Not only does it feel like a home with home cooked mealthe curated furnishings and art, but the people that work there are what make it so special. This team has some amazing people on it! The caregivers at Tiffin House Assisted Living and Memory Care do great work that is a work of the heart. They nurture and care for our families, not only taking care of the required daily things, but the show them with love & care in the ways that the residents need and want it. Mom enjoyed her time at Tiffin House and so did I. I spent many an evening and night with her and days when I could so that I could keep mom company & help her heal. I was lucky to be able to bring mom from the hospital straight to Tiffin for skilled nursing rehab (they came and did it in-house) after mom had a broken leg. Each time you move someone with dementia it can cause decline so I was happy she could move once and love her days at Tiffin. I can't say enough great things about the women who cared for my mom. They know who they are and I love them so much for caring for her in this last part of her life. The care was so good and Mom was so determined that she even "graduated" off of hospice care and was walking again & doing so much better recovering from being a pedestrian hit by a car on Stan Schlueter Rd in Killeen (55 mph 5 lane). You never think an accident like that could happen when you're paying Visiting Angels of Killeen to provide a caregiver to watch your mom, but it did happen. My hope is Visiting Angels trains their staff like Tiffin House trains theirs. Justin Trodahl, President of Tiffin House, has training for employees but also training for families who have a loved one with Dementia/Alzheimer's. The training makes a big difference, especially when living with folks who have dementia/Alzheimer's. My heart is full of love for these gals who do the hard work of everyday life, and feel the sad loss when their residents pass away. Tears were shed by many, and we had some good cries together when my mom passed away. They say once you are at Tiffin you are a part of the family and it is true.

It was clear to us from our very first visit that Tiffin House was the right place for mom. There was never a dull moment anytime we visited. Also, more importantly, thank you to the wonderful staff for the love and kindness you all showed to our mom and us during her time at Tiffin House. We could not have asked for a better experience during these past 3 1/2 years. We love all of you, even the Aggies. Hook 'Em! Mike M.

I knew two other families who had family members there previously and we liked the smaller, more homelike setting with private rooms and a maximum of ten residents. Our mother received the kind of loving care we wanted for her and every staff member treated her sweetly and gently. We visited daily at different times and the home was ALWAYS clean and well kept. I grew attached to both the girls caring for mom and the other residents. When Mom went on hospice the director, Nu, worked well with the scheduling and medication management. Nu seemed to be available to her staff at all hours for questions and decisions. The owner, Sindhu, is very nice and caring as well. I have nothing bad to say about Sedro. When Mom passed away, they were with us every step of the way. Mom was cared for and kept safe and we will be forever grateful that homes like this help families like us when it all becomes more than we can do by ourselves.

While there are a couple of very caring employees, they do not (and cannot) provide the majority of the care in a 24/7 environment. Most employees here are inexperienced and the turnover rate is high (even observed within the brief time that I visited). High turnover rates are almost always due to unfair treatment from business owners and it's not a stretch to then imagine how the residents are treated. If you want your loved one to get quality attention and care, look for a facility that is classified as a "skilled nursing" facility; they must meet higher educational and qualification standards than an "assisted living" facility. Also, if you decide this is the place for your loved one and you come to an agreement with the owner about anything, get it in writing. Although she admitted she made an agreement, she said she wasn't going to honor it and didn't 'have to' because she didn't sign anything. That behavior wouldn't be surprising from some business owners, but it's particularly appalling in this line of work. Resources abound on the Internet; I wish I had had more time to research this properly. There are numerous lists on the web of questions to ask when researching living facilities; to them, I'd add: 1) ask questions about the staff, i.e. their education, certification, professional experience, longevity with the facility, etc. - these are the people who will engage with your loved one on a daily basis, so you'll want to know how they are qualified 2) visit unannounced and ask for a tour and 3) look for a visitor and ask them what they like/dislike about the care their loved one is getting.

My wife needed extensive physical and occupational therapy. The Oscar's assisted living pricing was the most competitive. Their pricing is fixed for rehab and assisted living. That means no surprises at the end of each billing cycle. We have also found the management team to be superb. Jasmine Walker (Sales), Craig Lentz(Executive Chef) and Melissa Russell (Assistant Director), have provided the information and delivered on the services promised in their marketing literature. In April, 2026 we attended one of the Oscar's semi formal event for residents and their families. It was terrific. Kudos to Hannah Neuffer - Lifestyle Director and her department for the wonderful decorations and Hannah for the great entertainment with the Mark Charles Band. Chief Craig Lentz - Dining Director never fails to amaze diners with his entrees, sides and desserts. Chef Lentz provides wonderful meals throughout the day. We love The Bistro, The Poppy dining room and Jon's Bar. We have also found the daily activities offer a nice variety to help ensure residents have interesting and fun things to do during the day. They were not unaddressed because of the people who worked in assisted living but more because the larger organization lacks a comprehensive vision of senior care. The Wesleyan has the possibility to be an exceptional community but the lack of education for staffing, the lack of an integrated community understanding of senior care, the wagging of the entire vision of the community by the finance office has deadened the significant impact on resident care. As a non-profit the failure to be creatively engaged in their community by reshaping their board and advanced engagement in the community through education on senior care set them alongside all other senior communities with little or nothing unique or interesting. If you choose to use their service you will be safe, fed and sheltered and have a number of other activities but nothing uniquely special that sets them apart from all the other facilities and retirement centers.

The care here is excellent and personal and catered to dementia patients. Their approach to having resident's do as many things on their own is a much better way rather that having them highly sedated ( as we saw in some other facilities). The facility is bright, welcoming and has different activities which keep the residents occupied. Some other benefits have been having a nurse/doctor who visits the facility rather than having to go outside. They are very accommodating to help work on different diet restrictions as well. Overall, can't say enough good things about all the folks here starting with Char, Jane and going through all the caregivers who help care for all the residents.
