Much bigger than it looks from outside. There's a lot to look through in this small store so take some time. A favorite section is the beer. It all is located in a small refrigerated section. There's all kinds of unfamiliar sounding beers so you aren't going to find cans of Natty Lite or shit like that. Beer of this quality here is pretty cheap. There's a few large bottles for about $2, and these are pretty large. Besides the beer they also have lots of coffee and pop. They have some varieties that you can't find anywhere else like it seems. Among the food is lots and lots of candy. It's about $2 for a good size bag and there's lots to choose from. The ingredients are in different languages but includes English too. It even has a produce section and the fruits and vegetables look fresh. They have a very large deli section. Cool place for getting European food. It can be hard to find because it's hard to see. This is in the shopping plaza that's at the corner of State and Pleasant Valley.

(This was formerly at a smaller store location on W. 130th Street). The new store is large and neatly organized offering everything from fresh produce to spices, frozen foods, kitchenware, and health & body care items. They have a large selection of Indian desserts and even eggless ready to go cakes. This store is a great addition to the area! No restrooms seen. Plenty of free parking. Open daily 10-9pm.

I got into the habit of ordering these specialty items on Amazon, simply out of convenience, but this year I decided I would try instead to support local businesses instead. Rather than running to Amazon when I needed a special spice, I scoured Yelp for local groceries that might have what I was looking for, and I found even more than I hoped to at Patel Brothers! I noticed immediately the store is spare, but clean and very organized. It was very easy to find the items I was looking for, and I was especially pleased to find they had fresh produce as well. I was really excited to find curry leaves here, which is used in a lot of Indian cooking, but I typically have a hard time finding them. At just $1 a bag. I felt like I hit the jackpot! I brought my husband along as well, and he stocked up on the great selection of snacks they had. I was also able to find all the spices I was looking for: Kashmiri chili powder, amchoor powder, and chaat masala. My only dismay was that all the spices are sold in pretty big bags, which I think would be appropriate for a family who uses these spices every day, but it would have been great if they had a bulk option instead so I can get a smaller amount. In any case, we came out with a great haul, and the cashier even offered us a freshly made samosa on our way out, which was delicious. Here's to supporting more local businesses in 2020, and the beauty that ethnic groceries have to offer!

I like that they have most of the things I need from raw material to prepared food. The owners are nice and friendly. I visit this place almost every weekend and always found what I was looking for. I have never had to ask the owners about anything but I am sure they are helpful if you ask them any questions. They also have occasional exhibits of jewelry of Indian origin if anyone is interested. A nice neighborhood grocery store.

I have had nothing but good experiences with the nice service they provide. Not only do they have halal products, but everything they have is fresh and clean. I am a college student so you know I need my groceries to be affordable, and the prices they have are mind boggling! This is at least the third time I've had taken of bite of something that should have been…read morerefrigerated but wa set out improperly and it ended up being rotten, moldy (today), or just fouled already. I took one bite and tasted dirt- spit it out and as you see in the photos there's a fuzzy black mold in the food item I bought. This unfortunately shouldn't surprise me given the extremely long history of consistent food safety violations (publicly viewable on county website). Sad they can't get it together after so many complaints.
