During the height of the pandemic with no guests, parties or gatherings, we thought it was the perfect time to reupholster all 8 of our dining room chairs. They allowed us to do the beginning phase of our project via pics, which was most helpful. Jake patiently outlined our options and costs once we had chosen a fabric to reupholster our 20 year old sofas. I received a reply within an hour from Jake who said they were closed for the holidays, but that he'd contact me when they reopened. In the morning of the first day after the holidays, Jake called and we set up an appointment that week for him to come out and scope out the job. Jake arrived on time and made some helpful suggestions about the work (a custom window seat cushion) that will prevent us from having issues in the future. The job itself was reasonably priced and was completed within two weeks, which was surprisingly fast. Jake called to schedule a time to install and arrived at the exact time mentioned. The cushion itself was a perfect fit, very well made, and looks great, but Trust Upholstery's superb customer service is the reason why I'm writing this review, my first on Yelp. We've gotten work done there countless times, and each time, the artistry was impeccable. Their craftsmanship is unparalleled. I've been to several other upholstery shops in the area in the past, but none got the work down like Trust. Service is prompt and very polite, with professionalism. We had several antiques go in, dubious of whether they could be restored. Boy, were we wrong!! Not only were the pieces polished and restored, they came out more beautiful than ever. You can really tell that craftsmanship is the most important part of this business. Each piece is handled and upholstered meticulously. Trust did such a beautiful and thoughtful job reupholstering my grandmother's couch! This couch is over 60 years old (antique yet?) and was worn out to the point that the foam cushions were crumbling and the fabric was torn in several places. I went to G Street Fabrics and ordered the job and fabric through them. They were running a great sale and had a straightforward pricing system that made it easy to accurately predict the cost of the job based on a photo and the measurements of my sofa. I was initially a little nervous about not speaking directly with the upholsterers about the fabric I'd chosen and how the pattern might look across the channels on the back of the couch. When I got the couch back this morning, I realized how misplaced that fear was. Trust Interiors had not only done a perfect job of alternating the medallions in the tone-on-tone fabric on the back of the couch, but had matched up the medallions on the edges of the seats with the covering below them AND with the dust flaps. There's even one that crosses the corners of the two seats where they meet in the middle. I may be using incorrect references to different parts of this couch, but the important point is that they did a gorgeous job and added extra touches of craftsmanship that I never would have expected or considered. They retied the springs and tightened up the frame as well - everything feels great! I can't wait to show my grandmother a photo! My mother, who grew up with this couch, has already had a preview over Skype and thinks it looks fantastic. Their rebuilding of a sofa and some chairs so broken down to be of questionable value was excellent. Trust does examine pieces carefully to judge whether broken down pieces can be saved. Recently, I decided I needed new drapes which necessitated visiting a number of retail shops & interiors' workrooms in the Rockville, MD to select fabric & obtain pricing. Because Trust Interiors had good reviews on Yelp, I decided to contact them. I spoke w/the firm's principal, Jake Kim. Although the quote provided was reasonable, the yardage amount did not match any of the other quotes I had received so I asked Mr. Kim to confirm the dimensions as well as the fullness ratio he had used & then requested that he double-check the yardage as I didn't want to pay for extra yardage I didn't need or end up w/improperly made draperies. And because I had never worked w/this shop & in order to accurately compare this quote w/the others, I requested a written quote. I also asked if he could provide the recalculated quote that day. Not only did I not receive it that day, I never received it. When a shop comes in w/a quote that is lower than those provided by everyone else & cites their turnaround time as half of what every other retail shop or interiors' workroom quotes & then doesn't come through w/a written quote, it definitely raises a red flag for me. Needless-to-say, I was glad to find this out before money changed hands & have since placed my drapery order w/a company I know & have always found to be responsive & reliable & most importantly, one who meets my comfort level. read more

Trust Upholstery has upholstered a sofa, loveseat, wing chair and ottoman, another chair and ottoman, and some small chairs for me, over the last year and a half. Except for the sofa and loveseat, I supplied the fabric. First of all, their work is just fabulous. Every piece has been done to perfection. The sofa and loveseat, which were quality pieces from the 80's but frumpy, now look both elegant and contemporary; they now look, in fact, like expensive pieces one might see in a magazine ad. I then realized I was dealing with artists and have been telling them to do what they think is right when making decisions about the upholstery. The most recent chair and ottoman (also from the 80's) were upholstered with a large scale pattern involving birds and branches and the matching up of the pattern on the base and cushions is just breathtaking. Further, to make the most of the pattern, they told me they needed to place a seam in a place where one would not normally find it. Well, that seam is invisible, it is so perfectly done. All this quality is available at a very reasonable price, and as another reviewer mentioned, they show up when they say they will, and they are very welcome in my home.
