I recently had some surgery which kept me at home for a few weeks. So, the first night I reentered the world , we chose. Tuccis and what a good choice it was. Tuccis is a few minutes from our home. Plenty of parking, The staff is always nice, the food always good, and it's just a nice place to eat. Their salads are always fresh, their pizza is always good. First time here and thought the food was great! I did come before the crowd, so I can't really say how too much about service but ours was super sweet and checked on us multiple times. (I've seen reviews saying service is bad. I didn't have that problem) Now, they don't have the regular soda everyone is used to so know that before you go if you're a big soda person like my mom's bf who said it was okay. The coke reminded of a lighter cream soda flavor. The spinach app was delicious! I got the pink sauce pasta with grilled chicken and loved it! I've been reading about this place for many years finally got the opportunity to go and I'm glad I finally made it. The pizza was delicious as was the salad with goat cheese, walnuts, and cranberries. Amazing neighborhood spot! I love coming here with family when I'm visiting. When you arrive there is plenty of parking. The restaurant is cozy and open. You're always greeted with a smiling face. It's bigger, and brighter but I have to admit, the old location was so full of charm and character, not to mention, much closer to my home...the pizza is still great and totally worth the drive cross town! When Dave Portnoy gives it an 8.1 you know it has to be good. The pizza I ordered was everything you dream of and more. Just plain cheese and meatball, nothing fancy. Their pizza is by far the best between Fort Lauderdale and Delray. We come here at least once a week. Their pizza is cooked perfectly, and their sauce and cheese actually has flavor, unlike a lot of the other woodfired pizza places. I've never been disappointed at Tucci's. Last night was no exception. We shared a Rossi deconstructed salad with raisins, walnuts, feta, tomato, mixed greens, and quite honestly, I could have been happy just eating the salad, it was that good. One large served four of us. The pizza was a split, one half sausage and mushrooms, the other side was just chicken for our friends. The sausage, your choice of either sweet or spicy (we chose spicy) was amazing! Great sauce, just the right amount of toppings, thin, wood-fired crust, we had to thank the gods above there wasn't any more to eat because we'd have been rolled out of there! All drinks are bottles. The service wasn't stellar, but it's more mom and pop with the best food. The wait to get in wasn't terrible, about 15 minutes. Parking can be challenging, but we always find a spot. We have been eating at Tucci's for many years from the old tiny establishment to this newer spot and have never been disappointed until last week. We were seated at a table next to a wall with sugar ants walking around. The server was not attentive and didn't take our order for 20 minutes. Our meatball appetizer was tiny and cold. The escarole in the escarole and beans appetizer wasn't cooked enough and was raw and crunchy. Our sausage pizza was topped with large pieces of sausage just cut in half the long way. The inattentive server disappeared continuously and never came to ask if everything was ok. She never asked if we wanted refills of our drinks. I can't think of anything good to say about our meal. I first want to say, I used to go frequently to the old location on 2nd St and really liked their Artisan Pizza. I hadn't been in years, and was never at the new Yamato location. I decided to just do take out early and not deal with crowds from what I remembered in the past. I just ordered a plan small pizza and Escarole and Beans that I used to really enjoy. I hate writing negative reviews, but this is not the pizza I remember at all. Sorry, but it wasn't really good at all, actually terrible. The crust was like cardboard, the cheese was tasteless and not enough sauce, making it dry. The box even says the " the Char is the Flavor", but there wasn't much at all. I usually always get some sort of app/salad and a pizza. My most recent visit we ordered meatballs and garlic flatbread. This is great combo to dip the flatbread into the delish sauce that the meatballs come in. The meatballs were so good and flavorful. I also recommend the wings which are delicious crispy from the coal fire oven with caramelized onions and rosemary. Some of the best wings you'll ever have. For pizza we got the Tony G and added mushrooms. It was fantastic and we brought 3 slices home. It's a tiny spot and can get busy so be prepared to wait when coming at peak times.
