This huge store is insane! Inside the mall, Tucson Games & Gadgets takes up 3 store spaces and goes deep in the back to a pub. They have everything you can imagine for games: board games of every kind, massive selection of RPGs and supplies, an area to play games, and soon an entire section devoted to cosplay sales and accessories. The pub in the back serves drinks, food, and a cool atmosphere. There are tables for rent for gaming. I could literally spend all day in here. They have it all. read more

I didn't know this store existed but it's absolutely fantastic! John immediately greeted us and told us all about every product in the store, showed us some things we might be interested in, and told us about the game night events the store hosts daily. There are D&D games, figurines, and a few tshirts. Lots of Pokémon and Warhammer. A few board games, etc. There was also an Exorcist Ouija board (no thanks to the last). I also loved the setup of the game tables, which provide safe, wholesome fun for gaming groups. Next time we're in Tucson, we'll be checking out this store again. read more

Honestly, don't waste your time bringing your Yu-Gi-Oh! cards here. I came in looking to sell some solid cards and they wouldn't even look at them. It's a 'Games and Gadgets' shop that apparently doesn't want to deal with one of the biggest games out there anymore. ​If you're a TCG player or collector, save your gas and go somewhere that actually supports the community and buys inventory. They've lost a customer with me. Incredibly disappointing experience. read more

Janae gave us an awesome grand tour! She was so energetic and bubbly and definitely rolled an 18 in Charisma. This place has it all. There is a Magic the Gathering hangout area, a shop packed with new and used board games and books, D&D minis available to use during campaigns and lots you can buy to take home, a space to play tabletop games, and an actual tavern that any D&D, Warcraft, or Witcher fan will absolutely love. Brad, the bar manager, was super cool too. After the tour he shared all his knowledge about meads, drinks, and snacks that are perfect for any quest. We had a blast talking with him and even bonded over our PvP days. His main was an Alliance mage, but he played a Horde rogue for PvP, so I can forgive him for that! As a disc priest myself, we got to geek out about the glory of well timed CC. Overall, this spot is an absolute gem. It is a must visit for any gamer. They even host Jackbox party nights! This review is for the Tucson Mall location. 4 stars because they had every expansion to Clank! except the one we wanted and I still had to order from the dreaded Amazon beast! But the selection is impressive overall for board game enthusiasts, the tavern in the back is soooo cool, and while $5/person is steep for a family of 5 to play board games, it's not bad if I wanted to meet some friends there and pay for just myself. Whenever I've called on the phone the service is great, sometimes the in-store service is a little lacking at this location, BUT I'd rather be left alone to browse than have people hovering and constantly asking me if they can help me, so it doesn't bug me. That said if you go to the Marana location, they are insanely friendly and helpful there, so if you like the constant "can I help you?" type of service, I'd recommend going to that location. read more

Fun, fun, fun! We visited family when we're out in Tucson and they told us about this place. We came here initially for lunch and a few card games. The food is nothing fancy (it's pub food that they bought from some place like costco and heat up in an oven or air fryer) but it's tasty and filling and priced appropriately. They serve mead which my husband and friends really like. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we came back for Jack Box night. We arrived when the games started and we left when the place closed. That's how much we like the place! The service is good; nothing to rave about but you're greeted with a friendly smile. We will definitely come back the next time we're in that area. read more

This place is dysfunctional as it gets. When you want to come here for D&D, you are thrust into an ongoing power play, where you are a pawn, not a person. If you like playing in a place where rules are thrust upon you, and you have no say about said rules. A place where when you are late you get punished by being denied to play D&D. A place where the owners rule is law, and any dissent is treated with threats and public humiliation. A place where a DM has the power to banish you from the store you get upset with them. ( And the DM isn't even a store employee) A.place where you are not respected, and your character that you have worked so hard on to create gets killed within the first 5 minutes, because the DM loves to kill players and doesn't care about you. A place where, even after you have paid, you can get booted from a table and you don't get a refund. I have been there, and I have to say, this place isn't worth your clientele, go to any of the other places, and you will have more fun, where you can play characters that you like, and not beholden to any rules, just because the owner has a fetish with Greyhawk. read more

