Cool guys to deal with. I brought some barrels to them to be cerakoted. They assured I was satisfied. Couldn't be happier. I'll certainly be back. Great service, very reasonable pricing.

I wouldn't use these clowns as paper weights. I have no idea why they believe their computer…read moresoftware is adequate. I sent them a .dxf file per their request with proper dimensions and tolerances according to ASME Y14.5 standards. Waited for bit, never heard back from them. Happened to be down by their shop later in the day so I dropped in. First person I talked to didn't have a clue of what was going on. Guy came from upstairs and walked me up to the office. Informed me he wasn't the person I need to talk to as he didn't have the ability to open the file. Guy sitting over in the corner spoke up and said he had reviewed the file and, "it has problems". I talked to him and asked what the problems were. He said the scale was completely wrong on the drawing and none of the dimensions would work out. Looked at their version of the print-out and noticed hand-written dimensions scribbled on the page. "What are these" I asked. "Those are the dimensions worked out by our software engineer according to the scale of the drawing" was his replay. "Umm, did anybody happen to notice the big letters right on the face of the print which says METRIC"? Uncomfortable silence. First guy tries to run a bluff by asking, "What are the tolerances allowed?". When I answered, ".2MM just as it says on the print, apx. .010" he was done. Corner guy goes to see the "software guy" hidden in some other part of the building. Disappears for 10 minutes and returns announcing, "He's not in right now". I gave up at this point and made made my exit realizing although these clowns have some fine metal works on display they simply work from pre-established patterns and have no clue of how to make custom designs. If you are looking for good quality fancy metal work from patterns then these guys will probably work for you. Don't bother if you want true custom work.

I happened to be doing some business in the area and noticed this shop. I walked in since the gates where open and asked a woman working there about having a custom fireplace insert done. A man comes out after hearing my conversation and asks in an aggwhat do you want" he doesn't bother to come down the stairs and proceeds to give me a lecture on how his business is run. I tell him about the fireplace and cuts me short stating "First of all we are not open today". I then ask if he's the person I need to talk to, he replies, "You come back on Monday and TALK TO ME!" Needles to say I won't be going back. Goes to show that no matter how great of a product you have it means nothing to the customer if your customer service is this BAD!

I did a fair amount of research and came to realize that this establishment, which sells only one…read moreproduct, carries the most-recommended roof coating for our desert homes. It's a bit pricier than "average." The 7000 series retails for $116 but anyone will automatically get a $10 discount to $96 per 5 gallon pail. Contractors that have an account will get about $20 off per pail. Each bucket will cover 250 sq ft (that's for double coat). So for a 2500 sq ft roof, you'll need about 10 buckets. Keep in mind, however, that your appraised square footage is typically about 25% less than your actual ROOF's sq ft. My porches and garage added nearly 1000 sq ft to the final estimate. I purchased 12 buckets and that was just right - allowing for glopping on extra touchup for sealing various protrusions, vents, skylights, chimneys, etc. Important: these buckets weigh about 65+ lbs each... very heavy. The hardest part about doing our own roof was the prep (power washing) and climbing each pail up the ladder, wounded soldier style (over the shoulder). My son and I finished the roof in two weekends because you need to have the power washing - and any patching - completely dry before spreading the first coat on the roof or else it (like any white coating) will bubble in no time. We could have spread the second coat on the next day but we both worked, hence the second weekend. Plus, our backs and quads were aching. Luckily we used SPF 110 on our face/necks! Tip: I first used a standard 9" roller with 1-1/4 in nap, attached to an adjustable aluminum pole. That took forever. I then bought a set up for an 18" roller (only available in 3/4" nap) from HD/Lowe's ($35 for bracket to hold rollers and an 18" roller) and that literally went twice as fast, but it was much harder work (pushing that much extra rubber coating using a roller that was now twice as heavy with product)! Bonus: my SO said I looked "ripped" after those two weekends. Their 6am - 5pm hours are great, plus open on wknds. They'll also help you load the buckets into your truck. Again, keep in mind that 10 buckets is almost 700 lbs of cargo. Note, there's a -$4 deduction for any returned (unopened) buckets (a "restocking fee"). At this price point I think that's absurd for a product that loses zero value and can be instantly re-marketed (unlike electronics, for example). I got the whole thing done for less than half the cost of the two professional estimates I got ($1,600 in materials vs $3,500 by contractor). But, honestly, given the four days needed to properly space out the power wash; coat; and re-coat; I'm not sure it was worth $2k for all of that sweat! On the other hand, the pride of a job really well done and of teaching and sharing in the task with my son... equally priceless. Plus, part of my expenses included a $210 electric power washer (2200 PSI) which I have always wanted. I can now "scrub" the driveway; fence; wash the cars/wheels; patio/porches... hands down the best part of the whole expense!

They say cars aren't museums and should be driven out in the elements, but I say, why not do both?…read more Three years ago, I started doing some research on local detailers specializing in ceramic coatings here in Tucson. Cool Auto had great reviews and many of them were personally answered by their owner, Cassandra. When I called for more information, sure enough, Cassandra answered the phone and took the time to explain all my options and invited me to see their shop at any time. I found her prices were fair and her shop was full of beautifully detailed cars and professional folks when I visited. I booked an appointment immediately. Over the years, Cassandra and her crew have expanded their offerings, now installing PPF and window tint to go along with their expert paint correction, detailing, and ceramic applications. Over the years, they have handled paint chips, door scratches, water spots and maintained my car's finish perfectly. Their prices are fair and they get the job done right, every time. It's rare these days, but after three years visiting her shop, I trust and believe it when they say they care about their customers' cars and happiness. I've brought the membership, I get my ceramic coating maintained every year, and eventually, I'll replace the original PPF on my bumper at Cool Auto as well. If you appreciate someone looking after your baby just like you would, Cool Auto is the place to go.
