Hamilton came out the same day to fix my crooked garage door... it had come off the tracks. Unfortunately, my garage door did get damaged when it came off the tracks. Two of the panels got damaged in the process. However, Hamilton was able to bring my garage door down and secure it until the new garage door came in (which was only a couple days later). I got the brand new door installed in 1 days time, and I even upgraded my opener to a new one with MyQ. Now I can open it with my phone! My garage door stopped working on Friday afternoon. I texted Hamilton about 8pm on Friday evening because he had installed this garage door opener last May. He texted back right away and we set up a call for Saturday to troubleshoot the problem. He lied to me and separately billed me for a rebalance when he was repairing a broken spring, a service covered by my home warranty, claiming he couldn't complete the installation of the spring, refusing to reattached it unless I agreed to the charge. Tuff's was recommended by my home warranty company when my home's garage opener stopped working with the remote. *MARCH 2021* Still during the height of COVID, the technician showed up late and did not wear a mask. The technician also used a brand new ladder without asking. So rude and unprofessional! During the diagnosis, he stated what was wrong was not covered under warranty (damaged motherboard and unbalanced garage door) but he could not fully explain what was covered and continued stating the entire opener and garage door needed to be replaced. When we asked him the price to install a brand new garage opener, just installation fee alone was $250 when Home Depot charges less than $100. What upset me the most was the fact that the technician sent from Home Depot said the garage door was not unbalanced. Ended up having to waste weeks of time contacting my home warranty company for reimbursement and having the trade call fee waived for such dishonest service or lack of. read more

Hamilton Gomez is a FRAUD and should be ashamed of his business and work ethic. You can see plenty of other reviews just like mine so seems like he does this to people regularly. Home warranty (AHS) sent them to evaluate broken garage door opener. The drive sprocket was broken. They said the garage door was unbalanced and needed to be fixed which is not covered by insurance ($175). Said they would not fix the drive sprocket unless door was "rebalanced" beforehand. Basically trying to make more money off me. Meanwhile his little underling just sat there and watched him spew this nonsense. You could see the look on his face - he was straight up embarrassed to be standing there listening to this garbage and dishonesty. I had another company come by to check the garage door the following day. They said the door was PERFECTLY FINE and drive sprocket was broken from normal wear and tear. Dishonest company. This company was recommended by my home warranty insurance for second opinion because I rejected and refused the service from the previous contractor. I made an appointment with Hamilton and he came to my house on the next day. I explained to him about the garage and he repaired it within half an hour. He told me the repair will be covered under my insurance even though the previous contractor told me I have to pay about $395 from my pocket because the insurance won't cover the entire repair. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! We called our Insurance Company American Home Shield (AHS) and they gave us this contractor to come out and fix our Garage door opener which it was a motor problem. We were not happy with Tuff Garage reviews as they always say to clients that the Garage Door is unbalanced therefore AHS will not Pay. We told AHS Retention person Aaron this ahead of time and he said to call him back if we had any problems. They spent two hours talking to my husband and just standing around saying they could not fix it because Garage Door was unbalanced. We knew Tuff Garage would say it is the door balance because that is what they do so they do not have to pay. We called and had a maintenance checklist ahead of time to check the balancing of our door and it passed. They lied to us so they didn't have to fix the door. We bought our own Motor and had a company install and it works great. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. read more

Stay away. Although he did fix the original problem, Hamilton upsold me on a part upgrade - saying the hook I had was the wrong type. However, his new part prevented the garage from closing completely due to the difference in length. He lost his temper and started yelling when I asked him test the door after installing the new part to make sure it worked properly before he left. After watching the door fail to close, he started straight up yelling at me that some drywall was causing the problem, not his new part. He stormed off and drove away very upset. He then tried to tell the home warranty company that I refused to pay. After he left, I replaced the original part and it worked perfectly. I called him to tell him I fixed it and he said he would drop the upsell charge only if I said I was an incompetent man. read more

Dishonest! Avoid them if you can. They were recommended by my home warranty when our garage door wouldn't close, in Feb 2020. The guy from Tuff came on time but let us know that the service needed was not covered by the home warranty. So our home warranty representative spoke to him and he agreed to provide the service for a fixed amount which would include the trade call fee. He fixed the issue, wrote us a receipt that the amount was paid in full and the balance was zero.Then, about a month later we receive a notice from the home warranty folks asking us to pay the trade call fee! The guy from Tuff claimed that we had not paid the trade call fee! We have spent hours so far on calls trying to resolve this. What a waste of our time and energy! I had told Hamilton is was an industrial / commercial type opener used in like firestations. He said no problem he fixes all He showed up 1 1/2 hours early to tell my husband he doesn't work on this kind because it's a commercial opener. Thought the description would have told him that?!?! He wanted to collect his service fee and that's it! I would not recommend this company at all. Another contractor was over and we told him what was going on with the door and opener. I'm literally 20 seconds he fixed it. Easy fix!! I would have had no problem paying the fee if he would have acted like he cared , he didn't , or point us in the direction to help us. read more

Stay away, my home insurance company AHS assigned TUFF garage doors to inspect my garage door opener it was not working, Hamilton came to inspect it, first he cheeked springs and then he went on to inspect the opener, he told me that motor on opener was bad due to the springs, he said that insurance would not cover cost of repair, I asked him what it would cost to correct problem, he said opener would cost $500 and springs would cost $450 for a total of $950, he never checked if the motor was bad as a matter of fact he never checked if there was a/c voltage to the opener also he wanted to change springs when there is nothing wrong with them, Hamilton is a very dishonest installer. I will call AHS to get a second opinion. I was hoping to talk to him before I posted review but he did not return my call.
