Truegreen started off well enough. Reliable and the price was ok. However, over the last year they've been insufferable! Customer service is actually pretty ok and my lawns weeds have been under control. However the prices have gone too far and the techs are horrible. They come out and dont get out of the van but claim they completed the service despite me being home or having the ring confirm that they didnt donanything. If I could give zero stars I would. This company sprayed my lawn with God knows what without my permission. They did my lawn instead of my neighbors. I am not a customer of theirs and never will be. I called them several times to notify them of the situation and later to notify them that my grass was dying from whatever they put on it. After several calls and emails they never rectified the situation. I highly recommend you DO NOT hire this company for your lawn. They are unprofessional and unresponsive. They never even came back out to service my neighbor after the mistake they made. Stay far away from this company! read more

Service for almost 2 years. Lush in the Spring with very reliable service. Administration coordinator Marianne was the absolute best. Unfortunately her crew just dropped the ball too many times. The problem is they could never repair the problem issues. Tons of Grab grass, fertilizer burn and numerous large bare dirt spots. Pretty disappointing and have canceled the service. read more

I said I am standing on my lawn and can assure you, Michael is not here. I asked all month to have a manager call me. No one ever calls. I finally was fed up and called to cancel. Company supposedly aerated and overseeded lawn on August 15. The technician left the broken chain from the aerator in the middle of sidewalk as well as a pile of grass seed. Since the chain broke, I highly doubt they completed the job. I inspected my yard and there were minimal holes in just one small area to indicate the job was done. My entire yard definitely was not done. I am disputing the charge and have provided my credit card with photos of Tru Green's sub-par work and lack of respect for my property. Do not understand what is Safari 20 sc, Floramite -sc, Merit 2f and Talstar -P all of this was mixed together to kill insects and to give the lawn a greener grass but instead I was hit in the head with this. How will this affect my health I do not know and no one will help My State fined them and they paid them here I sit still waiting for the knock on the door one thing I do not know about the weeds but it killed my hair #metoo. read more

We were getting prices from several lawn companies. They gave me an estimate and they were significantly higher than other companies so we opted for another company. And then the calls started, up to two a day from people from TruGreen wanting the business. The first three times, I politely told them they had already called and we were going with another company. They persisted and they were getting rude and abusive. They continued to call even though we told them not to call again. My husband finally yelled at them to never call again and hung up on them. Other than the first call with the estimate, these people were rude, and abusive when told we didn't want their business. read more

As along with my last review a year ago. Trugreen was scheduled to come and service my yard last week. They never showed up and never called to tell me they weren't coming. Then I get a call they are coming this week on the 29th of September. Well the tech calls and verifies with me over the phone my yard boundaries. Then I receive a message service complete and a bill for $200. Well the tech never actually came to my house. This is the second time in two weeks I hired someone to come cut my yard short to prepare and get best results from my aeration and overseed which never happened. They have no issue billing me though. This is the 2nd or 3rd time I have had this happen to me with trugreen. I called customer service to get them to come back and was told they will call me today and come back today. Well they did neither. They can't have a supervisor talk to you because everyone is working from home and a supervisor never called me as they told me one would. Your unable to reach local branch over phone as all calls go to trugreen national phone number. Beyond unhappy and hope they decide to finally make things right. read more

