We had previously used this service for many years with no complaints, but last year they came one time and then said we owed them a full year of service for one trip because we didn't get their notifications that it was an automatic renewal. Their traps are even still in our yard from the services of last year proving they never returned. Now they turned our bill into the debt collector and now my credit is ruined. I would not recommend this service provider and I would make sure you read the fine print as they will charge you the entire year of service without your permission regardless. read more

my previous vendor was bought out last year from tuff tuff. they do not have experienced workers that know how to treat issues like weeds and grubs. I had to point out the grub issue myself the last 2 years plus the nutsedge. The nutsedge weeds in my back yard still haven't been killed. I asked them to come back out to retreat the area and they said they only come back out on the next service to address the problem. my previous vendor did a much better job responding and resolving the problems. I rarely am disappointed with a company's service but these guys are AWFUL. They obtained Steketee (with whom until this point, I had an amazing experience with). Ever since Jeff took over Steketee with his Molebusters business and merged them, the service has gone DOWNHILL. I have had Steketee do my lawn fertilizing and weed control, for pretty much ever. My lawn has wild MUSHROOMS for the first time in YEARS since Jeff took over. I had to contact them a month ago to complain about weeds growing on my lawn. Why the hell do I need to tell you when to do your job? Jeff keep harassing me to make an online account as well - yeah that's what I need, one more login. Steketee never asked me for anything like that before him - they used to send a bill in the spring, I prepay the season, and they do their job and my lawn used to look great. Unfortunately, under the new management Jeff is providing, everything is going downhill. SO disappointed. I wish Steketee never sold to them. Would NOT recommend! read more

Pretty disappointed with this company. I was given a quote for front and back yard. The back is a pretty steep hill but they did drive to fertilize the first time out last year. I was home this year for the first app and they didn't do the hill. I watched and it was completely skipped. When I contacted them and told them if the hill was going to be an issue they shouldn't charge me for it. I was called a liar and told they walked the hill...then the service manager proceeded to call my husband. I set up the service and I wrote the checks for $300 for this service. Still waiting for my refund for the remainder of this season. I wasn't going to cancel the service but didn't think I should pay for lawn they do not service. read more

Poorly run business, upper management will give out personal management. They don't offer health insurance but try and just pay you as much as they can. Which then makes there equipment bad couldent even adjust the backpack straps because they broke so much they just decided to screw them into the machine at one length. I would stay away from this business and just get a landscaping job. If you want waste your time and never get anywhere and have harder then normal days because of lack of maintenance and professionalism this is the job! read more

I contacted TuffTurf in Fall 2017 to assess significant mole damage in my yard. Even though I had found two moles (one alive, one dead) over the two weeks prior to that appointment, their technician reported that there was not an active mole population. Based on that report, their sales consultant told me that it would be completely appropriate to schedule lawn rolling and aeration in Spring 2018. He did not believe that starting a mole treatment program was necessary, and in fact strongly argued against it. To their credit, the technician that completed the lawn rolling in Spring 2018 did a great job. She introduced herself beforehand, was very personable, and was very respectful of my yard and landscaping. However, just a few weeks after completing this service, my yard - once again - showed evidence of an active mole population. This completely destroyed the benefit of the lawn rolling. I contacted TuffTurf for an explanation. They told me that, even though they had concluded in the Fall that there was not an active mole population in my yard, moles should have been expected to return in the Spring. No one bothered to share this information with me at any point in time. In fact, they not only told me that a treatment program was unnecessary, but allowed me to schedule and pay for a service (lawn rolling) that they had to have known would be undone shortly after it was completed. Jeff Skully, general manager at TuffTurf, was very patient with my questions. However, he essentially blamed me for not purchasing a treatment program and for scheduling lawn rolling ... even though I had simply followed the recommendations of his employees! He apparently expected me to trust the recommendations of his sales consultant and technicians, yet also believed that I should have completely ignored them.  Based upon that, he was completely unwilling to offer a refund. Although everyone at TuffTurf was very easy to work with, they simply were not able to deliver on the promises listed on their website. Their evaluation of the mole population in my yard was inaccurate, they recommended *against* a treatment program despite later telling me that moles should have been expected to return, they sold me a service that they should have known would be undone shortly after it was completed, and - worst of all - blamed me, the customer, for everything that went wrong. My advice? There are other pest control companies. Use them. read more

