I had stopped in at the Asian market across the parking lot and saw this place going in. As I was leaving, the outdoor seating area caught my eye and I decided to stop in. From reading previous reviews I knew about the ordering tablets on the right wall as you enter. I was torn between the Boba tea and the fruit teas and ended up settling on the Pineapple green tea. The tea was delicious and it'd a perfect blend of green tea and pineapple juice. It's very refreshing. There is no size option when you order your drink but it's not a small either. Definitely a great spot to stop for a drink if you're in the area. I'll be back next time I'm in the area to try a different tea and maybe some Boba tea.
I've contemplated stopping at Tsaocaa many times, however, with transfers being more difficult since my last amputation I've really reduced the number of times I stop at a location where I don't have another stop nearby. While Tsaocaa is in a strip center, there's really nothing else in this strip center that strikes my fancy. So, I just haven't stopped. However, today I was across the parking lot at the nearby Goodwill. I was feeling like I had pretty good stamina and decided to wheel over and finally check this place out. This is in a bit of a weird strip center adjacent to Castleton Square. It's an older center with mostly ethnic businesses with some exceptions. The building itself appears a bit run down. However, it's still clean and I was pleasantly surprised to see a fairly decent wheelchair ramp right next to Tsaocaa. They also do have both indoor and outdoor tables. The doorway is a two-sided doorway. I found it a little heavy, however, I was able to get in. This is a fairly small space. The tables are nicely spaced, however, the actual aisle is kind of narrow. They have two electronic kiosks where you place your order. If you are paying by credit, you pay at the kiosk. If you're paying with cash, you get a receipt and pay at the cash register. The kiosks are perfectly nice - they struck me as a more vertical version of the ones at Shake Shack. Though, I will admit they struck me as weird since they are literally directly in front of the counter. You're literally right next to the employees who are making your order. I realize these are specialty drinks, but it just struck me as weird. Truthfully, I didn't care for it. However, I persevered and I will admit the process is fairly simple. Plus, hey, I learned how to use the tap feature on my credit card. Leave me alone. I'm over 50 - I still remember typewriters, party phone lines, and when gas stations had full service. I ordered a pineapple green tea. It came in a pretty cool glass for $6.95. There was definitely real pineapple in it. I'll admit this surprised me, but it also pleased me. It was probably less than two minutes and my drink was ready. I should note that the electronic kiosk allows for some customization and also asks for your name - thus, your name is called when your order is ready. The young man was friendly, though I wouldn't say anyone here was particularly outgoing. The atmosphere is what I'd probably call an Americanized Asian atmosphere - there's a plant shelf over the ordering counter, a row of tables, and some light Asian decor. The music struck me as a tad too loud, though I also noted the acoustics here are a bit off and even conversations are a tad loud. It was, though, a little nicer than I expected. I believe that Tsaocaa is in the same family as the new Harmony Tea joints that are going up around town. They had some Harmony signage. I'm glad I visited, though I doubt I'll rush back. I will admit I'm a bit old-fashioned - I actually like customer service and the kiosk thing just doesn't click with me. The atmosphere was busier than I prefer - when I'm having this type of drink, I like to relax a bit. If I'd grabbed an outside table, perhaps it would have been more appealing. I may try one of the Harmony Tea locations depending on locale and convenience. Overall, I liked my drink and that made the stop worth it. This is very easily a 4-star rating for me. However, it simply didn't have that extra spark that would allow me to push it up to a 5-star.
I know this is not a healthy options for drink but I love bubble tea T_T Caramel Bubble Milk Black Tea with Dark Brown Sugar / brown sugar jelly (options , which I prefer) are the best.
As we walked in, we were very confused by all the Harmony Tea Shoppe branding in Tsaocaa. We've been to two different Harmony locations before and came out disappointed both times so we were a bit apprehensive about getting a drink here. The barista explained that Tsaocaa has the same owner as Harmony Tea Shoppe, but this was a franchise and the drinks were made a bit differently. Since we had made the trip out, we decided to take the chance. We got one drink: King of Milk Tea, Less Ice, 50% Sweet w/ Boba ($6.70) - They first start the drink by pouring some kind of thick liquid creamer mixture into a cup, then add the sugar syrup, ice, and tea from a dispenser. This is mixed together thoroughly and poured on top of some warm boba. I found that half sweet was still on the sweet side and the creamer is quite strong, releasing a very noticeable milky-forward taste throughout the drink. Some of the nice oolong notes do come out, with a bit of fragrancy and roasty undertones and aftertaste. The boba here is very bad. They use a golden boba rather than the typical black boba, but it's horribly undercooked here. The boba had one of the hardest textures I've had among the 100+ different boba shops I've been to across the US and Asia. It's just a very bad boba. With golden boba, you can pretty easily see how cooked it is - the more cooked parts turn translucent, while the less cooked parts are opaque. More than 50% of each pearl was opaque. We could not finish the boba and ended up throwing it out. Like Harmony, the toppings here are $1.25, which is super expensive, almost double the price of other boba shops. They also charge a service fee in addition to the normal state taxes, even though you order using the kiosk for their convenience. Bleh. In comparison to Harmony, the tea quality here is better, but the boba is worse. Similar to Harmony, the kiosk doesn't have any description for any of the drinks, so for some items you honestly have no idea what you are getting. I don't recommend either shop.
The best boba spot in Indiana!! I like their milk teas because they retain a strong, authentic tea taste. A lot of other boba places ruin their drinks by watering them down or having too much syrup. The boba is sweet, delicate, and chewy!! I recommend the ruby red milk tea & king of milk tea. Other neat features I like about Tsaocaa is their self-order screens & rewards cards where you can get a free drink for every 10 purchases.
I went here 3 times this week because I am totally obsessed!! The inside is so cute and clean. Lots of plants, a few tables, and comfy chairs to sit in. You order at a Kiosk that is easy to scroll the menu, place an order, and pay on. The drink menu is huge! Lots of yummy options like milk tea, regular tea, and snack foods. The service has been fast whenever I've gone. I went during the week twice and I was the only person there, but when I went on Sunday it was packed! Regardless, my drink was ready in a couple minutes. Overall a great experience and I am ready for more already!
Making my way through the menu here. More expensive than Starbucks but so much to try something different. Rose milk tea with rainbow jelly and King tea with mango bursting boba were the choices for the evening.
I've been here a few times and I've tried a different few drinks. This time we got like normal milk tea & green tea. While they're both good, I feel like the milk tea was very light in flavor and the green tea was very strong in tea flavor. I do enjoy tea a lot. The tea was with lychee jelly I think, and it wasn't that good with the mix that I went with. The strawberry pudding was too artificial like 2/5. I wasn't a fan of it nor was my boyfriend. Not sure how I thought it was gonna taste, but I was really disappointed for it. Experience goes like you walk in and order on the machines. They call your name and you go and get your order. Music is pretty nice in there.
This is a really cute Boba shop right in the plaza with Patel Brothers and Viet Hua in Castleton. It was a great treat on a hot summer day after getting groceries. They have machines that make ordering very easy. We went on a Sunday early evening and there was a considerable wait for the drinks, so you may want to consider ordering online instead. These drinks were pretty pricy compared to what I am familiar with in terms of boba shops. For all drinks, everything is an additional cost, including boba for $1. Others like grass jelly or foam would be additional as well unless you specifically get a foam drink. I felt they were quality drinks, but I was not really able to taste any flavor in the Sakura oolong. If you get foam, it is pretty overpowering. The matcha foam was amazing though, it was a subtle sweet flavor with strong quality matcha flavor. Definitely a treat here.
This is one of the top spots in the city for authentic Taiwanese boboa tea. There is so much variety in the menu. In addition they carry other Taiwanesw fruit drinks and teas. They also have Taiwan waffle ice cream which is nothing like traditional American waffles. Once the "outside" opens up this will be a cool spot to hang out with friends
Update: I went back to Tsaocaa for the second time. I don't know when they started it but they had two self-order machines there. It was just like the ones at McDonalds. Big screen and easy to navigate. What I like about Thai place is the variety of the flavors, however there are so many unfamiliar flavor names there so if they can add a short description on the screen I think many people will find it helpful! For example, I don't know what "Fragrans" but if it had a brief explanation I may have been open to try it. "King of tea" sounds delicious but still I had no clue what it would be like (I still ordered it though) Their service was good again and the tea was ready for me in a few minutes. Will go back.
I'm sure this experience would be much more special during normal non-COVID times. For now, Tsaocaa is operating out of Meet Noodles a few doors down and orders have to be made online or on their touch screen in the entryway. We ordered at the touch screen and waited about 20 minutes in our car for a text to confirm our order was ready. We followed the great reviews to this tasty adventure. Out hearts were set on ordering the Korean shaved ice like we had had in Seoul last year but it's not currently available on the menu. In its place we ordered the mango tofu, strawberry cheese topped shaved ice and jasmine boba green tea. All three were delicious. I'd recommend ordering the strawberry shaved ice with less than full sugar (the cheese topping was a salty and delicious contrast to the sweet shaved ice!). The thing I love about this business is how many popular Asian desserts you can find under one roof- from fruit tofu and boba teas to jellies and milk teas. We'll be back when the Korean shaved ice magic resumes.
Absolutely love this place, their drinks are just amazing. My favorite is the brown sugar bubble tea... you won't regret that choice!!! I also really like their desserts, again so good! I also don't mind ordering in the store as they have kiosk to order from. You can also order online as well! Pro tip: get their drink cards for a frequent customer
Everything about Tsaocaa is so convenient now! I assume they have the same owner or have a partnership with Meet Noodles because they are operating out of Meet Noodles now. Originally, my tea leaked because of the lid but now they are super secure and have a leak proof mouthpiece that you can open and close. I finally got the Cheese Mango Tea and experienced the cheese foam. It's a very acquired taste and although I didn't love it, it was a unique taste. I also love the convenient, perfect-sized plastic bag for your drinks. Be sure to get your tea fix and order noodles with your drink! read more

