I'm going to give you three stars because you transported me all over Durango. However...You forced me to write this review. It might not even matter. Your drivers have been so nice to me. We did not have a nice conversation today on the phone. You hung up on me after I apologized about my credit card situation. Which I worked out in less than five minutes. It was a $70 ride and you were going to call the police on me? Seriously? I'm some weirdo tourist. And my mother did not raise me to screw you over. Since I've been here I have shelled out HUNDREDS to your company. HUNDREDS. This is how you treat your customers? Hanging up on them and saying you won't transport me anymore when I have payment right away? I thought people in Durango were different than this. You're shady and I don't get it. What happened is I haven't seen a cab here for over two tears. They certainly aren't to be seen at the airport when planes land -- on or off schedule. And I used to see them running about town, now zero for the last few years. Now, I have never taken this cab. It might have been a good experience. I don't know. But I don't think they exist anymore. I landed in Durango CO yesterday and called Durango Cab for a lift from the airport to La Quinta Inn (20 mins away). I left a voicemail since nobody picked up. Their advertisements are all over the luggage pick up area so I would assume they are reliable and in need of business. Unfortunately that was not the case. After 10 mins, I called again and a man picked up. He told me they are "FULL for the night" and gave me a 3rd party taxi cab phone number. Horrible experience. I have never had a taxi company that denies service and is full. They must be a very small company. Nonetheless, never again. Unreliable. read more

I was quoted a rate but then was charged more than the original rate in additional fees since my address was wrong and the manager would not work with me. 800 taxi ride for 120 miles.... Called day ahead to make a reservation, gave credit card and got email confirm. Called morning of trip, again confirmed. Call from Denver 90 min before arrival, confirmed again. Arrived Durango, no cab waiting and dispatcher said no record of my reservation. Driver said this is regular problem. read more

So we get a quote to get into town from the airport with this company. After waiting, the taxi driver shows up, but what? We can't go?? Then he tells us we have to wait for other people... When we complain that that's not what we were quoted for, he starts yelling (apparently incapable of a normal conversation or dealing with conflict), says FINE and leaves us at midnight without an option. There are no cabs at the airport, you have to call ahead of time. We shared our story with others in town and everyone seemed to know what a crappy company it is. There are other options in Durango, with very lovely people, do not even THINK about using these guys, nor think that their behavior is common in Durango. Really a great place! read more

Literally the worst experience ever and we didn't even get a ride. Stuck in the middle of nowhere in the dark and called for a lift to Durango. Said they would be there in 20 minutes. Yet, an hour and half later we called them - they didn't let us know- that they were thirty minutes away. At this point we could hear bears and coyotes in the distance and were scared. When we called they were incredibly rude. We understand that businesses get slammed with calls, but this was unacceptable. Really rude, I would give zero stars if I could. They cancelled my cab last minute because my flight was late and they don't track flight delays. I was stuck at the airport at night, on a snowy day with no other mode of transportation. I had called them earlier in the day to let them know I was delayed but the message didn't go to the dispatcher, and they left without calling me or leaving me a message even to let me know they weren't picking me up. My only regret was not paying more attention to the bad reviews I saw. read more

I called a couple of hours before needing a ride from downtown to the airport. The dispatcher was friendly. The cab arrived (a few minutes early!!! Yay!!), the car was immaculate and I had a great conversation on the ride to the airport. I will definitely call them next time I am in town. read more

One hopes to never have to deal with a situation where a cab is dire. I had called this company hoping to receive a safe ride home. It was late, dark and cold. They charged me 90 dollars for a 15 minute ride to take me HOME !! On top of all that, the driver drove off with my cell phone, and when I called 2 minutes after he left from the business phone he stopped at so I could pick up dinner, he said he wouldn't come back to drop it off. He was busy with other clients ! I even had dinner for my family with me ! They truly do NOT care about families being fed, or cell phones being taken. On top of all that, when I called to complain the following day, I was treated like, " Oh well. Call a different cab next time." Didn't even attempt to rectify the situation. Go with UBER !!! OR any other cab company. I honestly should have called the police, but didn't feel like going through all that trouble. read more

I had scheduled a pickup several days in advance of my early morning flight because I needed to be picked up from a rural address with limited cellular access, and noted this to the dispatcher when scheduling. When the time came to be picked up that morning, no car arrived. I called the cab company with my one intermittent bar of service, and was informed that no such appointment had been conveyed to the driver on duty. Because of my rural location, the failure to maintain the appointment added another 45 minutes of waiting outside in the dark, causing me to miss my flight. I was still charged the cab fare. Will not be making this mistake again. read more

If I could give this company 0 stars I would. I witnessed a Durango cab driver be reckless during a white out a few days ago. His bad driving habits caused another driver to go into the ditch and this Durango cab driver didn't just stop, he turned around and started laughing at the other man and flipping him off as he was stuck in the ditch. This durango cab driver stayed stopped in the road watching and laughing as cars stopped and ask if they could help get the vehicle out of the snow. As I stopped, myself, to see if the man in the ditch was okay, I noticed the recognizable logo on the rude drivers car and couldn't believe why any company would hire such an immature, incompetent, reckless man to drive around people, especially during such dangerous driving conditions. Not only that but the receptionist of the company defended him and blamed everything on the man who went into the ditch. No sense of remorse. Disgusting behavior. read more

WARNING, a poor review warrants a harassing phone call with threats. A week or two I authored a review about service I received in April after knee replacement. To my surprise, the owner telephoned me today to tell me that the distance to my house was more like 5.1 miles or $4.25/mile. She was upset that I hadn't posted sooner but I actually did and that was my second post and this is my third. It reminded me that although I had clearly had surgery and was in a wheelchair and using crutches that the driver didn't bother to get out of his seat. The owner then told me that that they couldn't even respond to my add and that they were going to hand my complaint off to their attorney. BRING ON THE ATTORNEY and you can expect the same unless, in the unlikely event your review ranks better then the 1.5 that this cab company has averaged and earned (or not earned as they can't even get the door for a customer in need). If you want poor service and you're fine with a pick up fee and no less then $4.25/mile then they might come through. Otherwise, a poor review will be sent to their attorney and, [you can expect a call from their attorney]. If I could post a recording of the the phone call I would because it's so comical and unbelievable that I fear my readers won't buy what I'm saying. I'd love to give the "mom and pop," local establishment a glowing review and rating but under no uncertain terms is it warranted in this case. My Uber drivers have always been ranked favorably in my reviews. read more

This cab company is a prime example of why Uber and Lyft have overtaken the traditional cab business model. If you are reading this, don't hire this company unless you appreciate getting screwed up the as$ on cab fares unnecessarily and rude customer service. My husband called and got a quote for $110 for their cab for one person, 3 bags from Durango La Plata to Pagosa Springs. When we received our receipt via email, we were charged $234 w/ tip included. You read that right, $234 for a 54 mile ride. Compare that to Uber which I just checked and the fare is $96. Pagosa Cab (which we normally take, but my husband confused the two companies) charges a flat rate of $80. I called Pagosa/Cortez Cab and was met with a hostile attitude when I questioned the astronomical charge. We called our card company to dispute the charge as we were quoted $110 + tip. Get with the times Pagosa/Cortez Cab, or you'll soon be overtaken like most cab companies. read more