Here are the results of employing Molebusters for three entire seasons: our lawn is as bad or worse than when we hired them, and my wallet is a few thousand dollars lighter. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, expecting different results. Their service consists of setting traps, putting some poison in the runs, then spraying the perimeter. They catch moles in the traps if they find the runs - often they didn't and I had to flag them myself. The border repellant might (might) be mildly annoying to moles, at worst it is bait. In other words, they don't stop new moles from invading. Whenever I questioned their results they always made the same canned response, "This has been an especially bad year for moles." - three straight years - like they were dropping into my yard from the trees, not crossing over from offsite. There is no guarantee - not for results nor for satisfaction. That should have been a red flag. At one point their solution was that they could train me, and sell me the supplies to do the work myself. Gee, thanks. As far as I can tell the only thing you can be sure of is that Molebusters will make visits, and they will charge your credit card. Hence, the purpose of this review. We have tried multiple services to control our rampant mole issue in a large backyard that is next to a creek and wooded area. Molebusters, while not the least expensive, has been the most effective. Caught many moles; problem has not totally disappeared, but lawn looks the best it's looked in the years since we have struggled with moles. They are simply fantastic at communicating, keeping us informed, showing up like clockwork, and reporting the results every two weeks. Very happy! read more

We have had great luck with this company for many years until today. The tech decided to use one of two gates to the back yard. This particular gate just got redone, new grass planted, straw covering it. The other gate, completely clear. I yelled at the tech, he stopped his spreader, and confronted me! It ended up with me threatening this "man" with calling the police after I ordered him to leave the property and he was not complying. I called his company, had a word with two people in their office, demanding something be done. I did get a call back from the company, got into an argument with him after being victim blamed, and I fired that company. I have used this company since the late spring for mole control and I'm not entirely sure what I'm paying for. It would seem that your nearly $300 gets you a monthly or semi-monthly phone call and home visit where some guy puts a piece of paper on your doorstep telling you "all clear". The other day after I received an "all clear" note showing no mole activity, I went to my backyard and it was a virtual habitrail of mole activity. We had mole trails in the grass, the flower beds, you name it. I called the company and the response I received from the customer service agent was "moles dig quickly" and the activity I saw after the company visit was likely new activity. I think not... Molebusters is a sham. Do yourself a favor if you have moles and just buy some traps at Ace / Home Depot and spread some Sweeny's or Repellex. You'll likely do better than Tuff Turf Molebusters and save yourself a lot of money. read more

He explained the process and offered a refund if I didn't notice a difference. He also offered to come over after he finished up. I called the number on the truck and signed up. The yard has a pond, planting beds, trees scattered everywhere, a bridge......Lots of stuff in an extremely small area, but every year she does a fantastic job of wheeling that big machine around to get every spot. I also have used this company for several years (4+) to fertilize, lime app., etc. I finally dropped their services since my yard looks the worst it ever has. I also do want to mention that they automatically begin charging you without your consent so be careful. They will send you via email the rates for the coming season so you must tell them in advance what, if any services, you want and be sure to let them know otherwise they will provide all services listed and bill you. I signed up last year and paid about $300 for 6 visits (they come back every 2 weeks for 6 visits total). They came out and set 15 traps, and caught 1 mole. On the second visit, they took away 10 traps, leaving only 5 traps. This is after catching only one mole. I emailed them and said they need to put out at least a minimum of 10 traps. They said they took away the traps because there was no mole activity. The 3rd visit, the came out and set 10 traps, and caught another mole. 4th visit caught a 3rd mole. 5th visit caught a 4th mole. 6th visit they came and took the traps away. I emailed and called expressing that I wanted them to give me one more visit to make up for the 2 weeks they only had 5 traps out. They said just because there were 5 instead of 15 doesn't mean you would catch a mole. I said true, but my odds were greatly reduced when you reduced the traps from 15 to 5, and after bringing the traps up to the minimum of 10 I requested, you caught 3 more moles. I told them I still saw fresh tunnels, but they put a notice on my door that I was free of moles. No way, not true. I called and spoke with someone about this last fall and they said they would have Jim, the owner, call me. No one called me until this Spring to see if I wanted to hire them again for moles. Hmmmm, if I was clear, then why were they calling me? I'll tell you why.....I believe they intentionally leave moles behind in hopes they will breed and you will have to pay them again. I told the solicitor from Tuff Turf Molebusters the whole story and that I would not hire them again unless they came and set 15 traps for 2 more weeks because they owed me that. He said they would contact me back, and I have still not heard from them. I just set my own mole trap, and caught a mole today! They could have made a lot of money in my subdivision because we recommend contractors by email to all the residents. I chose to write this poor review of this company instead. DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE, THEY ARE CROOKS! Yes, the caught some moles with my help. If I hadn't insisted on them putting back at least 10 traps, I doubt we would have caught four moles. Additionally, the only time they didn't catch a mole was when they took away 10 of the 15 traps. Additionally, there clearly was still activity, when the service ended and they said I was clear of moles but I clearly was not. I called and emailed several times, no response, so here is my response to potential customers....don't hire these people. Trap your own moles.
