Sadly, however, the owner of this FRANCHISE location, Sunil, taints the entire organization. I hope that corporate takes notice and addresses it because he is ruining their brand. To be clear, I am not an employee of Comfort Keepers (CK), nor am I a client. I am, however, a third party who has interacted with a few of their caregivers. Some of the caregivers have been wonderful and others spent time during their shift on the phone complaining about how much they disliked CK, were late, and treated the clients poorly. One almost crashed a car. I am writing mainly to address Sunil, though, who is the owner of this FRANCHISE. As mentioned above, I am a third party, not a client, who has personally observed the CK caregivers in action. Sunil is a bully. He calls his CK caregivers at late hours and early hours and threatens them into submission. He pays them nothing. He does not give them reasonable hours, forcing them to seek employment elsewhere. When they do seek employment elsewhere at reasonable wages and with reasonable hours, he threatens and intimidates them without any legal merit. I will not stand by and let Sunil do this to good people who are literally doing selfless work: taking care of adults who cannot care for themselves. I challenge Sunil to work one shift in his employee's shoes bathing adults, helping them dress, and keeping them company; I doubt he could do it and I bet he never has. The caregiving industry does not pay well. Agencies like CK connect caregivers and clients, which is a true benefit, but in my experience they do not provide enough hours to allow an employee to only work for CK. The only way a caregiver can truly afford to make a living is to go private, or work multiple jobs which is exhausting. Sunil uses bullying and intimidation tactics to scare his employees out of seeking alternate opportunities leaving them with very little options and struggling to make ends meet. This is predatory and illegal. There is nothing legally preventing his employees from obtaining alternate employment opportunities as long as it doesn't interfere with their job duties, except Sunil's own threats. I hope CK employees read this and educate themselves. I hope CK corporate reads this and addresses Sunil. I also hope Dyanna is scooped up by another company because she is a valuable employee and deserves to work for someone who isn't a bully. I will keep referring her to others since Sunil clearly doesn't value his employees.

We honestly don't know what we would have done without Visiting Angels over the past several weeks…read more When our family suddenly needed full-time care for my mother-in-law following a hospitalization, they pulled together coverage incredibly quickly and gave us tremendous peace of mind during a very stressful time. Since then, they have been wonderful to work with. The caregivers provided detailed information about what they were observing, which helped us understand what she actually needed when we weren't there. As her needs changed, the office adjusted her care schedule - more than once - without making the process difficult. They've also taken the time to find caregivers who are a good personality fit for her. When someone wasn't a good match, they handled it professionally and without making an already difficult situation more stressful. We now have several caregivers she genuinely enjoys spending time with. I've probably asked the office a million questions and made almost as many requests, and they have consistently been responsive, patient and helpful. We went from needing 24/7 care on very short notice to a much lighter daily companionship schedule, and they've helped us navigate every stage of that transition. Caring for an aging family member can be overwhelming, and Visiting Angels has made this part of it significantly easier for our family. After speaking with our mom, Natalie shared with my brother and I her thoughts on the next steps. She said she was hopeful that the care that Home Care Assistance of Austin provides would be a good choice for our mom, but that we might want to go ahead and look into some memory care facilities, just in case it didn't work out. This advice was reassuring in that we understand that Natalie could have only offered her opinion as a business owner but instead, she spoke truthfully about the reality of our mom's condition and encouraged us to be prepared. I went to visit for my first time a few days ago and I was just in awe of their facility. This is a HOME not just an assisted living. It is beautiful and they put so much thought in everything they did to build this. I met many residents and they were so happy and having so much fun. Throughout each stage, the staff at The Delaney took excellent care of my mom. She was at the highest level of care in assisted living, and shortly after moving to memory care, she needed hospice care. The Delaney staff who cared for her along with the hospice staff during her final week were more than caring--they made sure her needs were met while treating her with compassion, dignity, and respect. I especially want to recognize Bobbie, the med tech, who gently stroked my mom's hair after administering her medication, and Charles, who took the utmost care when assisting Mom. Those thoughtful gestures meant so much to our family. We also recently held my mom's memorial service at The Delaney, and one of the staff members, Rob Sterk, provided a Christian service for our family. That was truly a step above and beyond, and it meant so much to us. We wanted a place where our parents could age in place, and that is exactly what The Delaney provided.