During COVID, Tsaocaa has switched to takeout only (though there is a nice bench right outside for sitting) and is actually operating from Meet Noodles in the same strip mall. You either order on the Meet Noodles website ahead of time or use the electronic kiosk in the store. So there is really no contact with the employees inside, though you can see them working hard! The place was churning out orders and even though we ordered with the kiosk, the drinks came out quickly I appreciate the diversity of flavors and toppings offered that are really hard to come by in Indianapolis. This included milk tea with fresh taro and conjac boba (these are a bit of an acquired taste, instead of being chewy like regular boba they are like a crunchy jelly. Don't order this by mistake if you're looking for regular boba!). The peach green tea was a little too sweet for me, despite being 25% sweet. It seems to use some sort of chunky peach preserves instead of fresh peach. read more
The BEST milk tea you will ever have. I try to get something new every time I go, and I can say I have loved each drink I've gotten. I love that you place your order yourself at one of the two machines they have and you can customize it however you like it. It is always super quick in receiving your drink and everyone is always so nice. They also offer a punch card. You get a punch for each drink you purchase. Once you fill up your card, you get a free drink. Also, you get a free drink on your birthday & you do not have to sign up for anything, just show that it's your birthday! They have variety of teas available, to name a few: milk tea, fruit tea, slushies, yogurt. They also offer egg waffles, which are so delicious! I highly recommend checking them out! read more

