This has got to be the best service we have had in canada and some phenomenal food as well. Abhi is extremely friendly, good with recommendations, and is super easy to talk to. He also was able to juggle holding a conversation with us while helping people when they needed it. Most people's recomendations at other restraunts usually seem half hearted but his seemed strong and genuine. We got the fried rice and grandma's curry. Im.not usually a curry person but this was great. It had a mix of strong flavors that worked well together like the sweetness of the palmigranite seeds or the slow cooked chickpeas. For the fried rice it was super savory and worked really well with the sauce and vegan chicken. We were full from the first meal so we had to store the rest for later. He said it was wven better the next day and I actually might think he was right. The next day we came back for the sampler platter. Each one was pretty good on its own and our favorite was the tofu butter Masala. Even though the sampler platter was good the first two meals were our favorite. This is one of the top places to go in montreal.

This is a newish vegan Indian spot that opened up just 8 months ago (Feb 2023). You're greeted with the fragrance of burning incense when stepping in. You can tell that a lot of heart and intention was put into the decor which is welcoming and visually appealing. My friend was recommended the thali plate by the server and it's a generous portion for lunch. I went with the butter chicken which is one of the non spicy options on the menu. For a vegan butter chicken, I think it did quite well! I liked the chewy texture of the chicken substitute and the sauce was sweet and not spicy. It was enough sauce to go with all the rice and the chapati. The salad had a tiny bit of spiciness but just right for me. The thali plate offered an assortment of Dahl, tofu curry, potatoes, a mango dessert, salad, chapati, and cabbage with rice and a crispy papadum. An extra special touch was that the owner came out to greet each of the tables and he asked about our experience and graciously welcomed us to come again.

Tula is a rare gem! I wish we had a plant base Indian restaurant like Tula in Salt Lake City, Utah. We were in Montreal 6 days and I ate here 3 lunches. It is absolutely delicious and healthy. Finding a restaurant where the owner cares about his patrons is rare. Abhi (I hope i got the owners name right) is so kind and goes out of his way to explain the dishes and makes you feel very welcome. The first day I ordered Lentil Idis with Samba and Chutney. My husband had the Brunch Platter. Everything was amazing and different than any Indian restaurant we had been before. I went back a few days later and had Grandma's Special Coconut Curry with Veggies and the GF Chapati. The curry was loaded with yummy veggies. I enjoyed it so much that I went again 2 days later for Grandma's curry!! You must try this restaurant!!

Having tried their food before as delivery, I wanted to get a feel of the restaurant too. It was a small place but it had a welcoming feeling to it, from the faux plant decorations and dim light ambience, soft music... There's still some maturing to be done. The owner was sort of running around trying a bit too much to sell the concept to people, enumerating every item in the menu and being sort of all over the place. That's really my only complaint. The food was delicious although next time I will go with the non-faux meats and opt for simple proteins like tofu, and jackfruit which would work best with Indian dishes.

Dessert!

One of the best vegan places to eat in Montreal. Don't miss it. Amazing menu, service and quality of food. The vibe of this place is very different and you will leave very relaxed. Well designed interior, music and food makes this place a 5/5.

Excellent food! Very authentic food preparation. Didn't try the various vegan "meat" dishes, but I would imagine it would be good.

I really enjoyed my meal here. I had just arrived in Montreal QC on a long haul flight, and…read morecouldn't check into my hotel yet and found this gem just around the corner. The matcha latte with almond milk really woke me up. And i was hungry and needing some vegan protein, since the airline food I got was mostly salad. Their braised tofu with a lovely optional creamy coriander sauce, and cooked with mixed vegetables absolutely hit the spot. It was served with warm fluffy basmati rice. The tofu serving was substantial, the braising sauce was very tasty, and the tofu was firm and chewy and filled with saucey flavor. The optional coriander creme sauce and fresh limes were a great complement to the braising sauce. Around me i could see servings of chili, their vegan poutine fries, and the chesesteak come out of the kitchen, and noticed other tables were also complementing their food. I finished with a tangy lemon tart slice and vegan whipped cream - very nice. The tables are fairly close together as it's in town center. They've got several two top tables. This was great for me as a lone traveler, as I easily struck up a conversation with the couple sat on the table next to me, and we had a great chat about how good the restaurant was and then everything under the sun. They were there to celebrate a birthday and the friendly owner who'd come over to talk to them a few times, sent them home with an extra dessert. A thoroughly enjoyable experience. I plan to go back during my week here and try some other dishes.

Very cozy, perhaps too cozy... I made reservation and I am glad I did as it was packed inside. I ordered the cheesesteak sandwich with the side salad. The sandwich was great, the "cheese" was a cashew style cheese. The "meat" was also perfectly marinated, 5/5. The side salad was leafy greens and pumpkin seeds. The vinegarette was balsamic, it was good but the salad did not have a lot of dressing on it, 4/5. Service was prompt and courteous. Prices are decent. Definitely recommend

My friends and I went for the buffet after practice and it was perfect. The food was warm and we ate enough for the price. My plate was around $17 and I was very full by the end of it. The food is warm and delicious. Some stuff was missing since it was very close to closing but that's ok. I do wish the dessert was included in the price (it's a separate weight fee). The restaurant is big (the buffet is upstairs) so there's enough seating if you go with a group. It's always nice to add another vegetarian/vegan restaurant to my list of recommendations!

It reminded me of cities in Europe where this is very common (think Scandinavia or Switzerland.) It wasn't fully vegan but there were plenty of vegan options and they were all well-labeled. As is usual for a buffet, it's hard to not go too 'all-in' when you first start loading up your plate. Everything will look good and you want to try it all. The staff was really helpful when we arrived, explaining any of the little details about how their particular service works. And there was A LOT of seating, so this is a good option if you have a somewhat larger group. My partner and I got a view overlooking the bottom floor and outside and it was perfect.

There are tables throughout the cafe as well as some couches and you'll see cat toys and beds spread throughout. This time, I ordered the yogurt which came with granola, honey and jam. My breakfast was yummy as well as a Diet Coke. My dad ordered a grilled cheese panini with salad and vinaigrette which was also good, and my step mom ordered La Pèle-méle, a curry seasoned cauliflower dish with chickpeas vegetables and pecans which was the best in my opinion. My step sister ordered the banana pudding which she loves. Personally, I think the food is a little expensive for the quality, but my family and I are happy to come in and support this longstanding business that cares for their kitties. There's a little shop inside with cat toys, accessories and food, so you can pick up anything you might need for your furry friend at home.
