My review is based not on the store itself, full of nice employees and stocked with interesting prepper products, but rather on their gunsmith. What a bad experience with this guy. Judging from some of the others reviews, I'm not the only one who's had the pleasure ... ahem ... of dealing with this guy. I have an Sig P365 xMacro. Nice EDC pistol except for the trigger. Bought an MCarbo trigger on-line but I no longer have the manual dexterity to do detailed gun work so I took it to Tru Prep. The gunsmith says, I hate working on those and don't want to do it. Fine, I thought, I'll just go somewhere else. But then he follows that with, I'd have to charge you an arm and a leg to do it. I asked how much is an arm and a leg in dollars. Hundred bucks. Sheesh. But I need it done so I said, proceed. How long will it take? A week, he says. Two weeks go by and I haven't heard from him. I call the store. He's not there but Amy, he's be of their awesome employees, offers to email the gunsmith right away. I simply want to know when my pistol will be ready. No response from the gunsmith. I call the shop last week and manage to get him on the phone. When will my pistol be ready? This week, he says. I wait until today, Sunday. I go in and he's got an attitude (how DARE I expect him to meet his commitment, right?). I merely said, I'm here to pick up my pistol. No apology whatsoever, the guy just hands it back. Three weeks and I still don't have my trigger installed. Would I recommend this place for gunsmithing work? Am I allowed to say HELL NO! on Yelp? Again, the store itself is staffed by nice people. My problem is with the arrogant, undependable gunsmith. Unfortunately there's not a way to post a review about him without dinging the store as well. However, perhaps the owner will see this negative review and realize he's got a problem employee who's reflecting poorly on the place as a whole. read more

Use them as my FFL. Once went in looking for obscure ammo from my dads inherited gun and while not in stock one of the guys brought in some from his personal stock for me. I'll always go here for this reason. Not to mention always greeted warm and helped with questions from the workers. read more

Great shop. Nice people. This is my "go to" spot for AR parts. They stock most parts. In many cases you can get a parts kit or buy them separately. They also sell uppers, lowers & complete rifles. They have good prices on magazines. They buy & sell guns. I see interesting firearms come and go here. This place has a little bit of something for everyone. Camping basics? Cool. Freeze dried food? Fabulous. Solar goods? Sure thing. Water filtration? Wowzers. Seriously, all alliterations aside, if you're into prep, hurricane preparedness, end of the world what have yous or whatevers, this is the place to check out. They have books, supplies, and so much collective knowledge that you can't help but walk out of there better off than you were before. Even if you just want to plant seeds and learn more about canning your produce, they're the place to be. They have classes every weekend to help teach you the basics, things like first aid or packing a survival bag, or even more elaborate topics -- all of which you can check out on their website. The staff never speaks down to you or belittles you if you don't know about a topic. They have pretty solid monthly sales that help you stock up on certain items, and they rotate what each month's theme is so that it's not the same old freeze-dried ice cream that's for sale. I love coming into this store and am glad it's so great. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area and looking for basics, or even if you're just curious. Go check them out! read more

TruPrep is my new go-to for firearm parts, accessories, and gear. They have a great stock for AR parts. Mags are priced competitively. Staff was friendly and happy to help me find what I was looking. I wish I had stopped in before going online to order parts. It's a little bit of a drive for me, but well worth it! read more