I have been craving some bubble tea and a visit to Tsaocaa was much needed! My husband got the Caramel Bubble Milk Black Tea with Dark Brown Sugar while I tried something new from my usual and got a Peach Green Tea with Peach Boba. The peach green tea was delicious and refreshing, I think it will be a new summer staple for me! The peach boba was one of those bursting bobas where it's liquid in the center and it bursts in your mouth upon contact. It was good but I think my personal preference is still the traditional chewy boba. I don't regret trying it but now I know The ordering process was super easy, you do have to go to meetnoodlesusa.com to order instead of tsaocaa indy's website as well as the pick up location is at meet noodles. They have rearranged the tables to ensure social distancing between the customers and the employees as well as every employee I saw had a face mask on. They place your order on the table when ready for you to grab read more
It's like having a piece of California here in Indiana. My friend and I got the Caramel Bubble Milk Black Tea with Dark Brown Sugar on the recommendation of the cashier. The drink was flavored well and the boba (tapioca balls) were the right texture, soft but still a little chewy. The servings are a good size for the price and the lids have a convenient sip or straw (both small and large) option. The service is friendly and quick. I'll definitely go back to try more drinks and the shaved ice once the weather gets warmer. read more
The global boba tea phenomenon takes Indianapolis by storm. Or by a light shower. This is part of a chain that just opened up here in Indy. I don't know the brave soul who decided that this would survive here, but he/she has a titantium pair. I would not have invested money in this place in Indy - I'm skeptical that there's a critical mass of customers here. In Los Angeles, places like this are all over the place. I was in one where a couple of white cops walked in, ordered boba tea, and sat around slowly consuming them. Imagine two white IMPD cops walking into this place in their uniforms, ordering boba tea, and then enjoying them in public. They would be teased more than if they had shown up to work in pink ear muffs. I hope this place makes it. read more

