We stopped by with questions on settings for the Fujifilm X-T5. Letitia kept the camera to have her husband take a look at it - fine with us. We left and she called us minutes later to say she had figured out the problem! That was perfect since we live 40 minutes away and we were then able to swing back by and pick it up. I am a nature photographer who uses my Nikon 200-500mm f5.6 AF VR lens several times a week. I was bummed when the zoom mechanism jammed on the lens effectively leaving me with a fixed focal length 480mm lens. I brought the lens in for repair last Friday right before closing. I bought a BMPCC 4k in April and to my dismay it already needed a repair. One of the pins in the 12v power socket was bent. I didn't know whether I would have to purchase a new camera. I took it into Tucson Camera Repair and John looked at it and said, "I can't fix it." Then he said, "I can try and bend the pin back in place." I told him to go ahead and try. At that point, I had nothing to lose. He got his tools and in less than a minute repaired the pin at no charge. John was honest, fair, and resourceful. Tucson Camera Repair - I was so glad to find this shop. First experience, I was searching for 120 format film and just happened to drive by and saw TCR. I pulled in hoping, but not expecting, that a repair shop would have film. The owner greeted me promptly and stated that they do not normally sell film, but he just happened to have a few rolls in his camera bag... I walked out a happy customer! In my second experience, I dropped off my 40-year-old Canon A1, which stopped working about ten years ago, and asked if they could revive it. They sure did, it came back good as new and looking much better than when I dropped it off. I have been using that old workhorse now for about six months, and all is well. I can highly recommend Tucson Camera Repair. I am a professional photographer and take my equipment very seriously. I had a broken switch on one of my pro bodies which Nikon would not repair. (No parts.) So I ordered the part online and called Tucson Camera Repair to install it. As it turned out I had gotten the wrong part. (Embarrassing.) Nevertheless, TCR found the part in Canada and got it here briskly. They repaired and cleaned my camera perfectly for less than Nikon would have charged. A lot less. While there I had a couple of very enjoyable discussions with the owner and his expert advice led me to decide to add to my camera herd. Sure it is possible to order for a bit less online (and I do mean a bit less) but supporting local business is important. And it is easy to do when the local business is run as well as this one is. And there is the seriously important advantage of having someone locally to speak with if there is a problem or you need technical advice. That is worth a lot to me. The store is a Nikon dealer. It has a great stock of New and used Nikon and other equipment at affordable prices. A comment about repair prices. Cameras are not inexpensive to repair generally and most particularly modern ones. All you have to do is check with the manufacturers in-house repair services and you will see what I mean. TCR is, by industry standards and my personal experience, very affordable especially when compared to these manufacturers. Do not hesitate to choose Tucson Camera Repair for repair services or to purchase equipment. They are about as good as it gets. read more

It was serendipity that I found this gem of a store here in Tucson. I was having an issue with my Canon point-and-shoot Elph 190 IS. It would not turn on even though I had charged the battery but still no power. I tried looking on the web for possible solutions but none of them worked. I looked on Canon's site and the repair shop was in Newport News, VA. I saw #TucsonCameraRepair on North Oracle on the web and decided to stop by to see if someone could maybe give me a clue as to why it was not working --the camera is less than a year old. The guy working in the store (unfortunately did not get his name) was very friendly. He said let me check the battery to see if that is the problem. He went back in the repair area and after just a short while came back with the camera on and the lens extended. Somehow the battery contacts had gotten dirty/corroded and the battery was not delivering power to the camera. I was very happy that it worked without having to send to the East Coast. When I asked how much I owed him for his expertise and time, his response was "nothing" --WOW So here is what I can do to let others know about this store -- 5 stars and a note that the service and friendliness was like you might have gotten and expected in the days before Internet. I am disappointed! I have an old AF NIKKOR 70-210 lenses which suddenly needed repair. Following recommendations I drew all the way from East Tucson to Tucson Camera Repair; show the lenses to a technician. He told me that the lenses had broken parts in it and is beyond repair. He suggested to go to e-bay and buy a similar one. They go for $50 backs now a days! So I did but... A day later my 30 years old son visited me and said - let me look at it! He fixed it in 20 minutes. You see Daddy there were these three little tiny screws that came loose. I needed to take this off, and this off and then put this three screws back where they belong; put this back, and this back and here you are. Well... I received my brand-new Nikon b500 camera in the mail yesterday. I called Nikon tech support because the camera did not seem to boot up properly and Nikon were of no use.
