    South shore roll

Have been coming here for over 6 years now!! Still just as delicious as the first time we came. If you are particular about your sushi then you will love this place. It's very high quality and fresh tasting. The rice to fish ratio is perfect, the temperature, everything here is balanced. If you want the cheap stuff go somewhere else.

Fantastic times three! This is such a hidden gem. If you haven't been you need to take a minute and head that way. The sushi is very thoughtfully crafted and the flavor combos are extraordinary. We tried the pepper tuna- yum Pink Lovely roll with dehydrated strawberries. So unique and so tasty Flamingo roll and Hawaiian roll with grilled pineapple. From the meal to the service you cannot go wrong. Tip- sit at the bar and watch these guys work. Amazing!

We ate the entire sushi roll -- this was a shaggy dog

Chef John did some major lighting changes to the place and made it more romantic in my opinion. This place is still my favorite sushi place in the whole Bay Area. The owner and chef take good care and detail to their menu items and quality of ingredients. Recently took my in laws here for the first time since it's their first time visiting the state and I immediately had to take them to Tsubasa. They 100% loved it here and can understand why I always come back! If you're in the area for sushi, I recommend you don't sleep on this place! It's too good to gatekeep!!

Love this place , the sushi is amazing and the owner and workers are also a pleasure to be around ! There's so many options to choose from.

Easily the best sushi this side of town. Fish is always fresh and sourced with care. Truffle seabass maki roll is unique and nuanced and not weighed down with mayo. Interesting niigori sakes and Kirin Light. Hatori Hanzō vibes all over. General Tso Chicken NOT being on their menu is a mark of a focused Japanese restaurant.

The best sushi I've had in a LONG time. Fresh ingredients and new flavor profiles allowing us to get out of the old Shaggy Dog Roll rut. I had the Mimi Roll (of course) and it was delicious. I love the small casual vibe of the restaurant. It's appears this little gem is getting busy and in need of additional staff- which is a good problem to have. Awaiting a clean table was well worth the excellent dinner we were served. Will definitely be back.

They had many options and the quality seemed pretty good over other AYCE places I've had. The offered sauces on the side-eel and spicy mayo. This is a good value for AYCE. The crab Rangoon was not it though. It was really crunchy which is good but the inside lacked the cream cheese filling. It was like eating basically the shell. I tried the dragon roll, snow crunchy roll, red snapper roll, and rainbow roll. My favorite was the dragon roll and snow crunchy roll. They were full of flavor and their rolls aren't too overly stuffed they were small and came with 8 pieces.. I liked that they were easy to eat. The service was ok I wish there was an easier way to get the servers attention. There were times where I wanted to order more but the server was elsewhere. Nigiri, sashimi, and rolls were tiny - and also took the longest to come out. And it sucked, because we could only order "1pc per person per order". So it took about 30 minuted for one order of 5 tiny sashimi pieces to get to the table. For someone that can't eat anything else with mayo or sauce in it due to GI issues, it was agonizing waiting for my meager pieces to arrive. There was so little raw fish in each order, I couldn't even confidently gauge the quality. I'd say around grocery store quality. Desserts came out way before before earlier sushi orders. There was also very loud rock music playing the entire time. The place felt claustrophobic and sticky.

During that time, other customers walked in and were greeted almost immediately. Other tables were being attended to and orders were being taken, and the restaurant did not appear to be understaffed or overwhelmed. What made the experience especially uncomfortable was that my wife and I were the only Hispanic customers in the restaurant at the time. Seeing other customers receive noticeably different treatment made us question whether our ethnicity had anything to do with why we were being ignored. I cannot say for certain that this was the reason, but that was genuinely how the situation made us feel. We ultimately decided to leave because we should not have to sit there wondering whether we are being treated differently because of who we are. Everyone who walks into a restaurant should be welcomed and treated with the same level of respect and attention. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and looks into how customers are being treated, because this was not the experience we expected.

