Sami is the marketing director and was very knowledgeable in her field and answered all my questions and concerns. Everyone was warm, professional, and happy to answer questions. It's clear that they genuinely care about the residents and take pride in providing high-quality care and support. While this community is on the pricier side compared to some other options, the cost feels justified given the luxury atmosphere, beautiful surroundings, and the level of personalized treatment and attention residents receive. My father choked and died, while under the supposed care and supervision of staff in the Villagio…read moredining room. An autopsy was performed at the request of the investigating police and coroner officers and revealed that "a large 2 x 3/4-inch food bolus . . . consistent with steak" had been lodged in his throat and caused a choking death. The death followed the loss of my father's lower denture while in Villagio's care. Villagio supervising staff made assurances that a soft food diet would be provided while a replacement denture was made. In fact, the diet was not modified during the approximate 3 weeks without the denture. Nor was assistance regularly provided during meals. My father did not have the mental capacity to bathe, dress, walk or handle his dentures. He should not have been allowed to suffer and die in this manner while residing in what is represented to the public as a supervised memory care facility. While a Department of Social Services investigation has been undertaken concerning the actions of Villagio staff, it is unfortunate that Villagio, Capriana & Oakmont have not acknowledged or apologized for the death.

I have worked here for about 3 months now and it has been such a great experience. The Residents and staff have been such sweethearts to me. The level of care and compassion is ideal for our loved ones to reside in. The type of care the residents receive is immaculate, from care providers to dinner. I don't think I have been anywhere else where the staff and management work so well to build a solid foundation for our elderly. There are also LVNS and Med Techs that help the residents thrive as well and overall have had an awesome experience with the wholesome care that has been provided. They also offer palliative care for those needing extra help. Another thing Worth mentioning is that they offer support groups and many activities as the elderly with degenerative diseases progress, their level of care also progresses and it's provided right next door at Villagio. Thank you Capriana for the amazing work. I hope to someday retire in a place like this.

We tried to find a home on our own because financially we couldn't pay for extra help, it was already a strain knowing that we had to pay for assisted living. When I called, the representative, Dennis was very helpful to my family. He was very educated on the entire process and really explained everything to us. He seemed like he cared about finding the right home for our dad. He made everything so easy and was definitely a stress reliever for us. She came with us on the tours instead of "sending us off into the wild" on our own, the value of which is hard to put into words. I had visited about 10 communities by myself before working with Pauline and found some that seemed like they had some potential, but it wasn't until Pauline arrived in our lives that we found a TRULY ideal place for my mom to thrive. Here's what's different about working in- person with a skilled placement professional like Pauline: 1- They have looked into your loved ones eyes and created a personal and compassionate connection that is literally impossible to cultivate if you're only ever speaking with someone over the phone to find places to tour. 2- Pauline just KNOWS ... she is actually from Southern California so she knows the area VERY well and her wealth of personal relationships with the communities that she recommends based on your loved one's care and social needs is invaluable. 3- Superhero Assist, Part 1 ... my mother had planned to move to one community, deposit submitted and everything, but at the very last minute they denied her residence there bc suddenly they decided she could only live in the Memory Care wing and not in the Assisted Living wing, which did not seem at all appropriate based on my mother's expression of her condition.  Needless to say I became intensely disappointed and "rather" upset but Pauline made herself available to listen to the situation and by the end of the day she had not one but TWO tours scheduled for the very next day - and the 2nd of those communities is the one my mother fell in love with and moved to a couple of weeks later. To sum up my mother's experience of that 2nd tour - not even 10 ft past the door after touring she began crying tears of joy and relief bc she felt so welcomed and at home there... talk about a home run experience! 4- Superhero Assist, Part 2 ... on moving day, my mother (despite packing her stuff for two weeks) became confused about the move, became upset with me and refused to leave the house when the movers left with her things (welcome to the adventure of dementia!).  Speechless and confused, I rang Pauline to see what I could do ... she told me not to worry , just to follow the movers over to the community to get the room set up and she would come over to the house and comfort my mom and find a way to get her over to the community.  By the way - this was on a Saturday ... again, this level of warm, considerate, caring service is absolutely not something you can get from a person that you've only ever spoken with on the phone. They made sure she looked beautiful and felt special for such an important family moment, something we will never forget. The nursing staff under Neha are incredibly caring as well, always checking in on residents and helping those who aren't feeling their best get back out to participate in community activities and events. Their kindness and attentiveness make such a difference. Dan and Mark never hesitate to help, whether it's hanging a new photo or fixing my mom's bed whenever needed. Everyone knows the residents by name and treats them with kindness, patience, and genuine affection. On top of everything else, Bradford is extremely well maintained. It's been almost 13 months since my parents moved into their 2 bed/2 bath apartment in the Mountain…read morebuilding at Morningside. Much to my huge relief, my parents are genuinely happy and thriving in their new community. They even participate in two standing dinners each week with their new friends! It's no exaggeration that there is truly something for everyone with lots of fun activities, special events, excursions, and many opportunities for residents to interact. There is never a dull moment, and every holiday is celebrated with much fanfare. My quiet, introverted mother has blossomed into a quasi-social butterfly. She can't stop talking about the friendly new people she's met. As a nature lover, she loves her evening walks in the beautifully landscaped grounds. My father enjoys his daily visit to the mailroom and loves chatting with Olga at the front desk who never seems to have a bad day. He's a regular at the gym. He enjoys reading each page of the Weekly Happenings and Monthly Monitor. Both parents love using Morningside's app to review the daily menu before heading down to the restaurant for their meals. The wine offerings are impressive and prices very reasonable! They did notice a slight decline in the food quality/menu options throughout the year, but they said things are starting to improve with the new chef and the switch to a new seafood supplier. The app is easy to navigate and makes entering maintenance/work orders/staff feedback a breeze. Whoever designed the app did a great job because the user-interface is smooth and very intuitive. This is a huge compliment since my parents aren't native English speakers! ;-) A friend from one of their standing dinners is transitioning from independent living to memory care later this month. The group plans to invite him to their weekly dinners as much as possible if/when their meal credits allow. I'm sure Morningside will handle the move with the utmost care and compassion. You can be sure I'll be watching to see how the transition goes and will report back next year. TLDR: If you can figure out a way to make it work, don't hesitate to make the move to Morningside. I'm so happy my parents picked Morningside and wish they hadn't waited so long to make the move!
