We hired CHC to turn a closet into a full bathroom and had very specific ideas about what we wanted. Other contractors either told us it wasn't possible or left us feeling unsure they could deliver. Before we paid anything toward the project, CHC brought in architects, and the owner personally visited our home to discuss multiple design options and explain what was realistic. That level of attention gave us confidence from the beginning. Once construction started, the same crew was at our home every weekday, working full days and consistently moving the project forward. With other companies we've used, work often stopped while materials were ordered or crews moved between jobs or would take breaks when they were waiting for materials, always pushing the timeline back. With CHC, there was always progress. Our project manager, Michael and the foreman Jay, stayed on top of ordering supplies, and when plans changed or additional materials were needed, they often arrived the next day. When materials weren't available, the crew was still here every day either cleaning the site or progressing in another way. The workmanship was absolutely exceptional. The crew was skilled, efficient, and attentive to every detail. It was clear that taking pride in their work and doing things properly came naturally to them whether I was looking over their shoulder or not. We continued living in our home throughout the project, and they took care they took to keep us comfortable which made an enormous difference. They isolated the construction area, cleaned up at the end of each day, and kept disruption to our daily lives minimal. Even small details stood out. They installed zippered openings in the plastic dust barriers so we could move between rooms without disturbing the dividers or spreading dust throughout our house. Those thoughtful touches showed how much they cared about our experience. With anyone construction project, there will be changes or unexpected issues. Their responsiveness was so impressive. When we experienced a gas leak over a weekend, CHC had someone at our house within an hour, and the issue was fixed that same day. Even with minor concerns we discovered on a weekend (hot water issue) that we told Michael could wait until Monday, someone would arrive within the hour to take care of them. We felt supported throughout the entire process. When some plumbing work fell behind ahead of inspections, the crew worked through the weekend to get everything ready and keep the promised schedule. Other companies we have used will push the inspections or timelines back but CHC worked extremely hard to keep the timeline they gave us and even finished a week earlier than expected. What sets California Home Center apart is the combination of excellent craftsmanship, consistent communication, reliability, and genuine care for the people living through the renovation. We would absolutely hire them again and highly recommend them.
