Other taxi company have not showed up (Buck Horn Limousine) after I scheduled a day before. I was waiting for a taxi for very late at night (4am). No one showed up at the hotel (from Buck Horn). Friend booked airport shuttle, confirmed, and they still did not pick him up for airport shuttle. Almost missed his flight! no communication, just didn't show up. there are limited shuttles to the airport in Durango so if you're gonna do a car service, be there or don't take the job. Missing flights really messes up travel plans. read more

Called Durango Cab yesterday for a pick up and they were full and unreliable (see my other review) and referred me to Animas Transportation. A man picked up and said that he is on the way to pick a group up already and he will call me after he is done with picking them up and dropping them off. Ok, that's fine. I waited a whole hour at the airport with no callback. Finally, I called him a second time and he said he just arrived at the airport and waiting for the group (1 hour later??? Not sure if he was commuting very far away). He said he will ask the group to see if they mind us sharing the cab with them. Waited another 10-15 mins with no callback from him. I finally gave up and rented a car from Durango Airport. It is unreliable to rely on a single person to come pick you up. If you are flying into Durango and you don't plan on renting a car, make sure you book a ride in advance (they still may or may not show up) and have alternative means of transportation. After being stranded at the airport until 1045pm, I decided to rent a car after unreliable Durango Cab and Animas Transportation. Got my rental car and got to the hotel in 20 mins. Rhonda is cool. I don't know what she had going on today with the delays for our ride but it was fine until DARREN exhibited the most unprofessional rude evil spirited behavior I've personally EVER ENDURED!!! After expressing frustration with our delays, having to call multiple times to ask for an ETA or really any info and being hung up on, he arrived in a van and threatened to cancel our ride and make us unload. Just because one of us expressed slight anxiety about missing our flight and their delays, which they did acknowledge, by the way. I mean, to stand there and tell us all to unload just because of a VERY polite remark about the delay, when we have a pregnant woman and a child in a stroller with us, that's just down right inhospitable. If you're in Durango I can't tell you not to use this company because rideshare in the area is very limited, all I will say is beware and have backups in mind in case Darren the psychotic schizophrenic has another episode. Yesterday, I was with a group of people that have also left 1 and 2 star (She was being nice because of our eventual driver Rhonda) ratings. The owner/driver/?? named Darren/Darin/(however you spell it) seemed to be nice on the phone as far as I could tell as I was actually on the phone but was overhearing the conversation. We have a reservation setup but had to call a couple of times to get status because the driver did not show up at the scheduled time. We called again to get a new time that was 20 minutes after the scheduled time to which we had to agree because there was no other transportation selections that we could make so that we could catch our flight. After the 2nd time had passed, we made another call to get status and was told that someone (Darren??) would get a van right then and would meet us in about 4 minutes. As mentioned earlier, even though we were starting to run late, it appeared that the phone call went okay or as expected with it possibly being a busy day for Animas. However, it seems that once Darren arrived, the whole tone changed. I don't want to think that it is because Darren was being presented with a bunch of black and brown people that needed to get to the airport but one of the first things out of his mouth once he got there was that he should charge more for the ride. Since we felt that we did everything as expected from a customer, we replied that it would be helpful if the driver was on time. This of course didn't sit well with Darren and his reply was that WE should be more respectful and should be appreciative that he even showed up and threatened to remove our bags (that were already in his van) and leave us. Of course, we had no choice but to accept this attitude as we did NOT want to stay another minute in Durango. To top if off, I guess Darren was so disgusted at the fact that he would have to take us to the airport (even though he was the one who offered on the phone) that he got another driver, Rhonda, to show up so that she could switch cars with him (i.e. he left the van that we were in so that Rhonda could take over the driving). Again, I don't want to say it was a race thing but if it walks like a duck, smells like a duck and quacks like a duck that it is most likely a duck. This is the ONLY black spot that I experienced during my time in Durango. Everyone else was very nice, friendly and accommodating during our time in Durango and Silverton. It's unfortunate that situations like this can deter someone from visiting such a beautiful place. BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE! Get your transportation from ANYWHERE but this place. Also please note that this is a relatively small town and it is VERY difficult to get transportation to/from the Durango airport. You may just need to rent a car!! read more

Driver was 25 mins behind schedule to pick up our crew who had a train to catch (would have cost us hundreds of dollars to miss). He never called or text to let us know he was running behind. I had to reach out to him. In the end, we had to take a rental car as we simply couldn't risk it. Absolutely unacceptable. I made a reservation over a month in advance and spoke with Stacey the morning of to confirm. The ride never showed. When I called, they did not have my reservation on their schedule. I waited an hour for someone to come, but by that time, the weather got worse and the driver could not go up the mountain. I was then forced to find a hotel for the night. Had they been at the airport when I scheduled and reserved, I would not be out $187 for a hotel I wouldn't have needed. read more

His flight arrived late AND they were held on the plane after landing AND baggage claim was slow. But the driver was there, waiting. She drove through snow (and my son said she was a great driver). We were bumped from a United flight and the United representative called this place for us--for transportation to the hotel that United also booked for us. United printed us out vouchers for the quoted price (with Master Card numbers). The driver demanded another 30 dollars per person, and then called her "boss" He said, "If they don't have 60$ they should get out of Durango". So we got out of that situation and got an Uber for 27$ (Saved 100$) total. Beware with these guys!!! Awful, and the worst experience we have had in Durango, ever! read more

My husband contacted Animus by email and got a response back that someone would pick us up. The lady did pick us up at the airport ONTIME! She was pleasant and friendly. I scheduled a apt with animas transportation I did my part getting all important documents turned in to them I called two days prior and spoke to Daren and confirmed my apt. the fallowing morning at 3 am me and my eight year old son waited for our ride to show through animas transportation and they never showed we were suppose to go up to Denver childrens hospital I called the fallowing morning and spoke to Daren again he said that his driver said I called and canceled my ride and that is a complete lie he was very loud and very rude with me. this company does not care for ur needs and they have no issues with leaving you stranded and not caring about any apts not even medical apts very unprofessional and will lie to save themselves . This place does not deserve even a star. I should have read other reviews before trusting them for pick up. I called yesterday afternoon to make reservation for pick up at 4a this morning at the local hotel that I was staying because my flight was cancelled and no rental car was available. Darren took the reservation with my name, phone number and the hotel info and said Bill will be the one who will do the 4a pick up. By 4a, Bill or no one came from Animas Transportation and couldn't reach anyone on the phone.. kept getting "all circuits are busy" message. By 4:30a, still no sign of anyone or calls from Animas. Thank goodness, I was able to hitch a ride from a nice group who were heading to the airport for 5:45a flight. Otherwise, I would have missed my flight and who knows if I was able to be able to get on other flights. Poor and no professional service!! read more

Better name: "Stranded Transportation." We booked, by phone from Michigan, a taxi to pick us up at the airport on Sunday evening. Waited, waited, no taxi. When we called them, at first no one answered. On our second try, finally got someone and they had no record of us having booked anything. We'd already been waiting for more than half an hour. They said it would be another half an hour. We found another ride and called back to cancel the car they were sending, but it was clear they hadn't yet sent it! The ride was great although she was about 10 minutes late to pick me up. She had great a conversation with me. Then when she dropped me off she didn't have receipt paper with her. For 5 days I have been calling to have the email sent with a receipt since that is what they said they could do. I have bee b hung up on for stating how long I've been waiting on a receipt. Supposedly it will be sent to me today. I have heard this every day since I took the vehicle to the airport. I do not suggest this business. read more