Do not use this company. The tech came to my house and no one was home. I keep both of my gates locked unless I know someone is coming. I did not know TruGreen was coming that date. He left a ticket that said he treated my lawn. There was no way he could have treated the back because both gates were locked. When I wrote to corporate about it and to also tell them to cancel my service, they just wrote back saying my service was cancelled. No apology, no offer to send them back to finish the job. Horrible customer service. I wouldn't recommended this company to my worse enemy. Also, my lawn looks horrible like they've never even treated it all season with weeds all over the place. Lastly, the tech left on the service invoice that my lawn is showing signs of heat stress and this was after the most rainfall in the history of Maryland and I have a sprinkler system. I have given Trugreen three chances to improve. They just can not seem to get the job done correctly as the service goes on. The first few times they actually show up and you do truly notice a difference in your lawn. But then you start to notice that they say they show up and bill you for it but they don't actually show up. I have ring cameras all over my house and on the days they say they showed up I checked all my cameras and not a soul and no flag or note on door saying they came to our house. They then continue to bill me and I tried to call in but lengthy hold times so I just stopped paying. They then send me to collections. Collections for services not rendered! Unbelievable. The window for arrival today was between 1 and 6 PM. As I'm out on a walk with the dog at 11, I get a notification that they would be arriving in 5 minutes. I called the service and said to get a message to them that I would head back. When I got back, I got another notice that they would be there between 1 and 6. They showed up at 1:20 and pulled beyond the gate. I had the front door open so that I could see they were there. I opened the gate and waited on the lawn for the tech to get out of the truck. He never did. He pulled off and then I instantly get a notice that the service was cancelled because the gate was locked! I had instantly come out of the house to greet them and the lazy bum just pulled off. Too lazy to come out from under the air conditioning. I called to complain and a supervisor was to have called back. Nothing. This was beyond any laziness I've ever witnessed. read more

If you are living around Baltimore area, STAY AWAY from Trugreen. They cheated. I started using Trugreen this year. After four treatments, my lawn still has lot of weeds. On the forth treatment, they charged double. According to Trugreen, they merged two treatments into one since the weather changed. On the receipt left by the service man, 0.4gal of weed control was sprayed by the sprayer on 400sf and 16.54lbs of fertilizer was applied on 4997sf by the spreader. Apparently, only 7% of the area was applied with weed control. This is why my lawn still has weeds. But that is not a whole story. Luckily, I have a video system around my house. The video shown clearly that the service man only applied the fertilizer with the spreader. No weed control or sprayer was shown in the video during his service. The receipt and the service was not matched. This is a very concrete evidence to prove that Trugreen cheated its customers. read more

Trugreen should be called Truly unacceptable. I scheduled there service for the mosquito treatment. The two women arrive. I look out the window I watch them make there mix of chemicals one did the front the other goes to the back no later than a minute I look out the back window she is closing the gate walking back around she did nothing out there. Still that evening mosquitoes still around. The person leaves a pamphlet in the door, and according to it they suppose to knock and try and speak to the customer which they did not do. I am disappointed in the service. They want to charge $79.00 a month for continued service. It's clear here I will not continue service Truly unacceptable Green. I recommend you to look else where if you are considering . Update service was scheduled again today 8/14/18 for after 12pm and they stated they arrived 8:39 am stated they knocked on the door. I was home no one knocked and I was not the only person home. I just seen the notice on the door. Not sure if work was completed or not. This treatment was schedule for early last week and they are just coming today. This is the worst service nothing but liars and frauds. This is the worst company. They have all the electronic bells and whistles to remind you of service. The actual service and customer service is a mess. Customer service reps are excellent at parroting company policy, yet lack the ability to respond to inquiries. We paid in full for both mosquito treatment and lawn service. My lawn died! And I still had mosquitos. The treatment used for mosquitos made my lips and throat burn even while in the house. Safe for pets? Not too sure. We finally got a partial refund! When asking for full refund, we were told they had to investigate. I sent before and after pics to prove the damage. I will.never use this company again. Now We have to figure out how to repair our damaged lawn without paying hundreds for a landscaper! Not a happy customer! read more

I had a very nice guy come service my yard but after talking to him. This company is modern day slavery, the guy was exhausted from being at work since 6am and all he wanted to do was to get off at 4pm so he can see his child. The manager was rude to the tech and threatened to fire the guy, I was standing right there by the tech. He cried because he was losing so much time and he was exhausted from working with no lunch break. I as a customer will never recommend a company who puts their employees mental health and family in the back burner. My lawn is okay if it's not serviced in that moment but to treat employees like slaves is where I draw the line. Y'all should be called TruSlaves not TruGreen, if you can't treat your employees with respect then how can you blame them for not being 100% to do the job. No person should be working more than 8 hours a day unless that person wants to, I hope that guy doesn't get fired for being a parent and if he does get fired for that then anyone who services the business doesn't care about children. read more

