The sandwiches are unheard of, they have a vast variety of subs for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I had a chicken cutlet with prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, and vodka sauce on a garlic hero. Very delicious and very, very filling. They don't skimp on the subs. It's $15 plus you get a mouth full and then you save the other half and fill on that later. Your choice. I tried to eat the entire sub but two bites out of the second half. I can't go no more; I can't go no more. The service is awesome and the cashier is very personable with stories and laughs. The other customers are very respectful and courteous. If I ever need to do a catering event, this is most definitely the place I will use. They know what they are doing here. I went to Tulip Deli on two separate occasions and had two completely different experiences -- one decent, one terrible. The first time I went (on a Friday evening), I ordered a Greek salad and had a good experience. The worker was polite, asked if I was okay with all the ingredients, and made sure I got what I wanted -- no chicken, dressing on the side, etc. He even chopped the salad for me without me asking, which I appreciated. The salad was pretty good, just heavy on the olives, but overall I left satisfied enough to come back a second time. The salad was listed as $13.99, but I was charged $15.82 -- which felt overpriced for what it was, but I let it slide since the portion was large. Then I went back on Sunday, and it was a completely different story. Two different workers were there, neither greeted me or said hello. I told them I wanted a Greek salad with no olives and no chicken. One of them immediately went to add chicken, and when I reminded him "no chicken, no olives," he said the olives were already in there. The other worker said, "It comes with olives," and they didn't bother to make it right. When I got my salad, it was barely 20% lettuce and mostly huge chunks of tomato and onion -- not chopped, not tossed, and not at all like the first one I had. It was honestly frustrating and disappointing, especially after paying over $15 again. I decided to call and let the owner know -- not to get a refund, just to share my experience. Instead of listening, he cut me off mid-sentence and talked over me, saying, "Lady, I rang you up -- that's how we make our salads." He went on about how he's been there 40 years and no one has ever complained, and basically dismissed everything I was saying. When I finally got a chance to speak, I explained that I only called because I had two completely different experiences within two days. He eventually said he'd "make sure his workers ask customers if they want it chopped," but in a very sarcastic, passive way. The way I was spoken to on the phone was rude and unprofessional. I've lived in this area for over 25 years, and this was my first time trying Tulip Deli -- and unfortunately, it'll also be my last. Maybe others have had better experiences, but for me, between the inconsistent food quality, overpriced salad, and dismissive customer service, I can't recommend this place. read more

So for Admin day my supervisor ordered a medium ceaser salad and for$40 this is what they call a salad it just had lettuce not even enough cheese just sprinkle on top. I've been going to Tulip Caterers for the last few years & it's been a great experience every time we go. From the food to the workers, the food is always fresh & the workers always kind. Yesterday we had an order for breakfast delivered to my home, & it was the best breakfast we had outside of me cooking it myself. The wonderful & sweet lady on the other end taking my order to whomever made all the sandwiches did an amazing job! I don't know if Vinny or Tommy who made them, but they were fantastic!! They are all so kind to me & my family, & Vinny & his family are always so inviting! With our Bacon egg & cheese sandwiches we ordered their ice cold homemade Ice tea and their lemonade, & they were amazing as well! We have ordered dinner there as well but yesterday's breakfast compare's to any Diner, Restaurant or IHOP you may know! We are from out of town, and everywhere we went- had to be walking distance. Tulip caterers and deli caught our eye and we searched their site/yelp to see what was good. We ordered 2 hero's, the Rizzuto, and Joe the lawyer. Both were incredible! We ordered the Pompeii panini, and it was also very very good. The Greek salad with chicken was ok: a little too much dressing, and not enough dill/onion/olives (black used although kalamata would be better) we ordered 2 kids meals, and I thought they would be similar to their "famous" honey mustard chicken tenders they advertise- no. They were very pre-packaged chicken nuggets that were fine- but sort of a let down. We ordered a side of their slaw, and I'm not a slaw person- it was really good. Finally, a small seafood bisque. I would have given 5 stars, but the salad, the chicken nuggets, and then... the bisque. They use imitation crab in it, and it was just eh. I wasn't excited one bit by that- and didn't really see any seafood that I recognized; in example, no shrimp, or real crab, or other fish I could name. I didn't even finish it. The people working were kind. I don't know if they offer a half hero; however just be aware- they are huge. One hero can easily feed 2-3 depending on how hungry a person is. This past weekend they catered my company fishing trip, Mr G heros Italian and American as well as Multiple cold cut platters that were laid out perfectly. Vinny was so understanding about everything having to be individually wrapped due to Covid-19 precautions. Delivery by Dino was on time and professional. The food itself was delicious and plentiful. I hate giving bad reviews but I get deli lunch pretty frequently as a construction worker. I've been eyeing this deli for a while, looks good from the outside which is usually a good indication. After some careful review I decide to get the Spiros hero. Chicken cutlet, mozzarella, hot peppers, bacon, vodka sauce. Because honestly who doesn't like a sandwich with vodka sauce on it. He makes the entire sandwich and then tells me oh we don't have vodka sauce. Are you kidding me? I don't want to substitute with anything but reluctantly substitute it with marinara sauce which I'm not fond of since this is taking forever. So I get to the register and go to pay and it rings up with a drink and chips as $53 and change. Obviously a mistake. But then the register doesn't work so now we're just doing math in our heads. Nobody told me that I was going to have to do math at this deli, but apparently I don't have to because the cashiers A savant...At this point I just want to get out of here. Now I've already waited a while and waited for the register so I'm on my way back to my job site eating in the car because lunch breaks don't last forever. So I'm still fairly juiced about the sandwich because I'm starving. Now I bite into it and it seems weird. Oh I know, there's no Hot peppers on here. 0-3 so far. Now I eat more, turns out that there's no bacon on the sandwich either. So my chicken cutlet, bacon, mozzarella, vodka sauce, hot pepper sandwich is now just chicken Parm. Seems like I should've gotten charge for chicken Parm, but it's not chicken Parm. There's cheddar cheese on this. Sick. At least I can put the potato chips on to balance it out I suppose. What a monumentally disappointing sandwich, experience and deli. Drive down Franklin Avenue a little bit if you want something good you can go to Harvest. I hosted a teacher/staff appreciation breakfast for a school. First off Tulip delivered the food exactly at the time that I needed it which was for 7:15am. They not only supplied me with the trays, sternos and racks they set everything up for me. The food was delicious, the menu was amazing getting a little of everything from bagels, croissants, fruit to coffee and juice. He included everything from paper goods, utensils, napkins, cups to butter, jelly cream cheese. Everything from boars head cold cuts to homemade salads and everything in between is fresh and delicious. The interior is nothing to opulent however the sandwiches that they create are quite spectacular. All salads are homemade and you can tell that they are made with love.
