Needed a TB test for work. Called to make the appointment and was told I could get an appointment at the Encinitas office the same day at 4. While driving to the appointment ~ received a message from Jillian that they were unable to honor my appointment. Called to find out what the problem was and the person that answered the phone had no idea and said the appointment was still valid.......however if I was not there at the appointed time then it was too late. I would caution against seeing the PA, Sarah Landis. Not only is she incredibly rude and unprofessional, but she is also condescending, argumentative and unkind. Instead of leading with compassion, Sarah became angry when I asked questions to better understand her decision making. This may come from her lack of experience and young age, causing her to feel insecure. However, those facts do not excuse her disgusting behavior. I have never experience this from a HCP before, ever! Patients always have a right to question their healthcare provider and to be part of the decision making process without fear of retribution. To make matters worse, I overheard Sarah speaking horribly about me to another staff member when she thought I'd left. Without a doubt, Sarah Landis is THE absolute worst example of an arrogant, mean-spirited provider. Run, don't walk! read more

Still no accountability here. Management had no phone and no email for you to contact them. You can only leave a message with a TruCare rep on the phone and then a manager will call you back once. If you miss that call you never talk to anyone and of course they can't give you an email or phone to call them back. Completely absurd! They comment on yelp to save face but you're never able to talk to anyone. This clinic needs to tell its doctors and chiropractors and staff to stop wearing fragrance. Fragrances are a migraine trigger and asthma trigger for a large percentage of the population and in not having a fragrance free clinic, you are not accessible to those with disabilities. Other countries and other clinics already mandate fragrance free for this reason. Please do better. read more

I am a new patient and have never seen PA Stephanie Roe. I had a telephone conversation to establish care with her this morning. She was cold and rude right off the bat. I answered questions about my health honestly and with in 4 minutes after speaking to Stephanie and never meeting me she threatened me with reports to dmv to suspend my license. Not looking at any of my bloodwork, or not speaking with any previous medical care. Her response was, if you loose your license I won't police you. You can still drive and I won't report you??? So basically I'm following the law but, you don't have to??? Im a healthy 39 year old female with children. I don't drink or smoke and live a healthy lifestyle. My appointment was for bloodwork and a cardiologist referral! Within 4 minutes Stephanie decided all this. She was extremely rude and unprofessional . If you want good care where you can actually get a hold of your doctor s and not be treated negligently like a number and a horrible clinic system for the love of God. Please go somewhere else for your health. Like all the other reviews, there's a very common theme that I'm going to reiterate. Like another review says they have no interest in treating root cause they are in League with big pharma. All they want to do is prescribe you meds. Keep you sick and ignore you. I know this for a fact because they to this day they keep pushing the covid vaccine on me every time I go in when it's proven to have horrible and deadly side effects. In addition, if you ever have an urgent issue like I just had with my blood work. Well, too bad because you can't even call the doctor's office. You have to call a call center that they use for all their facilities. So the wait time is horrendous and the service is horrendous and all they do is use this stupid online "MyChart" system that messages whoever you're trying to get a hold of which can take three to five business days to get a response! Communication between doctor and Patient is Paramount. I do not know how this is allowed or how they ever thought that putting an intermediary between patient and doctor would improve anything. If you have any thoughts or opinions that differ from the doctor, they immediately get hostile with you and tell you you're wrong like they know your body better than you. I had to beg for a certain blood test that the doctor wasn't going to give and my levels are so low it everything I've searched on the internet, All the legit medical websites say this is an emergency situation that needs immediate Care and my doctor when I finally got a call from him after sending message after message calling the call center and threatening malpractice just to get a phone call just for the doctor to get on the phone and be super annoyed with the fact that I wanted information about how worried I should be, what could be the causes, medical advice for the meantime a referral to a specialist but no I get met with a cold callus annoyed angry doctor because I messaged him to get information. He literally told me" we are not on your beckoning call" and then HOSTILY hung up on me simply because I asked for his medical license #.He then proceeded to lie on his after action report or the note report about the phone call. He did not try to help me at all, he didn't give me any reassurance about my lab results nor any medical advice. Just telling me to get retested...because I didn't get the test before 10am which he NEVER told me or put it in the order, and I got tested at 1140, it's a hormone issue, I know it's more optimal to collect blood for that before 10am technically but hormones don't work like that they production is a slow process and a 2 hour difference is not going to drop my levels to where they are at 4x lower than the Lowest end of the normal range which in 34 year old male is absolutely an urgent situation. It feels like very negligent care which I see repeatedly in these other reviews. All they want to do is push perceptions and vaccines and get paid by insurance for every little thing. These people need to lose their licence. My mom is a Paralegal for a firm that does class action lawsuits so if you feel like you've received negligent care, or any of your rights violated or any issues please send me a direct message. ZERO STARS. they post replies on the review sites to save face but a 2.7 stars on yelp doesn't lie, you email the "customer service" and tell you in these comments they want to "hear about your experience" but you still get ignored with zero responses. Poor healthcare. But I guess that's what you get for low income. WAIT TIMES are horrible. Expect to spend close to 2 hours from start to finish. DOCTORS lack personal interest and are very rude. My daughter was called fat by her doctor and my husband had to make a later appointment (during their normal business hours) and he heard them complaining about him scheduling his appointment so late....They were upset they had to stay until 4:20pm. APPOINTMENTS are difficult to get. You'll be on the phone from anywhere from 30 min-1hr just to talk with someone. They never call you back with results even though that's what they say they'll do. If you want good healthcare this isn't the place to go. It's a joke! read more

