This one is even smaller! It has eight gates total, but no jet bridges. You board and deplane using a ramp and walk on the tarmac. Super cool if you're a plane or airport nerd, and I bet kids love it. It's a bit tougher for people who have mobility issues, but the staff make it work. We landed around 9pm on the Friday of Labor Day weekend. Our flight was full and seemed to contain every person who was incapable of understanding how to use a ramp. It took forever to get off the plane just because so many people were confused. I didn't know it was so hard for able-bodied people to use a ramp but hey, I learned something new this weekend! Exiting was super quick and easy, and because it took so long to deplane the baggage claim was already running when we got there. We got our bags immediately and got picked up by my partner's family. When we flew out, the process was just as easy. We didn't check any bags because we didn't need to. I have Precheck so security was a breeze. My partner barely made it through on time because the standard security line was much longer. I heard people saying they'd never seen it that long before, so I'm chalking it up to being a holiday. Another walk on the tarmac, another ramp, and I was in my seat. Quick and easy. Because we have family in Durango we will likely be flying in and out of this airport a lot, which I have absolutely no issues with. It's a great little airport!

They have a little library/lounge area to relax before your flight with a few vending machines, technically it's part of the Zebra's Sports Grill but no one is there just a rest area. You can even borrow a book from their library (which are 2 bookcases with a some good novels) return it after your done or even take it with you on if you want to continue reading it, I guess this is COOL. To get to the rest of the Zebra's Sports Grill you have to exit the terminal area and just walk next door.

As you'll notice, it's small - and that's fine. They even have a lending library which is a nice touch. However, as Great Mistakes (as they shall be known) is the only carrier you'll notice that they are notorious (moreso than most it seems) for flight delays and arbitrary cancellations. This equals a bit of layover time at Four Corners. They have vending machines for candy, drinks and even a seemingly home made rig for Keurig....however, there are no change machines. Anywhere. So, unless you have some spare singles from a previous venture to a 'gentleman's establishment' you may be a touch SOL on any food or beverage. However, as you'll be most likely flying GM, you may not want to have anything in your stomach anyway.

With the snow falling & the vacation time quickly approaching, I figured I should get my thoughts out there so there's more than one review for those planning their winter trips. I'm from California so I would consider Long Beach airport tiny but compared to this place, LB airport seems like the Taj Mahal. There are only 2 terminals & 1 security checkpoint so make sure that you arrive there early to get through the line...well maybe not 'international flight' early but a good hour would be good if you have to check-in your bags. Also, the seating at each gate is very minimal so you'll likely be sitting separate from your group or standing. I wouldn't recommend claustrophobic fliers to head here or weak-stomach fliers for that matter because the planes are very small so you feel all the turbulence. It's enough to make you want to close your eyes & breathe in & out of a paper bag. What I appreciated about this airport the most was the friendly staff. Everyone is very helpful & kind, which is a great thing when you fly into an unknown town.

Soon someone came to the desk. it was clear he typically works out on the tar mat. It quickly occurred to me that all the employees have a hand in multiple tasks. All very friendly. Fast forward to my flight. They requested a volunteer to give a seat up for 500. Since I spent 800. to fly out for my dads wife's passing. I thought I would try to make it count. Not realizing I would miss my connection and it was the last to CT. The employee's worked very hard to make the experience appealing. I wish I new all of their names. There was also a gentleman on standby in which he was pulled off the plane as well. All due to the heat and size of the plane. This gentleman was an employee of United Airlines and he played a role in assisting the other UA employees in the arrangements for flights and hotel reservations. They increased my flight voucher to $1000.00 along with setting me up at The Westin! Along with $50.00 worth of food vouchers. I thank all of you for working so hard for me! Great Job!