We were craving for boba tea and stumbled across this shop! They have a large selection of milk teas and desserts, including my favorite Korean shaved ice! The store itself is hidden in an off-putting strip mall, but don't be fooled. The inside is well lit, clean, and with a modern design. We tried three different boba teas (jasmine green milk tea, taro milk tea, and ruby milk tea) and loved them all. They are very traditional in taste and are not overly sweet like some of the other milk tea shops! The mango shaved ice was also very good. The ice is interestingly shaven very finely, not like the traditional chunky bits of ice. It made it a smoother consistency which we loved. We only wished it included more traditional toppings like red bean paste or mochi. Regardless, this place was a hit and we will definitely be back for more! read more

One of the best boba place around Indy. Been here for a few times and tried a few drinks. Caramel bubble milk black tea - this is like really really sweet and I dont really like it Uji matcha with match foam - if you're a matcha lover, you're gonna love this! It's really good! Taro milk tea - THE BEST TARO MILL TEA I EVER HAD. You can really taste the taro and it's not too sweet (ordered 50% sugar) Mashed taro milk tea - Taste almost the same as taro milk tea but there's taro pieces in there. Overall, it's a good bubble tea place just that it's a little bit pricey read more
Favorite boba place of all time! Finally an all dedication to boba and different asian pastries. I really love this place. They offer a great variety of bobas from milk tea to fruit teas. The occasional cream cheese and matcha foam teas. All their teas are non dairy which is a great option for folks with dairy restrictions. The place is modern and simple decor. There's board games to play in case folks are interested in staying longer. They have a noodle shop nearby if you want to get food! It's on my list to try places! The staff is well and super nice. Depending on the day, you may experience a long wait, but that is perfectly fine read more
My first experience here was not the best. The times I have come thereafter have been great, which is the reasoning for my updated review. The teas are AMAZING and I think i'm addicted. My favorite are the cheese teas. I have had the strawberry and lychee, although I preferred the strawberry, the lychee was very good as well. I am excited to try the other flavors in the future. The place is usually crowded which is a good sign and for good reason. I will definitely continue going there and I am glad I am able to update my review and give them the credit they deserve. read more

This is probably the best bubble tea place in Indy. If you aren't familiar with milk tea or bubble tea, it's a trend that started in Taiwan and has since spread all across the world. Tsaocaa has a variety of teas and sweets that will cater to consumers who love milk tea, and those who may not like dairy and tea together, i.e. the fruity drinks. You can customize how sweet you'd like your drink, the add-ins to enhance your tea experience, and also the ice level. I do find that their teas are on the sweeter side, so I like to order them at half sweet, but to each their own! My favorite tea is the Passionfruit and Lime green tea, and I also enjoy the Cheese Strawberry tea. The interior is very clean, but it is usually very busy, so you may or may not find seats to sit and hang out. There are also games that you can play while sipping on your tea or eating any of the sweets (rolled ice or shaved ice). If you do stop by and find that you like their drinks, they do have punch cards. Purchase nine drinks, and your tenth one is free! read more
Tsaocaa is a cute place to stop in if you're craving a sweet treat and want something different. Their bubble tea is the best bubble tea I've found around Indy so far and their menu is huge, so you'll be sure to find something no matter your preferred flavor profile. Pro tip, you can ask them to adjust the sweetness based on whatever you want, which is great since their drinks are generally exceptionally sweet. The shop is cute and always very clean. There's plenty of room and a variety of tables to spread out on for work or with friends. I have never found the people who work there particularly friendly or helpful, and service is on the slower side, but my bubble tea always comes out consistently delicious. Check out Tsaocaa next time you're in the market for bubble tea and you won't be disappointed! read more

Having recently moved to Indianapolis from Seattle, I've had my fair share of incredible bubble tea (it's everywhere)! Here in Indy, it's proven very challenging to find. I was thrilled when I found this gem and couldn't pronounce the name! The authenticity of it is baked into every aspect of the organization and the drinks. THE LOCATION: Right off the bat, walking into the building, it's minimal, yet very inviting and comfortable! Sometimes these beverage places don't really have that vibe that makes you want to linger, but I could absolutely hang out here with friends or a date. I love that they have a porch as well. Not sure if it's theirs or the next door neighbor's, but either way, the outdoor seating makes this place a gem for summer nights! THE PEOPLE: Everyone working here is so friendly. They warmly invited me in when I got there and helped walk me through the specials on their menu. One of the girls there (not sure if she was the owner?) spent time too telling me more about how long they've been there and seemed genuinely excited for me to try it! I love when people are passionate about what they do. THE DRINKS: I ended up going with the Oreo and caramel milk tea which, frankly, I was a little nervous about. It seemed like a lot going on for a simple milk tea with boba. That said... my first words after I walked out and took my first sip were "....*expletive*... this is amazing!!". It was absolutely fantastic! The caramel and Oreo were more of accents and didn't overpower the purity of the milk tea. Gosh I loved it. I want another. Right now. They nailed the milk foam as well, which many places don't. It has that sweet and salty thing going on that the authentic locations have, proving to me that they're for real! The pearls were soft and delicious as well. The cups themselves randomly are remarkably high quality. The lid especially allows for both sipping from one side and using a straw on the other side. I'm a big fan of the cup tech they use. The cups are long and tall, robust, and super easy to hold which sounds strange, but you just need to experience it! They're part of the whole experience. OVERALL: Everything about this place screams excellence. This is going to quickly become my favorite bubble tea spot and not just because options are limited. It's truly fantastic! read more