Great people work here:) When I arrived I was greeted with a smile and if I even looked a little confused about a product there was staff right there to help me with any questions or to make suggestions. I ended up purchasing a few cool items that I will use to protect myself, mace and a pink doggie dagger thingy, both are sure to be painful if I have to use them. I feel equipped and ready to protect myself now. I also got ideas on how to prepare myself for nearly anything including a zombie apocalypse. Seriously, this place was one of the most fascinating places I've ever been to. I walked the aisles at least twice and each time I saw something I hadn't noticed before. The prices were great as well. I definitely plan to purchase my wilderness supplies and packs from here on out for my hikes and camping trips. Really, this is a cool place to visit. Great establishment, the shop is clean, well organized and plenty of inventory (especially AR parts), and more importantly I have been looking for a hard to find/heavy tool (that I didn't want to pay for shipping) was in stock! I went inside and immediately spotted my tool and picked it up. The team members even showed me cool features of my new tool, that I didn't even know about. I proceeded to look at the plethora of hand guards and barrels. I asked to see a precision rifle, not only did they let me hold the rifle, but they also provided me with their personal experiences with the rifle! That is a type of knowledge that you will not get at other large stores that I will not name! Also, I didn't feel like I was searching endlessly, the placement and organization of everything just makes sense...bags are with bags, range bags are next to that and rifle bags are next to that AND holsters are near by too! It is crazy how much much nicer the experience is if everything is organized using common sense! The staff is INCREDIBLY friendly, and will ask you if you need help, but not an obnoxious number of times. The team at the gun counter are super friendly and will talk to you about anything or any questions you have about a gun or anything in general. I will definitely be coming back here for all my building needs. LITERALLY, the only negative thing I have to say, which isn't negative is, I wish they carried more JP Rifles/JP Enterprises, Geissele and Battle Armament parts, but at the same time, I do realize that those parts sell out FAST and are sold out EVERYWHERE. I've done FFL transfers and bought a few smaller items through them, and everything has always been smooth. Would recommend if you want to find firearm parts or stuff like magazines or cases as well. One of two guys working behind the counter says hello, and then they continue talking to each other, neither asks me if I want to purchase a pistol or if I needed help with anything. I walked out. I probably wont go back. Fist off, It's a neat store with a pretty good selection of prepper goods and firearm parts. Upon walking in I spoke with the front of the store employees who seemed friendly enough at first. I let them know that it was my first time stopping in, and that I've heard very good things. After about 5 minutes of just leisurely walking around and checking things out one of the employees started to follow my friend an I around. They were trying to be discrete, but anyone who has worked retail knows exactly what was going on. They were always 10 steps behind us. It was really freaking weird. With that said, we were dressed in business casual cloths with our company logo on them and in a giant limited Edition F-150 with our company logo all over it. If we were thieves, we'd been terrible at it. Had they just offered to help while we were looking around, or given a friendly "hey can I help you find something" it wouldn't have been so bad. But, they made it really freaking awkward which was disappointing. I'd rather overpay at Governor's Gun Club in Kennesaw, or Cabela's in Acworth-- or just shop at Primary Arms online which is what I'll likely keep doing. Fantastic store for AR parts! Prices are competitive and the staff is both knowledgeable and friendly. Plenty of general survival goods as well. I will drive out of my way to check for parts here before stopping at local shops because they have some of the best stock in the entire state of GA (especially around ATL). I've gone to TruPrep for quite a while doing FFL transfers and I'm generally always had good interactions. Today I picked up a rifle and there was an Asian representative who is very passive aggressive even though he wasn't my representative he interjected and was very rude. They have a fair price and I've never had a prior bad experience but if you go avoid this clerk. It's not a good environment to have passive aggressive behavior and all parties involved are armed. This can go dangerously South ...hopefully they re-train this guy at some point read more

The staff is polite and friendly and is patient with customers asking questions. They are knowledgeable but not "know it alls" like you find in some gun stores (a bad thing). I love that they have 87 different colors of paracord.... lots of great camping equipment, too. I now have a "tactical diaper bag" that I keep in my trunk without worry of not having medical supplies or basic tools if needed. These guys just got their Federal Firearms License and I am looking forward to seeing what they keep in stock. This is an excellent shop with amazing service! Great selection of merchandise, the right parts that are harder to find elsewhere, and awesome customer service. I had been recommended by many other colleagues and even a few other shops to stop and check out TruPrep. One visit was for some gas rings and I stocked up on a bunch. Another time I stopped by and was able to compare some red dots to find the best one for what I was looking for. Wesley is the man!! Overhearing a conversation about what some would call a difficult customer service interaction and how Wesley dealt with the situation, is what ultimately made this one of my new favorite shops. Knowing that you are dealing with people that care about you being happy with a purchase and getting the right product for your needs is what makes this shop special.
