I don't feel very comfortable with DIYing. I noticed a lot of scrap materials for building. I was curious about the cabinetry because I've been wanting some for a useless nook area in my house. Individual cabinets there run about $1500. Though the sticker shock really got us, I still wonder if that was the right price at all. I think new items at Home Depot cost less than that. If I had a rental home maybe some of the materials might be worth it. They have some very decent looking countertop materials. We decided there wasn't anything we could use here at the time.

Called Alliance lumber yesterday 4/29/26 and to get quoted on 17- 2x6x20' boards as well as 2x8x20'…read moreboards. Both Doug fir. The guy quoted me $284.92 for the 17 2x6's and $247.17 for the 13 2x8's. Sent my brother down there to grab the 2x8's and the guys charges him $307 and some change for the 13 2x8's. He told the guy at the front counter what we were quoted while I was on the phone and with attitude he says. " I highly Doubt that". I have no reason to lie about a $60 price difference frankly I don't care. But as my brother is loading lumber he called me and stated that the gentleman working the will call desk came out and told him he cannot continue to sift through the bundle of boards looking for decently straight ones and that he needs to leave. He stated that all the material is going to be bent and split. Mind you he already paid for the material. He then states that he's willing to refund him for the material he did not load yet and turned around and walked off. Point being is that I'm not paying for broken and damaged boards and it was wrong of them to treat him that way. We're a smaller outfit but after being treated that way this will be our first and last time using alliance lumber if this is how they treat their smaller customers. I guess if you do not have a large order and aren't well known they will hike up their prices and treat you like dirt. 10/10 do not recommend.

When asked about discrepancy they say…read morethat's how they come ( but one may wonder if they, in purpose, mix it with smaller rocks to beef up profits)...they prefer you to go to another competitor when you point out the scam.When asked about labeling the product 1/2 size when a significant portion is less than that, they say that it is not "1/2 size , is UP to 1/2" ( and that's where the scam lies). On a random test, about 40% of their 1/2 size is actually significantly smaller than posted size. Look for an honest company.

I do not recommend this place at all.

The driver tells his boss that he called me multiple times and I never answered, so he just dumped the load in the street. Over a four-minute window, the driver did call five times, and the fifth time left a message, and then dumped the load. Note that I'm in the house on a phone call, and all of this happened in a matter of five minutes. I return the call to the driver within 12 minutes of his voicemail only to find out that he dumped the load in the street and nowhere near the spot it was to be dumped. It will now cost me another $400 to move the $500 worth of gravel that this idiot driver did not follow protocol. Pictures attached of the four calls, and the voicemail from the driver. My return call was at 12:05 pm which the driver didn't answer, and I called again a minute later only to find out he had already dumped and was on the freeway home. ALL IN TWELVE MINUTES START TO FINISH. NO THIRTY-MINUTE ADVANCE CALL OR CALL WHEN LEAVING THE YARD.

Whether I needed 5/8" grade 8 bolts to mount a monster vise to my work bench or 8/32" filister head machine screws for a 1948 bench grinder, these guys pretty much have it all. The owners are super helpful, friendly and just all around great people. I'm looking forward to giving them more business, and highly recommend them to anyone looking for fasteners, especially over the big box and hardware chain stores.

Everything was great until our salesman decided to move on and no longer work with the Company. Then we were introduced to his replacement Zach. Some of the interior doors, either mechanical or fire doors either came damaged several times or were installed improperly. And of course, I mentioned the salesman Zach because ever since our original sales rep quit, I have not received one call from Zach, but he will respond in email. I've had them out to fix the doors about 5 to 6 times. The doors that were delivered damaged, instead of getting a new door, the installers decided to use putty to fix the chunks taken out of the door. Whenever they needed to fix or deliver a new item, they would usually show up without notifying us and takeoff without even testing their products. If we did not go over there, they would never let us know about any thing that was wrong after their installations. So as we're dealing with these guys, we end up getting doors from an affiliate of theirs, Milgard. Now Milgard is even worse!! We started our project in September and we still have two patio doors that will not close. When you call them to schedule service it's usually two months out. As I mentioned, we started our project in September and we still have doors that are not fixed from Milgard and it's is now March 2026. I can say a lot more, but I just don't have the time to keep writing. All I could say is, DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE GUYS!!
