendly and efficient stuff! Using them from day one from Grand Opening! Highly recommend!!!

A tad (just a few dollars) more per service than the average salon and completely worth it. In Bay Ridge there is a nail salon, it seems, every block! But I always come to Tulip. Its quiet. Its clean. It's calm. They NEVER rush you. And when you pop in to see if someone is available, they will be honest with how much time. A lot of places will say "five minutes" then you sit there stewing for 25! The ladies all know what they are doing and are very accommodating, taking your shoes and making sure you are comfortable in your chair. They take their time which makes it super relaxing. And they all speak English which helps to convey what you want. Highly recommend!! read more

Love this nail salon. It is very clean and it has a good selection of polishes. Hygiene is definitely important at Tulip and as a customer I appreciate it. The manicurists are very friendly and good at their craft. A bit pricier than competition in the neighborhood but if you want good service and no skin issues I highly suggest it. read more

I wish I could give this place 10 stars. Its very clean place. I have never seen any clean salon like this. Very neat place. I am very impressed with their clean environment and cleaning at the end of the shift. Its worth your time to come here to spend on nails. Good polish nail choice. Great colors. Just come and yourself read more

So, like everyone stated this place is pricier than the neighborhood norm. I decided to try it out and to my surprise, my manicurist was probably a trainee. All she did was remove my toes' polish twice and lotion me up and put on the new polish, when we got to my manicure, I had to ask her if she was going to buff and file my nails because she did the exact same procedure with no filing or cleaning to my nails. At that point I was already pissed... She then started interrupting the conversations of her coworker with another client... Extremely unprofessional for the price I am paying. Oh, I also got some burning from the heat from the drying fan on my feet. Bottom line is I had a horrible experience here and they definitely lost a customer. read more

I came here a couple times before and they were fine although the last time I came in with my boyfriends daughter who is 5 and they charged me almost as much as her for a pedicure and didn't do anything to make it special. Wouldn't let her use the massage chair, didn't use any water, charged me extra because she wanted more than one color and got upset when we had to go potty because our nails weren't dry! She's 5! We got to go when we got to go!!! Unreal!! It should always be a fun experience and I was very displeased. They seemed to be too bothered. Very dissatisfied. read more

Manicurist was good but polish inferior quality. Pricey compared to neighborhood standards.

Got a gift card for my birthday from my friend who highly recommended this salon. Had a Wow experience for my first visit for my Manicure and massage. The environment and setting was extremely relax and pleasant. I like the way they use disposable manicure kit, which I understand they charged a little bit more compare to my old salon. Hygiene is the priority for me not catching anything from sharing tools with other patrons, so paying a little more makes every penny worthwhile. The staff who did my massage was super friendly and makes me welcomed. My body felt so relax and a lot less tense after the massage. I would definitely come back in two weeks. read more

First time here. Over priced for an average job. The place is clean..I give them that. Otherwise, it's not worth the extra $10 versus other places in the neighborhood. read more

I was charged $47.00for a manicure and pedicure and was than yelled at by the lady that I had to leave her a 15% tip and nothing less . Never coming back here read more

Never going back! Sorry not sorry! I only would go because it's a near my home. Every single time I went I would say I'm never coming back but this last time really sealed the deal. Side note -- I read other reviews before posting mine and there is a similar one talking about this tip issue. Keep reading.... I sat down with a nail tech and she was doing a nice job until another girl walked in and said that she would only do her manicure with her. The girl said she would wait until she was done with me. The nail tech only filed my nails and said that she needed to stop because she had a customer which was the girl I'm referring to. All I thought to myself was OH am I not a customer??? It's as if she was doing my nails as a favor and the other lady was paying her. She told me she had to go with her because Jenny said something to her in their language (of this I'm sure). Another nail tech came to finish my manicure & when it came time to pay (listen to this part) she didn't like her tip and retuned it to me. I replied asking wait did I pay the tip on my card? And she said no I need to give her more tip because it's 15%. I said to her "repeat that again" and she did and I told her tipping was what a customer feels and I wasn't going to give more and she continued to return the money so I would give her a larger tip. We continued back and forth until I told her "this is your tip - have a nice day" I've never heard of a place tell you how much to tip! It's very unprofessional and demanding, Jenny has a bad attitude as well. It just came off like the techs don't get paid a lot there with is unfortunate. read more

Best nail salon in bayridge !!! Very clean staff is very friendly and kind wait time isn't that bad. My nails always look great after getting them done here would recommend to anyone looking for a nail salon price is very reasonable overall the best nail salon read more

I have been here at least 8 or more times since they opened b/c its close to my home. Today I was there after closing hours finishing a mani and pedi with my daughter. I paid and gave a $5 tip and then Jenny said that I MUST give at least 15 to 20%. That is the customary tipping, she said. But 15% of $29 is $4.35. Jenny and my manicurist argued with me and Jenny said if I don't give her the tip then she has to give it to her. I told her that a tip is optional and not obligated and I thought that a $5 tip was generous considering she cut my cuticle and made it bleed on my big toe. Jenny actually ARGUED with me! I was in shock. A couple of weeks ago I did an extra treatment on my feet for rough skin and somehow the liquid went on the top of my foot and burnt my skin and I told her but still went back because everyone makes mistakes. Will not go back again!!! I know Jenny said something because no one else was in the Salon, had more people been there she wouldn't. I asked her why is this an issue now and not in the past? I have been tipping $5 every time I go and she ignored me and said you should tip 15% which I tipped 20%. NEVER GOING BACK! Plenty of places in Bay Ridge, ladies skip this one and save some money they are too expensive anyway. FYI this is my first review thats how strongly I feel offended and the need to say something about someone. Good Day! read more
