I'm giving a 4 star because my first experience wasn't that great, due to my gel x falling off within days after my service. One of the main reasons I loved this shop, was the fact that their staff is so diverse, which you don't see often. It's the reason that helped me decide to give them another chance. The next time I came in, I was told the person that did my nails, no longer worked there. I had planned on getting acrylics but I was reassured that my gel x would be done correctly this time. Gave me a little bit more confidence with getting them again. I waited a few weeks after my service to review to truly give my honest opinion. I've been a loyal customer of this nail salon since November 2024 and have always gone to the same technician. Until recently, I had no complaints. However, my last visit about two weeks ago left me extremely disappointed. I received a fill and polish, and the results were not up to the usual standard. The polish was bubbling, and overall my nails looked rushed and sloppy--definitely not the quality I was used to from this technician. To make matters worse, the owner required me to pay for both my pedicure and fill before the services were completed, simply because she was leaving. This meant that once I saw the poor results, there was no opportunity to speak to a manager or request a refund. I messaged the salon via Yelp to express my concerns and asked if I could at least receive a discount on my next visit. The owner refused, offering only to fix the nails. I appreciated the offer, but I work three jobs and couldn't make time to return within that week. When I explained this, I was told that if I couldn't come back for a fix, there was nothing they could do. I found that very frustrating, especially as a regular client who always tips and has brought in multiple new customers--my sister, my sons, and my daughter-in-law have all gone there because of me. Today, I reached out again to book a new fill and asked for the same technician, explaining I would come earlier to avoid having to pay before the work was done. Instead of being welcomed back, I was questioned--"Why would you want the same girl if you weren't happy before?" I clarified that my issue was with the polish quality, not the technician's usual work. But the owner responded by accusing me of trying to "set them up" and stated that if I chose the same technician and wasn't satisfied again, they would not fix my nails. That kind of attitude is completely unacceptable. I've always been a respectful, paying, and loyal customer--and yet I was treated as though I was trying to scam them. This experience has made it clear that my business is not appreciated. I will not be returning, and I do not recommend this salon to anyone. Right place, right time, right techs, and RIGHT salon! I originally found this salon through yelp and was glad I did. I first reached out through yelp and received a response right away advising to call in to schedule my desired appointment. That is exactly what I got. I scheduled for a Sunday at noon and the shop was not busy and I was greeted by name as soon as I walked in. That was nice. After waiting just a few minutes for my pedicure bowl to be prepared by Jeanette, Hannah came to get me and got me set up for my pedicure and fill to be done at the same time. Loved that! Now I have to mention, the little table that was set up so that my nails could get done was perfect! Way Better than that unstable gross pillow most nail shops give you. It provided stability for me and Hannah and still allowed me to be comfortable while being serviced. Now, time to shout out the ladies! Both Hannah and Jeanette did their "big one"! Both ladies were very gentle, very patient, professional yet personable and very detail oriented. Both women took their time to address my every need and were mindful of the foundation and clean up to ensure a smooth and clean application. I came in with semi-decent work done by a different shop and both ladies were able to get that broken down and cleaned up to perfection! Hannah even shaped my nails so good, you really can't see that a couple of nails that were originally applied at the other shop, were applied crooked. Jeanette had me hooked the moment I put my foot in the water and the temp was literally perfect. Not many techs have mastered that art, but that's when I knew I was in good hands. I had plenty of little crusties and product build up to take down and the ladies tagged team me and polished me right up! Thank you both! My mom, brother and I were going to get pedicures together, but we didn't know where or when. I suggested Wednesday and everyone agreed. I asked if three people could get in for pedicures without an appointment today? She said they could do those pedis and when did we want to come in. Looking at the time I figured 3:00 pm would work, after all I already had my mom at my house just needed to let my brother in on our plans. I called and texted my brother as did my mom about our appointments. We were unable to get in touch with him. It was quickly approaching 3:00 pm so I drove my mom and myself to the nail shop, it was basically right down the street from my house. What a pleasant experience we had! Everyone was very nice and professional. I had Lena who was very pleasant and engaged in conversation with me. She also did a fantastic job on my pedicure, My mom's toes look great too, I just wasn't sure of the name of the girl my mom had. My brother ended up missing the appointment (as he didn't see our messages). My mom and I were very happy with our toes and told them we would be back and I mean that! The only downfall for me is - since I googled nail shops instead of using my YELP account to look we both missed their 25% off coupon for first time customers!!! In response to the owner, I had no idea you were calling the literal police on me. To be clear Jeanette did nothing but my massage Athena did everything else. I left without even receiving top coat or anything of the sort. Who calls the police on a customer? You asked me to wait for an extra 20 minutes To still never receive my service. You're saying I was being unreasonable when all I literally asked for was my service that I fulled paid and tipped each technician $17 for to be completed. If that was "police worthy" to you then that unacceptable. I'm going out of town and couldn't come back for my paint to be completed which would've taken only a few more minutes. She literally never even put top coat. I wanted Athena to be tipped for both services and I just wanted YOU as the owner to make it right. Do you know how scary that is leaving a beauty service and to be threatened with the literal cops? I know exactly what I did but I literally don't even have on top coat because your employee said her boyfriend was outside and when you asked me to wait for Athena I politely did and she asked me to come back tomorrow as well to which I stated I could not do. As a manager you never apologized or offered a reasonable solution other than coming to a different location the next day, I do not drive which is why I chose the Sahara location and in addition to that I'm now out of town so I couldn't come back the next day. Your response was calling the police & to be VERY CLEAR the owner was not even in the building at the time of this so my interaction was face to face without you even being there. You still have yet to provide a solution. I hope anyone else reading this no matter what your race is takes caution. Decent service, horrible owner and again id only recommend Athena. read more