We were initially told the wait would be about 20 minutes, but it ended up being closer to an hour. Once we were finally seated, ordering through the iPad was simple and convenient. The sashimi and hibachi dishes arrived quickly, while the specialty rolls and fried items took considerably longer because of how busy the restaurant was. To get the most value out of an all-you-can-eat experience, I usually focus on ordering sashimi. My favorites were the salmon, yellowtail, and eel, all of which were fresh and enjoyable. The spicy scallop sushi was the standout of the entire meal and easily my favorite bite of the night. We ordered a wide variety of dishes, and that was the one I kept going back to. The steak hibachi was solid, with well-seasoned meat and generous portions. The fried oysters and crab rangoons were both crispy and cooked well without feeling overly greasy. The specialty rolls were good too. While none of them particularly stood out, they were all enjoyable and well made. Overall, there was not a single dish that I disliked. Even with the much longer-than-expected wait, the quality and variety of the food made for a satisfying all-you-can-eat experience. If you plan on visiting during peak dinner hours, I would recommend expecting a wait, but once you're seated, there are plenty of options to make the meal worthwhile.

Though the meat in there wasn't as tender as I would've liked it and the eggs were more of a hard boil than a soft boil, the actual flavor of the broth and the texture of the noodles were really good. I came in on a Wednesday night around an hour prior to closing time, so the waitress was fast in taking our orders, though at times I did feel rushed and felt like they just wanted us out of the restaurant (which is reasonable, but I still felt rushed to eat and pay). This restaurant is featured on the BAHFL card (a card meant to encourage users to try out restaurants and get discounts for their meals), but whenever I asked, she questioned what I was saying and I ended up just paying as is without the card discount. Other than what I previously mentioned, though, this place is still good and is definitely worth trying out, though just not during later hours.

I feel like it leans a bit too much on the chili oil taste and struggles to stand on its own as a dish. I enjoyed the cucumber here, since it helps balance the overwhelming flavor, but I do wish there was more and it was cut into thinner pieces. Thai Style Chicken - 5/5 - Always has been my favorite dish here. The chicken is flavorful but not overwhelming. The lettuce helps balance the dish. The peppers add a strong kick if you're feeling spicy. The sauce is perfectly salty whilst not powering over the other elements. No complaints. Birria Ramen - 4.5/5 - Definitely not the choice if you want ramen, and thankfully I was not really craving ramen on this visit. For the standards of this dish, this is a perfectly good example of this dish. The broth is rich and extremely, almost to a fault, flavorful. The ingredients are not natural for a ramen, but they all somehow come together well. Not everyone's cup of tea, for sure, but it definitely was mine this time.

The place is decent sized and has a nice vibe. We were greeted when we walked in the door and our server quickly stopped by to get our drink order. She told us to take our time with the menu. Mark had a question when she returned with our drinks. Her guidance was informative. We ordered Gyoza to start. Mark ordered Spicy Miso Tonkotsu and I got Black Garlic Tonkotsu. The Gyoza was typical and delicious. Mark couldn't stop gushing about the Spicy Miso Tonkotsu. In addition to the broth, the pork and egg were standouts. It was so good he had to pick up the bowl and ensure he got every drop. I was equally enamored with the Black Garlic Tonkotsu. The noodles were done to perfection. The broth was slightly thick and delicious. I agreed with Mark that the pork and egg offered explosions of flavor. We would definitely be regulars at Fuji Ramen if only we lived nearby. To summarize my review before it begins, Masa is now my destination if I am craving sushi and Japanese food. The atmosphere was elegant, which makes it stand out from other surrounding sushi restaurants. We started off with cold sake and Ahi Poké Nachos, which were crispy and delicious. My friend and I split Sushi Combo C, which features 20 pieces of assorted sushi with California and Spicy Tuna rolls. The sushi was very fresh and skillfully made. The Tamago was freshly made with the traditional chopstick method. This was the best sushi I have had since I dined at Nobu in Las Vegas. Our companions had the chicken katsu Bento Boxes because they wanted an assortment of things to try. The tempura battered shrimp and vegetables were lightly crunchy and delicate. After dinner, the four of us had a round of Ninja Drop martinis, which were tangy and sweet. The owner, Michael Zhou (pronounced "zjoe"), came over to say hi. He encouraged us to try one of his favorite items, the Ahi Tuna Tartare, which was spectacular. To finish, we had a couple of bottles of hot sake alongside some yummy mochi ice cream.
