My first cooking class experience went so well that I found myself thinking I wanted to book the entire class for my Birthday! They keep the class small; perhaps a max of 20 people which makes it very intimate. The chefs are as entertaining as they are informative and they make cooking so much fun! So on the website, they call it an experience and that is better description than the word class. Have you ever missed the kids interrupting the teacher in school? Then, this is for you! They can't really control their guests; that said, the social aspect is heavily encouraged to the detriment of the overall experience. You start off with each person introducing themselves with a fun fact. That eats time that could be spent talking about...I don't know...cooking. The social aspect is mixed in almost literally with your food. You are not just paying for experienced chefs to guide you. You are paying to be grouped with (admittedly friendly) strangers who will kind of ignore the chef and just do their own thing with the meal you will eat later. Unless you are a group of four friends I guess. The unwanted social aspect continues to the end of the night: Where they have each of a us publicly review the experience. Yeah, my review was definitely edited. How are you supposed to say that the very patience the chef's displayed with the chatty guests should have been sharper? They gave a little tip at the end of the night that they say they normally mention during the course of cooking. Yeah, it was not given out earlier because of all the picture taking and socializing. People are definitely having fun. I am admittedly the curmudgeon in this case. This isn't to say that I learned nothing, that the meal was bad, or that I did not have any enjoyment. If anything, it's a good to get out of your comfort zone. I just wish that comfort zone should have been cooking focused, rather than social. read more

I have come to this cooking school for years, many times a year in fact. My husband and i had purchased a class to celebrate our anniversary and he unfortunately got sick with the stomach flu. He'd be on the tail end of it but still contagious for the class. I emailed 3 days in advance (on Sunday for a Tuesday class) to see if i could receive a credit. Spoke with Mary Ann on the phone and was expecting to hear something along the lines of "thank you for not bringing any illness in to class" and receive a credit. Instead she told me i missed the cancelation cut off and that if we chose to come in sick then that was up to us and there was as no wiggle room on the cancellation policy. It's pretty disgusting that this place would rather put an entire class at risk of getting a stomach flu rather than keep my money and let me come to another class. This is an activity where you are cooking a communal meal with strangers with your bare hands. No chance of not infecting other people. They should be encouraging people who are that sick to stay home. I've been a big supporter of this place, but not anymore. read more

