Since I'm a nomad, I'm constantly visiting new places and always looking for the best scoop around the country. My mission entails high priority research, to ensure the respective Icecream location meets the crucial criteria set forth by our founding fathers. Criteria includes, but is not limited too: -a wide array of flavors / options -unique choices or seasonal specials -fair prices -fun facilities & accessibility -sensational staff -Samples ... I am pleased to report the Dairy Grove marks all those boxes, and then some more! To start with, they have Dole Whip! So I no longer need to take a horrid Frontier Flight just to go to Disney Springs and get Dole Whip. I can just come here when in town! And you don't have to worry about that pesky Mickey Mouse and his Clubhouse delinquents stealing your icecream - trust me, we've received multiple companies.... I will note, Buyer Beware, the Dole whip flavors do change - they only offer two dole whip flavors per week, and post the flavors to the Facebook. Hopefully you have the Facebook if you're contemplating on going for a particular dole whip flavor. Beyond the Dole Whip, though I could go on and on, the icecream is fire as well. I got a bunch of scoops to try, including coffee, something super chocolaty with chips in it, pumpkin, and lemon cheesecake. All were phenomenal. I also got a scoop of Superman to go, and was pleasantly surprised that it's the real deal - a mix of flavors, not just food colored-chemically treated vanilla, like some of the other imposters out there. The location is convenient, right off Center Ridge Rd, with ample parking, and there's a drive through! There's also plenty of areas to sit outside, if you don't mind looking at the competition (pulp juice bar) next door. The hanging lights and neon signs make for a fun night time vibe. I didn't visit the restroom, or pay attention as to whether they allowed peasants to use it, but I will update this review next time I go to Dairy Grove. Overall , If you're looking for a good sweet treat, I highly recommend! Plus, This would be a fantastic place for a date, as long as neither of you are allergic or lactose intolerant.

When it's your turn, just say this: "OLD FASHIONED." Simple---that's all there is to it---the only thing to order. Regular soft-serve is also offered---and I'm sure it's probably very good, too, and the perfect choice for less descriminating kiddie and pooch palates. But it's the phenomenal Old Fashioned style that my 5 Stars are based on. Flavor: vanilla Sizes: small, medium, large Cone: sugar or cake (yellow) Price: about 2.00 to 4.00 (more than standard soft-serve) The best frozen custard EVER---maybe on earth. Cannot imagine how this recipe could be improved. It's impossible. This far and away exceeds in flavor, richness, smoothness, and quality, of what's offered at East Coast, Webers, and Rosati's, which are all much closer to my home. Went about 3 times to East Coast, once to the others, and haven't returned. Because it's a rare treat that I allow myself, when I have a taste for frozen custard this is where we go, and the only thing we've ever ordered. They have what's probably typically offered at these types of stands---standard soft-serve, sundaes, shakes, etc.---but never tried them. You could certainly have an Old Fashioned sundae or shake, but the purpose would be defeated---any syrup or fruit topping would only overpower the distinctive flavor of this unique custard. (Of the dozens of times family members and myself have visited, only a single time was it less than stellar. Very tiny bits of egg weren't completely broken down, but it didn't effect the flavor in any way.) About ten years ago they had hung a long banner across the front, advertising their "Old Fashioned" custard recipe as the one from the old EUCLID BEACH Amusement Park. Never had that one, but from what I've been told and what I've read, it was considered the best---the same way we and others we've told, feel about Dairy King's. This stand was discovered by my father---in the eyes of family and friends now, much like a modern day fairway-wood-wielding German equivalent of a 16th century Spanish conquistador---who happened to see that sign one day when driving home from a golf outing. He loved that original decades ago, so pulled in out of curiosity, and was soon taken back to those 1950's Euclid Beach days. An unofficial "ice cream expert", he had passed on all soft-serves until that day. If not for that roughly hand-printed, and obviously home-created banner, myself and dozens of others, might never have had the opportunuty to try the best frozen custard anywhere. I've just selflessly, perhaps foolishly, let you in on a best-kept-secret, and hope that it doesn't back-fire for me. I haven't seen that sign for 10 years, so whoever orders the Old Fashioned found out about it by word-of-mouth. Now I feel a little guilty at spilling the "vanilla beans". Kind of like coming upon a flourishing patch of truffles off a footpath in Rocky River Metroparks while walking my dog, and not keeping the discovery to myself. I'll probably end up paying for this one---maybe the next time that I visit those cone prices will be $10-15.00. It will still be worth it, but as soon as I get home, this review won't be updated, it will be REMOVED. And it would be wise not to post YOUR reviews. Once you taste this creamy fabulousness---one of the true "Wonders of the Dessert World"---you won't want to risk telling anyone else. And the absolutely LAST thing we'd want is to see this stand featured on Food Networks' Best Things---as well it could be---if we don't keep our mouths shut. (Chef Symon: Being a local---I doubt that you will, but if you ever happen to read this review---and end up sampling---PLEASE---I beg of you---don't tell a soul. Staff apologized for limited ingredients as they are packing to relocate to a new location in Highland Heights. I will definitely find out where that is and return! All came to $20 with a 20% tip as the service was very good. Generous portions and quick, efficient, and friendly service.
