Bad business practice. I previously used this company when they were called Elite Comfort and gave…read morethem a great review. However, that's not the case with this new company, Air Tech. While the technician was professional, the estimate they gave was outrageous. The technician said I needed a new evaporator coil. If you look online, you'd be hard-pressed to find one for more than $1,000. He mentioned it would take two technicians and six hours to complete the job. Even if we assume the technicians charge $100 per hour (which is a stretch), that brings the labor cost to $1,200, and the total so far to $2,200. Let's add a 50% markup for the company, which brings the total to $3,300. That's still high, but they quoted me $4,980! Obviously, I shopped around and found a much more reasonable estimate--nearly 50% less from a reputable company. The bad business practice here is charging nearly $100 for the diagnostic, knowing the estimate was outrageous. You could literally build a business around giving inflated estimates with the sole intention of collecting diagnostic fees.

EZ Comfort rescued me from Home Warranty shenanigans, after I hadn't had AC for 10 days while in…read morethe middle of a heat wave in Humble that included daily heat advisories and resulted in a house whose ambient temperature was 90F from June 14th - June 24th 2023. Their staff were able to get me on their schedule with minimal delays (when other companies were quoting 2-3 weeks into the future), with one phone call to the stellar office team. The Business Owner & HVAC technician, Juan Carlos, quickly diagnosed the issue and explained what options I had. His professional, polite, technical demeanor & explanation resulted in my family replacing the furnace, drip pan (which was inappropriately plumbed causing rusty water to constantly drip from our backup line rather than divert to the primary drain line) and installed a whole home surge protector. These updates should mitigate/eliminate future issues. It is likely that local power surges placed strain on my capacitor (which had a burnt out terminal & char marks on the mounting frame), resolved a Gerry-rigged control board, and replaced the non- functioning blower. All these observations where ignored by my home warranty inspector who instead quickly insisted that I had a leak in my system that the HW wouldn't cover & tried to sale me a "temporary fix" via cash that wouldn't have addressed any of the true issues. Thank goodness I was smart enough to reach out to EZ Comfort who did a thorough system inspection to provide a technical disposition with appropriate records of their finding's & recommendations for correction. The EZ Comfort staff who came out to help (installation & removal of non-operating equipment) were professional and friendly, with much appreciation, thanks, and popsicles given to Juan Carlos & his team (Yoni, Jose, & the electrician). The front of the office staff were equally as professional effective and just pleasurable to talk and work with to restore services. I am looking forward to using EZ Comfort for all my future HVAC & home services needs in the future as together we maintain & service my property through their helpful & reasonably priced maintenance plan & dedicated team of technicians & installers. My experiance dealing with Jose and his team during the installation was just as great. My condenser unit was on a small balcony on my 4th floor and the evaporator coil/air blower unit, Furnice were in the attic above the 4th floor. Jose was able to line up a crane and replace the old unit and install a new unit the same day as the qoute. The entire team was very professional and completed the work on time. My install was a week ago and everything has been working perfectly. My new unit is so quiet and I am noticing less humidity in the house as well. John came out to give a diagnosis, and he was extremely knowledgeable about my Daikin mini split four-port ductless hvac system. The tech from another company who installed it, should have brazed all 4 refrigerant lines to ensure that there wouldn't be any leaks or suggested I do so. The other company had a one month work warranty which I was informed is a red flag but honestly didn't want to get anymore work done by them after this tedious job and getting U0 error code after exactly 1 month. He showed me which units were leaking, but I decided to get all four units done to avoid issues in the future with the others. The diagnosis fee was waived due to getting the work done by the company. The price was affordable and on point. I can't say how grateful I am to them, because all of my saved up funds going towards the initial install with the other company. The pic shows minimal repair needing to be done after they meticulously worked on each unit which I will get patched up and painted. Vibrant made it right, and I can't sing enough of John's praises!