I've said this in another review, and I'll say it again: I don't know what authentic boba is supposed taste like. I've never made boba, I've never made bubble tea from scratch, so I take the word of friends and authorities. What I CAN say with confidence is that from what I can tell and know: Tsaocaa is good. Not just good, it's...exquisite. It's one of the few places where the flavors you're told you're getting are really what you're getting. It's also one of the places where I'd go for the tea, NOT the boba. And that's speaking volumes, let me tell you. While the jasmine was a bit strong for my liking, the fruit-infused teas (some of their most popular) are by far my favorite. I can't personally do milk teas but I've been told their Caramel Bubble Milk Black Tea is a game-changer. They also have a punchcard, which I'm determined to fill up as quickly as possible. Although nestled in an unassuming strip mall and a little hard to find, Tsaocaa delivers on all fronts. (At the moment, they're re-open for pickup only through Meet Noodles, a few doors down. Ordering is simple with a touchscreen kiosk!) read more

I almost went to the Chicago location when I was visiting my sister and was so bummed when we last minute couldn't go. I was so excited when I stumbled across the Indy location through yelp! My boyfriend is half Korean and gets a bubble tea every chance he gets. I brought him to this location with me and we loved it! We went specifically to enjoy bubble tea while on our computers. Loved the interior design. There is an outlet at every table which is convenient. This place is a hangout for families and friends. There are magazines and board games. My boyfriend spotted the game janggi which he described to me as the Korean version of Chess. It was really busy and all the tables were taken while we were ordering. We almost went to their outdoor table but were able to snag a table just in time. There are so so many drink combinations. For someone unfamiliar, I would probably say there are too many combinations given there are not a lot of pictures. I tried to ask questions, but the staff member seemed confused and wasn't able to answer them. I tried to look at other yelper's orders to pick something out and noticed there were differing sizes but I could not see which drinks were which size on the menu. I ordered the green tea milk tea with bubbles thinking it was the matcha one (but they are different). I didn't like the green tea one very much, but the ruby milk tea with amber bubbles was a little better. Overall, I took off a star because the drinks were a little pricey given there was no guidance on how/what to order with so much variance on the menu. We would go again if we were in the area, but would not go out of our way to get here. read more
Ok...this place is pretty legit. Their fruit teas are incredible. My daughter and I walked in on a Friday afternoon and had a great experience. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. Since it was our first time we had lots of questions and they answered each one and gave us great suggestions on what to try. There are a ton of tea, milk tea, topping and dessert options. We ended up deciding on the colorful fruits green tea which has fresh cut fruit in it! and the More Than See You (Ice Grapefruit tea) which had a slushie type consistency. Both were hella good with just the right amount of sweetness. The shop has a very clean, modern atmosphere. It gives off a very peaceful vibe. Drinks are a bit on the pricier side, but well worth every penny. I can't wait to come back and try some of their milk teas and desserts! read more

10/10 BEST BOBA IN INDY!!! This is legit and you know how some places you can't really taste the tea? You definitely can here. It's located next to Castleton mall right in its own shopping lot - in front of a Viet grocery store I believe. The decor inside is amazing; lit up w signs and board games. Lots of options and customizable. Plenty of seating and the esthetic is great inside to take pictures. read more

THE best boba you can find!!! I love boba and this place by far has the best - I've been to many cities trying boba and this beats all! It's a little hard to know what to order because there aren't any product descriptions, but once you find what you love, you'll be addicted! I generally get milk tea and would highly recommend their caramel brown sugar milk tea, or king of milk tea! read more

They told me they use non-dairy milk in the milk tea, but I'm not sure if that fully answers your question.…