Why have I waited so long to come here?! This place definitely beats all the other cooking classes I have been to. I do have to admit I had the most amazing chef, so that helps ;) I took my son and we both loved the whole thing start to finish. The nice thing about the class was, we did not have to chop any food. That saved a lot of time. Unfortunately, there was more bad than good. We did not have a recipe to follow so we had no idea what we were putting in our food or the measurements. We made a meal for a party of four and there were less people in our party. We did not receive any food to take home with us except for the left overs from our meal that we ate at the table. I felt like we didn't learn a thing! I also didn't appreciate the sarcastic Chef. This is an amazing date night experience. We did a double date with another couple and learned how to make a wonderful 3 course meal plus focaccia. We started by making a delicious lentil soup with andouille sausage. Then we worked on focaccia bread that was terrific. Next we cooked polenta and the roasted root vegetables. Then, we stuffed a pork loin with a reduced apple mixture and tied it up and coated it with a tasty garlic, mustard and apricot mixture before sticking it into the oven. The chefs took us patiently through each step and gave us some practical cooking advice too. Lastly, we had a lemon tart with meringue -- and yes we got to torch the meringue. For someone who is terrible at cooking, this place gave me a glimmer of hope. Who would have thought I could turn into Emeril Lagasse for the night? Who would have thought I could make something that is actually edible? Thanks to this place, I now know. My mom and I came here for the Greek cooking class, and it was absolutely wonderful. Our chefs were very knowledgeable and helpful; they assisted our group with all of our cooking needs. The best part was obviously the food. Everything we prepared was delicious. I will go as far to say that it was the best Greek food I've ever had. I highly recommend scheduling a class, but make sure to schedule in advance because they fill up rather quickly. Came here yesterday for work employee appreciation day and we all had a blast. There were about 10 of us that attended and we were split into 3 groups. Being that it was a private event we were able to choose what main entree, soup, salad, side, and dessert we wanted. All our choices turned out delicious! Best part is they give you the recipe after. It's a cooking class, but everything is pre-measured and pre-cut, I'm sure to cut time. You only get 3 hours which includes time for eating. I've never experienced a cooking class before but after yesterday, I'd do it again! Chef Dominique and chef George will walk around and make sure everything is going well and to answer any questions. THIS PLACE CARES MORE ABOUT REVENUE THAN CUSTOMERS! I was diagnosed with PNEUMONIA 2 days before a $250+ class and HAD TO ATTEND OR LOSE MY MONEY. Before you hear my experience, know all of this transpired before the class and had nothing to do with the class itself. I called as soon as I got home from the hospital to try to reschedule and received zero empathy. Plenty of other businesses and classes I've worked with would have accommodated to save the rest of the class from illness and me from nasty looks from other class attendees. When I reached out about it AGAIN I was told, "This is explained when you book your ticket, on your reminder and also on our website." Yes I did quote the email I received which I interpret as saying its to late and we already have your money! It's not like a sports event or concert where thousands of people attend. It's a cooking class of 16 people! In case ownership wants to know, I spoke with and emailed with Michaelin McCall, and she flopped handling the issue after going back forth about moving the time for an additional $5 charge on the phone and then rescinding that promise over email. I also want to mention she never followed up with me regarding the issue and I had to email the next day to get a response. Super easy solution: BETTER CUSTOMER SUPPORT and give customers the opportunity to insure the purchase. They charge enough for some of these classes I would have considered insuring our time. It would probably be a win win for everyone if they made this available for an additional fee. I hope nobody got sick and this business takes my suggestion into consideration. You're welcome for my free consultative services!!! Regarding the class itself, my girlfriend and I had a GREAT time! I even ended up running into a coworker of mine and we cooked together. I would recommend finding a class with Chef Mike, Sky , & Mark. They were the most polite, funny, and helpful people and they changed my mind about this place. BEST team building event EVER! I have been to Tspoons on numerous occasions for personal entertainment. It came to pass that I was tasked with setting up a teambuilding event for our office. Naturally, because I think this venue is positively amazing, I worked with them to set something up. They did not disappoint!! From beginning to end, they provided excellent information, service and support, for our group. Menu options were abundant and we had a really hard time choosing. The day of our event, they welcomed us with open arms, and I believe were genuinely happy to have us there. They are incredibly organized and had everything ready and waiting for us. I cannot say enough about the staff. Chef Emma and Chef Michaeline, along with the young lad, Mark, that was tasked with cleaning up our stations and all of our dirty dishes, were positively amazing, fun and definitely know what they're doing. They truly took amazing care of us. Their kindness and sense of humor only added to the experience. If you've never been to Tspoons, I suggest you go - don't walk...run !! This is a cute experience for team bonding/date night, but as for a cooking class, you don't really learn anything....and the recipes are bad/food doesn't taste good. Everything is pre-measured and pre-cut for you, and a lot of the food goes to the back where someone does all of the cooking. They do give you recipes at the end, but I guarantee that no one in my group will use them because none of us actually liked the food. But since the cooking school does everything for you such as the measurements, and the cooking, you can't customize anything. The dessert was too sweet. Our steamed fish (with a horrible herb seasoning) was way overcooked that people either didn't eat it, or we ate it out of pity because it was protein. When they surveyed everyone at the end, and we all said the salad or soup was the best dish, that's a problem because those are the simplest things to make. The staff also weren't the best listeners, because you can tell them 10 times that you don't drink alcohol, and they'll still pour you a glass of wine. It's an expensive experience for lackluster food, but if you're into ambiance, the candlelight dinner setup and overall experience is nice. So if you're looking for a cute team bonding experience and money isn't really an issue, Tspoons might fit the bill. read more

