The people were kind when I asked them a few things, although I couldn't always understand them with them accents and unpolished English. They have all kinds of baking ingredients, including cake layers. There are breads of all kinds. You can buy candies by the pound. Check out the deli meats, cheeses and cakes. There are bottles of juices. A frozen section contains small servings of different foods, including Herring. Plenty of canned goods ate stacked on the shelves. Check out this clean store.

Much bigger than it looks from outside. There's a lot to look through in this small store so take some time. A favorite section is the beer. It all is located in a small refrigerated section. There's all kinds of unfamiliar sounding beers so you aren't going to find cans of Natty Lite or shit like that. Beer of this quality here is pretty cheap. There's a few large bottles for about $2, and these are pretty large. Besides the beer they also have lots of coffee and pop. They have some varieties that you can't find anywhere else like it seems. Among the food is lots and lots of candy. It's about $2 for a good size bag and there's lots to choose from. The ingredients are in different languages but includes English too. It even has a produce section and the fruits and vegetables look fresh. They have a very large deli section. Cool place for getting European food. It can be hard to find because it's hard to see. This is in the shopping plaza that's at the corner of State and Pleasant Valley.

I got into the habit of ordering these specialty items on Amazon, simply out of convenience, but this year I decided I would try instead to support local businesses instead. Rather than running to Amazon when I needed a special spice, I scoured Yelp for local groceries that might have what I was looking for, and I found even more than I hoped to at Patel Brothers! I noticed immediately the store is spare, but clean and very organized. It was very easy to find the items I was looking for, and I was especially pleased to find they had fresh produce as well. I was really excited to find curry leaves here, which is used in a lot of Indian cooking, but I typically have a hard time finding them. At just $1 a bag. I felt like I hit the jackpot! I brought my husband along as well, and he stocked up on the great selection of snacks they had. I was also able to find all the spices I was looking for: Kashmiri chili powder, amchoor powder, and chaat masala. My only dismay was that all the spices are sold in pretty big bags, which I think would be appropriate for a family who uses these spices every day, but it would have been great if they had a bulk option instead so I can get a smaller amount. In any case, we came out with a great haul, and the cashier even offered us a freshly made samosa on our way out, which was delicious. Here's to supporting more local businesses in 2020, and the beauty that ethnic groceries have to offer!

I took one bite and tasted dirt- spit it out and as you see in the photos there's a fuzzy black mold in the food item I bought. This unfortunately shouldn't surprise me given the extremely long history of consistent food safety violations (publicly viewable on county website). The food was finger-licking good. We ordered a little bit of everything (for apps) and my favorite was the jumbo shrimp. I also had the prosciutto salad; not quite my speed but wasn't a bad dish. For the main I tried the NY strip; it was cooked to perfection and filling. One of my coworkers has foie gras added to their steak and I got to try it...I highly recommend adding that to you steak. The sides were baked potato (not bad) and mushrooms (so good.) For dessert I tried the tiramisu (excellent), crostada (not bad) and the cheesecake (one of the best cheesecakes I've had.) Since there was 5 of us, and we ordered the Gamberetti (jumbo shrimp) as an appetizer, I would have appreciated if our server would have indicated that each order only comes with 4. Awkwardly one of us (me) had to decline so the rest of the table could each have a piece. Instead, they could have pointed that out so we could have ordered two orders, or they could have offered to make an extra piece and charge us for it. I would recommend all steaks that we had, and would lean towards the Filet side of the porterhouse and the Ribeye being the best. The sliced baked potato was mid, but take that with a grain of salt because I am not bunch of a baked potato guy.