I see many poor experience reviews, but I've been coming here and bringing my children here for the last 7 years and I've got nothing but great experiences. They are always available when I need, sometimes my children's primary is booked up so I always ask to get scheduled in any other of their Truecare facilities (they have several in Sd) and I always end up getting seen sometimes in the same day. They always take good care of us. Getting referrals hasn't been an issue either. It was an issue once but that was because of my insurance, the doctor had actually put it in the same day we spoke but the insurance was giving me problems. I live in temecula and always come down to Encinitas Truecare office to get seen, or get my kids seen, won't go anywhere else. read more

Dr Lydia D'Souza of NCHS saved my life. I was scheduled to be on a 4 week Boat/Surf trip in the most Northern Parts of Sumatra Indonesia. I went to see the doctor for Travel Vaccines for my 1st visit to her office. Within 60 seconds she diagnosed that my heart was only beating on the bottom half. 3 heart shocks and 2 heart surgeries later I am here to profess my love to the Doctor that saved my life. I have an AMAZING doctor here however it takes literally hours to get though to a receptionist. Each time I call through to them the wait time gets longer and longer. I had an appointment in the first week of July and they said they would order a referral for me. It's now the first week of August and I have had nobody from referrals reach out to me. My most recent attempt when calling referrals took 1 hour and 46 mins I hung up at that point. I would like to remain at this location, however If their customer services doesn't improve I may have to reconsider. read more

BE CAREFULL. There are two "doctors" that you need to stay away from here. 1. Dr Lydia DeSouza- primary care- I saw her in order to get a referral for physical therapy for a lower back sports injury. She was very rude from the start. She kept telling me I needed to change my shoes and I told her I always wear running shoes but that day I was wearing sandals and she still continued to tell me to change my shoes and would not listen to me about my sports injury. She then went on and on about how I need to sit straighter. I told her I always sit straight and the only reason I was hunched over was because my back was in pain. She then said that I was disrespecting her...??? what in the world woman? holy jesus christ shes crazy!! 2. Dr Eric Simpson- behavioral health- A therapist is supposed to help guide you in life and support you right? Not in this case. I saw Dr Simpson and every single time I would tell him my goals that I want to achieve (like becoming a film maker and going to law school) all he did was laugh in my face and tell me my goals are unrealistic. I was curious as to what notes he was typing during our session and he said if I wanted to know then go request my records. He is extremely rude and pessimistic. I feel bad for these poor souls. These people are negative and toxic. They decided to settle in life and think big dreams and aspirations are impossible due to their own thoughts. I was really looking forward to start going to the North County Health services chiropractic location in Encinitas as I just moved and it is much closer to my new home. I have been seeing the Chiropractor who has been fantastic and really helped my pain in the San Marcos location. I have also been to the Oceanside location. But to my shock the Encinitas clinic was a extremely small room which made me feel claustrophobic and the walls had patches that were filled and painted with a different color paint. Even though the staff was very Professional the room did not feel so at all. Hopefully they will make some improvements, and find a more appropriate sized room to this location. read more

I have been to LOTS of doctors this past year, due to a back injury. I am unfortunately becoming an expert on what makes a great doctor vs. a terrible one. Fortunately today, I met with a great one. Dawn Turner is a PA (or NP) at NCHS. I had the pleasure of meeting with her yesterday to get setup with NCHS. She took the time to really listen to all my issues. I explained how disappointed I have been in my search for a new primary and the lack of caring thus far. Once I laid out all my issues, she set me up with physical therapy, x-rays, an MRI and the anti-inflammatory that I take regularly. Wow!! Up until now, I've had to deal with worker's comp docs who clearly didn't give a crap or local primary docs that wanted to give me the least amount of treatment possible and get me out the door (Thomas Watson M.D.). Thank you so much Dawn and NCHS for restoring my faith in doctors and the system. I think I have finally found my new primary. read more

