We initially contacted the company to fix a clogged kitchen sink. Before they arrived, we clearly explained that rodding had already been attempted and did not work, and that we needed someone equipped with a camera inspection to locate the clog. When they arrived, they insisted on trying rodding again, saying their machine was more powerful. After several hours, the clog remained. My stairs carpet was full of mud after they left.. They returned another day to troubleshoot, but the camera they had was too large to see inside the pipes which again we had requested a thinner one from the start. Tomas indicated that they needed to do one , two small openings max to locate the clogged pipe. However, this escalated to ten holes throughout the laundry room walls and ceiling, as well as the basement bathroom walls and ceiling. He changed a pipe in the bathroom for no reason. To justify that he opened holes on the bathroom tha had nothing to do with the kitchen sink? Eventually, they discovered that the pipe leading to the outside of the house was collapsed. The solution was to excavate under the house, outside concrete stairs, under deck to fix the pipe. My husband proposed the solution to reroute the kitchen drain through the laundry room floor to connect to the city pipe. They said they needed to come next day to hydrojet and find the city pipe, plus 3 days to do the work. The quoted $12,000 which we felt was a lot of money but we had no kitchen sink for over a week now, 10 holes on the house, and not thinking clearly at this point. We accepted given the stressful situation, we agreed and paid $6,000 upfront. The work was completed in less than eight hours (versus 3 days) far less time and effort than represented. He promised us before starting that he will send someone to cover all the holes. Well he never sent anyone. After a couple weeks we texted and he gave us some BS excuse that he wanted to make sure he sent someone good, didn't mater the cost. A month later, same story, that the job is to small foe him to find someone (10 hold is small? I cannot imagine how much wrost could have been if we let him excavate towards the outside of the house. In summary he can't be trusted, his words means nothing. Do not pay him until you are satisfied. I File a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), and he didn't even answered, that is how much he cares. So i am going to leave this review in every place they are advertised and every moms, community facebook pages from north riverside to 10 miles around.

He was frankly hustling me for the listing of my home. I was shocked. I had only mentioned to the plumber who came to my home that I was considering putting my property up for sale in the context of only repairing what was absolutely needed. But, Roc disclosed my personal information to his son-in-law to he could make money off me with a real estate listing. I told Roc's family member that I provided my contact information for the purposes of the work and gave no permission to release it to anyone: I told him to delete all information of mine that he had. I am wondering how much information about my property was disclosed to the son-in-law by Roc. I told him what Roc did was completely unethical. I would never recommend this business for this reason.

I messaged over the weekend and got a response promptly. The plumber called me first thing Monday…read moremorning and came later in the afternoon. Two guys showed up and first power rodded the drain about 15 feet but couldn't go further because was worried it would scratch our thin PVC pipes. Then he camera scoped about 8 feet but then still worried it would damage the PVC pipes. I was disappointed we couldn't go further but I suppose it is what it is. He did clean out a good amount of tree roots and said that was probably the biggest blockage and though we couldn't see the rest, it will probably be OK. He said our pipes looked in OK condition, no holes as far as he could see. He was very nice and answered all of our questions. They did wear booties into the house but like every other contractor, they also wear the booties outside and then back inside everytime they go inside and outside. It was wet outside so some mud was tracked in all the way by the two people. Like I said, this seems to happen with all contractors, just a little nuisance to clean up afterwards. But overall, pleased with the service. They had competitive rates, $485 for the power rod and $200 for the camera. Will call them next time (maybe in 5 years?) when we need another cleaning. Thanks!

He looked at the leak and went to Association office of my condo building to request a water shut off to change a cartridge. He was told the shut off would have to be scheduled. He came back to remove cover to see if I had a shut off by the cartridge. I did not. Even though I did not have a shut off he decided to remove the cartridge anyway, but was unable to turn it. Then he said if he was able to remove the cartridge everything would get quite wet because the water wasn't able to be shut off. Then he said he didn't want to get wet and would not try to remove the cartridge. He told me that he would have to return in 3-5 days when the water shut off to my tier could be scheduled. Since he could not remove the cartridge he decided that it was on too tight. He told me I would have to soak rags in vinegar and wrap them around the cartridge and keep rags wet until he returned. He told me if I didn't do this that he might have to go into the wall in the hallway to get to the cartridge. I told them that he would have to get permission from the Association to do something so drastic. The Association told him no. Then before he left he told me to keep the bathroom door closed and leave the ceiling fan on until he returned in 3-5 days. He closed the door. I told him that I had the fan on but wasn't sure it was even working. He did not check the fan and closed the door. When he left, he left muddy boot prints from my bathroom all the way to my front door. When I responded to the ad on Yelp the price to come out was quoted as $69.99 to come out. When he replied to my email he changed the price and said it would be $39.99, but before he left he changed the price again to $69.99. I am a disabled senior citizen dealing with a stranger in my unit and was afraid to question him. I notified his company about the mess he made and they said they had no one to clean it up except him. I told them I did not want him coming back at all because I didn't trust him. I also talked to Association office and we decided he was not competent and that he should not return. I hired a different plumber to come and look at the faucet. They came and found the bathroom door closed and asked me why it was closed. I told them that Preferred Plumbing closed the door. When the door was opened my entire bathroom was dripping water - from the ceiling, down the walls, dripping from the light fixtures and my medicine cabinet. All of the knobs on both my medicine cabinet and my vanity were corroded from the dripping water. The paint was pealing off some of the walls and bubbling up on others. The stain on my medicine cabinet was also peeling off. The floor was so wet I had to put towels down so this plumber could have access to the leaky faucet. Even though I had told Grant that I didn't believe the fan was working, he never checked it before he closed the door. The light fixture was blinking off and on. The new plumber told me that the water probably got into the walls and may have shorted out the wires. Even the floor tiles were coming up. The bathroom door was so distorted from the excessive water it had absorbed it had to be forced to open it all the way. I have been back and forth with Preferred Plumbing explaining the discrepancy in the pricing and the amount of damages Grant caused by closing the door, but they decided that Grant was not at fault. They also refused to adjust the pricing even though I sent them a copy of the email that Grant sent to me quoting the price as $39.99. When the new plumber came he had no problems removing the cartridge even though I had been unable to apply the vinegar soaked rags that Grant insisted were necessary. I would not recomend Grant or Preferred Plumbing to anyone. They changed the pricing and caused a lot of damage to my bathroom. They accepted no responsibility for the price changes Grant made and refused to take responsibility for any of the damages that Grant caused by closing the bathroom door without checking to see if the fan was working even though I told Grant that I did not believe it was working.

Their estimate wa comfortably within my budget. NOTHING WAS LEAKING AT THAT TIME so I planned to schedule work early January. Then I came home to leaking ceiling. Since they're available 24/7, i called their office. Maria was able to schedule Jimmy to come out within a couple hours. He made sure the pipes were OK, then found the bad seal on my tub. Four hours after coming home my ceiling was no longer leaking, my tub was sealed, and we had plans to fix the rest before the end of the week. Finally, the day of the planned project arrived. Jimmy came out early because I had an afternoon commitment. Everything went exactly as he said it would. Time and cost matched my estimate/ consultation EXACTLY.