We did the baking class with Chef Mike & Chef Jeff and it was really fun. We made: raspberry eclairs, lemon cream tarts, flourless chocolate cake and rosemary focaccia. Everything turned out delicious and we learned some new baking skills. After making everything you have the option to enjoy the sweets there or they can also pack it home for you. Chef Mike was very entertaining and really made sure everyone was involved and having a great time! Overall it was a great baking experience and I highly recommend this class to others who want to enjoy a fun time in making a variety of baked goods. 5 stars for the pastry basics class my husband and I attended today! Chef Mike & Chef Jeff were wonderful. Chef Mike had a great sense of humor and taught us to have fun and not take everything so seriously (as a home cook that measures everything, he was trying to help me lighten up a little, and eyeball some measurements, which was appreciated) The chefs made what seemed like intimidating pastries seem very doable, and everything turned out beautiful. Both Chef Mike & Chef Jeff helped us out the entire class and offered other methods while we were making our baked treats - learned a lot of good tips to bring home to My own kitchen. I've been to a few classes now. It's a great atmosphere, friendly attendees and knowledgeable chefs. Ingredients are prepped ahead so cooking is easy and fairly quick. Enjoying the food you cook afterwards with some strategic extras is nice. I'm giving a 4 instead of a 5 because I was hoping to learn more about ingredients and processes... the what and why along with the how. There's more of that in some classes and hardly any in others. We do a lot in a short time, so maybe that's why some of the learning is left out. Overall I would recommend and will keep looking for interesting classes here. read more

My son had his 11th birthday and had the best time with his friends. They cooked a chicken burger, potato fritters, homemade cookies with ice cream. The chefs were the sweetest and so patient with the kids. The kids loved the food they made. T'spoons also decorated and provided personalized recipe cards for the kids. I have to say, based on my 1st experience last year, I would have given them 5 stars. Fun, laughter, nice people, and great recipes, However, we had Dominic last night and it was a 180 from our previous experience. I felt like we were in Hell's Kitchen. He was loud, abrupt, rude, and hard to understand. Most people were more quiet and intimidated. On multiple occasions he would grab someone by the arm to march them to the sign over the sink that displayed the rules of the kitchen and announce that he is in control. The food we had this time was loaded with salt, butter and cream and left us feeling sick. Based off of this last experience it was most definitely not an enjoyable evening out and was not worth the money. We won't return and will seek out a different cooking experience at another place. read more

This place is great and super fun. Ive been multiple times. When I book, I always cringe at the price, but then when I go I realize how much its worth it for what you get. The staff is very professional and they work hard to have everything ready before you arrive. The place is super clean and the recipes are always delicious. After you cook, you get to sit at a beautifully decorated table and eat your meal family style with everyone else, alomg with a glass of wine (BYOB). I have been going to Teaspoons for about 5 years. The food is excellent! I am not reviewing the food. The review is about Chef Mike. He was making rude and out of context jokes. In one of the jokes/comments he spoke about "being on the short bus". That comment is so disturbing. Who is he to judge people with special needs? He also stuck his middle finger, when he was told his finger when he was kindly told, that his finger was covering the camera on the phone. These are a few of the comments that he made yesterday. What can I say that Beverly T. hasn't already said? First of all, you'll be surprised at the location. Make sure you have your GPS ready. You drive through a beautiful neighborhood full of perfect houses with impeccably manicured lawns. Then you come to a street made up of businesses that look like they're houses. It's pretty neat. Ms. T renovated her house so that the entire downstairs area is the kitchen/studio where the classes are held and she lives upstairs. The decor is modern, clean, yet homey at the same time. I loved the vibe. Our group of 6 came here for my early birthday celebration because we found a great deal on Groupon (don't know what that is? I suggest you google it, stat!). Our groupon was for $39, but each class is usually $69. Miss T (the owner) comes up with her own menus depending on the season so that you can work with locally grown, fresh ingredients (let's support small farmers). Look on their website for the schedule and what's on the menu for a particular class. When we came, we got to make: Stuffed Artichokes, Risotto Primavera with Shaved Parmesan, Apricot Glazed Pork Chops and Vanilla Infused Panna Cotta with Balsamic Strawberries. After you make your dishes, you get to eat your delicious creations! Everything was sooo delicious and easy to make. Miss T brings on different chefs to help her out with her classes. We got a bonafied French chef who had amazing knife skills. Seriously, who knew there was a "right" way to cut vegetables. We all learned so much in the 3 hours (6-9pm) that we spent here even though most of us cook on our own on a regular basis. I loved that she encouraged us to taste everything and adjust ingredients to our tastes. She said all recipes can and should be modified because everyone has a different preference for how salty or sweet they'd like things. She really allowed us to make each dish our own. We were so proud at what we had accomplished at the end of the night. I'd love to come back for her other classes!! This was an unforgettable experience for all of us!