Last year Trugreen began treating my lawn, and I was initially ok with the service. They seeded in the fall, I watered and I could see the grass taking root. Spring comes and I have huge patches of something called Henbit, which I never saw before. According to the experts at Maryland University it is typically a result of improper fertilization or mowing too short. I didn't mow to short, so I'd suspect someone goofed. There was so much Henbit that I'd swear Trugreen planted the damn weed. Trugreen's management response: "I spoke to the service mgrs. and was advised that what we have here are winter annual weeds called Henbit, they will be controlled when we start our weed control I would say in about a week or so, I will put a note to myself to enter a service call to get them treated. have a great day". No concern whatsoever about all the money I spent on their services from last year. Just you got Henbit weeds all over your lawn and enjoy the big dead spots in your ugly lawn. If Trugreen comes back with a better response than merely telling me what the silly weed is and offering to fix things somehow I will update my review, but for the time being stay away from them. read more

Lawn full of weeds, and bad service. Have had regular service for years- this season has been awful. I called 3 times for additional service- after 1st call I met the first serviceman on the lawn- showed him all of the broad leaf- throughout my lawn and along my driveway, etc. 2 weeks later, problem is worse. I make my second call. Come home to a note saying "I see common weeds in your lawn. No treatment provided." So, my 3rd call for a supervisor to come out. I wait 4 hours, and on the phone with TruGreen and am told he just left my home. No doorbell rung. I don't get a call, because I am already on the phone with TruGreen. AND no service. Was not the supervisor who came, but the serviceman who left the note from last time. I have cancelled my service. read more

I asked for prices on the service, he gave them to me very quickly, I had to ask again to understand what he was saying. When I said I was just inquiring on the cost and thanked him he hung up in the middle of the conversation. I was not the customer of record, my neighbor was. However, allow me to express my aggravation regarding the call center before I center on the real issue - the driver. It is aggravating that every phone number I found and assigned to TruGreen rings into their central customer service call center in Gaithersburg - not an actual location, or office, not even an owner or manager's desk phone - the call center. In response to my initial call, a Bill Wagner called me at approximately 6:10 last night - although I told the CSR that we wouldn't be home and to call back after 4pm on the next day. On the voice mail, I was called by the wrong name. The return number which appeared on my caller ID routed me back to customer service. Again, I called customer service this morning thinking that I would get someone during business hours and the CSR refused to route my call to this gentleman or the office that handles my location. It is now after 6pm on Oct. 3, and still no call. Pathetic and unprofessional. Why would I care to do business with you? Now onto the real issue. Your driver, speeding through the cul-de-sac where I reside, looped around and before he even thought about hitting the brakes, hit my trash can. On top of that, this oblivious "genius", operating his equipment from the right side of his truck, totally blew off the fact that the can remained rested against his right front tire the entire time. He arrived there at 12:49pm and left at 1:14pm. How do I know this? I'll leave this to your imagination but I have framed images and a live-feed video of this incident complete with time-stamps so neither the company or driver can weasel their way out of this or deny the accusations. Now, the average or curious person may ask why I'm crying about a $20 trash can. Yes, it's a $20 trash can that wasn't damaged and is still functional. However, my point is, the driver's careless driving and negligence, and obliviousness to the situation gives me reason to ask TruGreen why you would want this clown not only driving your vehicles, but also representing your company. Additionally, there are neighbors' vehicles parked in this area on any given day of the week and any given time. If school had not been in session, the neighbor kids would been out playing ball. This moron is lucky he didn't strike another object of more significant value. If this is how TruGreen's owners (I'm assuming their franchisees) operate a business and keep people like this hired, then it will boggle my mind how they will stay in business any longer. They are horrible! Don't waste your money on lawn service with them because they are not worth your time especially if they offer you a discount on lawn care because that is exactly what you will get horrible service with a very low quality of work! You are better off finding another lawn service who actually proactively takes care of your lawn like we did or doing it yourself. They never resolved the moss growing in one side of our yard as they said they would that any normal person can see. They applied our insect treatment and weed reducing treatment literally an hour before it rained which any normal person who goes to home depot or lowes knows is not appropriate for it to be effective. Tons of clover and other weeds afterwards and tons of bugs. When you call them to complain they say they will re-treat for free and never do because our normal 4-6 week treatment still occurred at the normally scheduled time with no extra "free" re-do treatment in between. Then to make it even better, the agent we spoke to last on the phone assured us a supervisor would call us back, it's a week later and we are still waiting on their call! Nice! It's pretty apparent why they have to discount their services to get business because their product and their customer service sucks! It was so bad after the first week we had to schedule them when one of us would be home just to make sure they were actually doing their job! One time we got the automated call that they came to treat out yard and the typical yard signs and door hanger they are supposed to aways leave were not there at all which is what prompted us to schedule them when we were home. Epic fail TruGreen! If you are wise you will stay away from this company! read more