Like me, they're a bunch of game nerds but they also have a strange misconception that game nerds are better people than anyone else and don't have to be courteous to people that have the misunderstanding that mall stores used to open at 10. I brought in a set of cards to get appraised and possibly sell them to this company. However I didn't realize that I was dealing with adult children as employees. I had supplied a starlight rare shooting majestic star dragon card because I wanted to know if it was worth it to get graded. I had given them my collection on Friday (disclaimer they were not organized and they didn't state before hand that they needed to be, I had put all my valuable cards in a tin without documentation clearly won't be doing that again) and didn't receive them or hear anything for 3 days. After finally receiving my cards and hearing back from them they gave me a list of cards that were worth something and it wasn't on the list. In short I won't be visiting this place anymore they clearly are not trustworthy and there employees don't know how to have an adult conversation without throwing a complete temper tantrum like a toddler, instead of coming up with a solution and or helping me into locating the card because I know it was there, so he decided to storm off. If this is how you run a business then I am surprised this company has made it this far. So if you want to either be ripped off or stolen from this is the place for you. read more

this place is amazing. it is not just a store but so much more. they sell a lot of board games and card games. there is a bar in the back which sells food and drinks. in addition there are events going on almost every day of the week from trivia to D&D and karaoke. they also have private rooms where you can play board games with some friends. it is 5$ for their stay and play offer. which is where you can play one of their games or events. i participate in the D&D event on Saturday nights and for 5$ i get to have fun from 5-10pm. definetly worth it. the nice part is that you can order food from the bar and they will bring it to your table while you play. i stumbled upon this place while walking around the mall and was a new player to dungeons and dragons. the DM is very nice and accommodating. he helped explain the rules and made me feel welcome. week after week the players start to become friends and it definitely makes for a fun Saturdays night. read more

My husband and I were on a date and wanted to play some tabletop games so we dropped by Games and Gadgets. It was A Thursday around 8. The store is very nice and has LOTS of games, minis, and other supplies. The tavern in the back is very homey and well-decorated. We would have stayed to play some games but nobody from the store engaged us at all. In fact the only person who talked to me was the girl behind the counter in the tavern when I asked where the bathroom was. read more

We decided to go to the Pokemon game night and I am so glad we did. Our kid wanted to know more about how to play and even though the main instructor was unable to come to that particular night, the other employee and other players helped teach us how to play and were very patient and kind even playing a few slow-paced games with us. I would recommend this to anyone who is curious about the game nights here. Everyone there was super nice and the atmosphere was very mellow. Fun for all ages. read more

Very cool looking place. The store is using predatory tactics and trying to say they play adventure league, which is wizards official way to play dnd but they do not play that. The manager told me I can bring in my adventure league character but when I got there they informed me I could not and since I'm here now I might as well just play in their league. What they are trying to do is make sure u play and find out you can't bring this character to any official dnd events and have to go back to them. So all my progress out of state is just gone. Looking at past reviews and talking to past employees sounds like the store owner doesn't give a shit as long as it's making him money seeing they had a manager harassing woman and him telling the poor woman they need to come in and that manager can explain why they said what they said. I was told by the other manager Michael that the same manager who had issue with woman who is also named Michael Richards would open the magic the gathering packs meant for the players that are given free by wizards for them would open and take out any cards worth money, so that he can sell them. So I came into the store with my kids so they can try and learn the magic card game. Well when I came in the manager was arguing with a customer about how they are canceling a event they paid for this week because they want them to buy into the new event they had. The customer of course was saying this was unfair especially when they didn't give any notice and waited till they came to announce it would be cancelled and telling them since they came out already might as well do the other event. I am amazed they can get away with that, I won't be bringing my kids to this store to learn games if they are going to be pulling that kind of stuff to the customers. I don't want to drive down to the store to find out they cancelled last minute or try to have me pay more for my kid to play after we paid for something. read more
