The booking process was easy and update emails were sent prior to the start informing us of who our guide would be and where to meet him. Your guide (sherpa extrodonair) Glen Shoemaker was phenomenal and made sure that we knew where we were going each morning by doing a route review for us. He selected prime camping locations and had all our gear out of the trailer and ready for us to set up when we arrived. The tour provided amenities were set up and waiting for use, including a cleaned and stocked fire pit. Trailer and tent placement were carefully selected to maximize protection from prevailing winds and the intense sun. Overall this was an excellent experience! Matt, Glen deserves a raise! ;-)

Would I ride the trail again yes, Make sure you have a map and GPS . With Hermosa Tours NO! The campsites were fine no issues, and the waste management was no issue. Then why 2 stars ? Contacting Matt , has been less the desirable. I was leaving country for 2 weeks before the ride and returning with 5 days to prep. So I called a couple times before I received a return call with questions on the meeting ,location and parking - I was told don't worry about it -read your packet when you receive it. We ask Matt to cater , charge $280.00 per person -Not a great cook -And we still have a food bill to pay . I have done other self supported rides were the food was included in the price , some cook for you some you cook your own . Charges a lot and does not include food . But he takes part in eating food we paid for . We brought beer and offered it to the guides , But when I drank 1 of theirs I heard about for 2 days , My ice box , I paid the food bill , you ate the food -Get Over It ! Our mistake ! Matt would give a briefing about the ride every morning , not very accurate. I wounder if he really rode the trail. When we had some maintenance issues with the bikes , He did not step forward and offer any help . The other guide Roger jumped in - Great Job. Matt seem to be irritated when questions were ask in reference to the trail , his answers left us questioning his knowledge of the ride . What I have learn from this if the guide service seems flaky or they seem more interested in the greenback . Then in quality of the customer service and customer experience , Lesson learned .

Don't over think it!!! Buy your day pass and give this place a try!!! The pricing is affordable. We…read morepaid $22 for a day pass with shoes and powder. Even though we only climbed for about 2 hours, it was worth it. Our kids were tired by 1-1.5 hours. Perhaps other climbers go for a longer time but 1.5 hours would be more than enough time to have some great climbs. Our visit to Gravity Lab was our kids' first time climbing/bouldering. It had been on their bucket list. We arrived later in the night and Luke from the front desk greeted us. He was very informative from the costs, what to expect as far as how the rental climbing shoes should fit (aka they should be tight), and provided us powder for our kids to take around in a sac. Luke then gave us a tour of the facility. He informed us on the different levels of climbing and where our kids could start. He also focused a lot on the safety of properly falling, how to connect themselves to the clips to aid climb (not belay but not sure what it's called), etc. Luke also took time to coach our children whenever he had a moment. He was working the front desk, helping other customers, cleaning the place, etc. Gravity Lab got lucky with such a great employee and face of the company. He was patient and descriptive when he encouraged our kids. He cared and I think that's what made our experience so amazing at Gravity Lab. He also helped our kids with the belay and gave them confidence to make it to the top of the more difficult paths. Gravity Lab was clean, organized, and brightly lit. The other customers were welcoming and kind to us. Our kids and the other climbers all kept out of each other's paths on the wall. The restrooms were up kept and neat. I can appreciate that as someone who is a bit OCD. In addition to the above compliments I have written above, I think it's important to note that this place is not only a great place for adults and those advanced in climbing skills. We witnessed some experienced climbers accomplish some amazing skills. But Gravity Lab is equally perfect for children and even children like ours who have no experience. As you can see in our videos, our son made it to the top of one of the crack climbs with the guidance of Luke; and our daughter, who had been encouraged by Luke on what she could improve on, and she made it to the top with bouldering. Gravity Lab also resets their paths every week for different walls. You won't be tired of their gym! Oh I forgot to mention the building is two stories in certain areas; they have yoga and a weight lifting section. Thanks to our experience of Gravity Lab, our kids want to continue climbing at our local climbing gym. We are from California and visited Durango, Colorado. Looks like we'll be doing that. Thanks for the memories Gravity Lab and thanks for your exceptional customer service Luke. You made our first experience climbing a very memorable one.

There seemed to be an area for yoga too and some nights they have Latin nights. We really enjoyed coming here!