Do not use this company. They are not specialists in anything other than collecting your money. For three years they have done our lawn service and - mostly out of being lazy - we have never bothered to change even though their services were subpar. However after today, we will no longer use their service. We went most of the summer with treatments being applied *maybe* every six weeks (while previous summers it was twice or once a month). Then, they did our aeration in August (normally done in Oct). Today I get a call that we are having a service tomorrow. Why is that bad? We JUST had a treatment less than a week ago. Also, they will hound you about other services. I finally told them that when they got my yard looking nice, then they can talk to me about their other services. But they weren't doing that and I wasn't paying more for them to do another poor job. There's plenty of other lawn service companies out there and we will be using them instead next year. Oh - and don't bother trying to speak to a manger. They apparently don't have anyone in authority to speak with about a problem. read more

Don't believe the special deals offered, they are all lies. Despite instructions given, they just show up and charge for service not requested. They are not about providing service, they are about ripping you off. Instructions were given not to do aeration. They called and left a message on a Thursday and Friday morning they were aerating my lawn and charged my account over $1000.00 before I was able to call them. They say conversations are recorded but, miraculously they don't have any recordings of our conversations. Such a ripoff. read more

Do not use them!! We have used them for several years and results were subpar. But we just let it go. This year, after the August treatment, I began to see a lot of dry patches in our back lawn. Thinking it was just the lack of rain, I let it go. We are now at Labor Day and almost my whole yard is dead. I called Trugreen and they said someone would get back to me. No one did. I called repeatedly over then next 3 weeks (multiple times per week).. No one called back. Finally after much ranting the customer service assured me it would be resolved and scheduled for someone to come out. He did - could not explain what happened, took a soil sample and again, assured me someone would call me the next day. Well, that didn't happen. Again I began calling back in for resolution. In the meantime I had several other services come out and tell me they didn't know what it was and it was definitely not grubs. After another desperate call (and being told that the sample was sent to the University of Maryland for evaluation and that took 3 months and it could possibly be this crazy new weed - all this from someone who HAS NEVER EVEN SEEN MY LAWN), I was assured that the manager would call me back. He came out (Irwin Love). Couldn't figure it out. Came back 2 days later with someone else and told me it was grubs. (Remember I have had 2 evaluations previously that said no grubs AND if it was that easy why didn't they see it before!!!!) I told him cancel the service and no more treatments.. He sent someone out anyway... But told me there was no charge. I then got a call back from a very nasty lady who pretty much said I was a liar and they had no record of me calling to complain so many times.. I reiterated that my service should be cancelled. Today I got a bill for $99. I called yet again - obviously they never credited what they said they would. DONE... They have no idea what they are doing. You are wasting your money read more

I prepaid TruGreen for lawn care throughout the summer. Although they claimed they would come to survey and treat the lawn at an appointed time, no one ever came, and no one from the company ever phoned to let us know of any change in plans. I phoned them again and an agent told me someone would come to take care of our lawn the following Monday. No one ever came, and again, I did not receive a phone call from their offices. I again called, and this time an agent told me that no appointment was made for anyone to come to our address. This after a three-week wait, prepayment, and attempts to have the company respond to my requests. I also sent an on-line email, using their 'contact' computer page. This was also ignored by their office. I'm pretty upset with this company.