This is my new primary care facility. Not by choice. When I entered, three staff members were at the front desk. They continued their conversation as if I wasn't there. While I could tell it was not gossip, the convo was regarding non-urgent administrative details, and imho did not warrant ignoring me completely for several minutes. Why this irks me: I make a serious effort to arrive on time, in order to avoid inconveniencing the staff and other patients. Staff demonstrated that they do not hold my time in the same high regard. My appointment was for 1:15. I arrived promptly but was not seen by the nurse until after two. Also, while other staff politely knocked on the door before entering the exam room, the nurse did not, which seemed inappropriate. I have a chronic pain condition. I was not instructed to bring my medications to the appointment, but upon arriving I was told that I should have brought them. Another major inconvenience, requiring another trip back and forth to Encinitas from Del Mar. I wondered why they couldn't just pull my meds list from my previous doctor, since they had me sign a release for my medical records. Also, I had been told by my previous doctor that a drug test legally requires signed permission (informed consent) from the patient. The tech at this facility merely told me they wanted a urine sample. I asked why. The tech went away to ask...came back and told me it was for a drug screen. So if I hadn't asked, I would not have been informed of the drug test. The nurse practitioner seemed very knowledgeable and took time to discuss my medications and her proposed changes, which were considerable. Although I understood her reasoning, the massive changes made me insecure, disoriented and defensive. The entire clinic was clean and apparently well-staffed. But I didn't exit the building until almost three pm...with instructions to return with all my current meds before I would receive any of my new prescriptions. Seems they have little regard for my time or my immediate needs, and little respect for me or my previous doctor. I had confidence in my previous physician, and I know he respected and trusted me as well. It's a known fact that the doctor-patient relationship plays a huge role in a patient's prognosis. This facility displayed no confidence in my previous provider, while making it clear that they didn't trust me, either. Not a good start for an ongoing relationship. read more

I recommend not using this provider: * It takes sometimes over a month to get a prescription filled!! * When they demand for me to make an appointment to get a prescription filled, they don't have any appointments available for over a month. * I've never actually seen a doctor, only a nurse practitioner. Also, since I don't like this provider, when I broke my leg this year I walked on it for 11 days because I didn't want to come in. These people have treated me great. Dawn Turner is my primary doctor. And I have had nothing but excellent care from her. But if she is busy there is always someone else to see me. The staff is kind and courteous and always try their best. It is obvious they are very busy, like any good medical facility. If they don't have an appointment right away. You just call back and check for cancellations. There are lots of cancellation. I'd say the bad reviews are just from people that expect to call once and have everything handed to them on a silver platter, there are rules and protocol the N.C.H.S.have to abide by. They walked me through everything I needed to do to get medical insurance, and are doing the same thing for my adult son. I had a serious accident in December. In all honesty I would probably be dead right now if it were not for them. Or at least up to my eyeballs in debt. They make everything so easy. Horrible!!!!!! The wait time, even pre-COVID, to speak with someone is ridiculous. It's always at least 30 minutes. I've called 4 times now regarding my blood work and was told "it looks like they sent the clinical notes to a department that doesn't handle that, so they just ignored it". Super unprofessional and negligent. I got blood work done and was prescribed an iron supplement without any conversation or update regarding my iron levels and I've been trying to get my report for weeks. Wonderful, helpful, patient,caring staff! Dr. D'Souza is the best! She is thorough and efficient. She's upbeat and interested in your personally. The appointments can run a little later than scheduled but when does that not happen at any doctor's office. I like that all my concerns can be addressed at the same time. I've had referrals to other doctors for specific conditions and all have worked out well. The doctors and nurses at this location are kind and knowledgeable, but I believe that they are understaffed. The customer service is very poor. Average wait time to make an appointment over the phone is approximately 1 hour. Average wait time to speak with a nurse regarding pediatric questions is over 1 hour. Approximately 50% of my voicemails for the nursing staff have been returned. The front desk staff are very busy and, as a result, often curt with the patients. While I like the clinic and health professionals, this location severely lacks in customer service, making me wish we could go elsewhere for pediatric care. Update: 17 Oct 2014 I have called the billing office no less than 5 times regarding a billing issue. I have left messages detailing my issue and providing a call back number. They have not responded or handled the issue. This office is poorly run. The billing office is poorly run. I recommend going anywhere else for healthcare. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the American Academy of Pediatrics. read more

I went in for a sick call appointment two Fridays ago. I was sent for blood work at a different lab so I went very first thing the next Monday. After waiting 6 business days, I had not heard from the doctor with my results. I called the office this Tuesday to get an update and I was told the doctor hadn't reviewed them yet. I called today, now two weeks from my appointment and 10 days from blood work, and had to leave a message. I love that they are taking my health so haphazardly. Love this office my children's doctor was originally at the Oceanside location but moved to Encinitas all of the doctors here are wonderful even when we can't see their regular doctor we are treated very well both of my children have autism and the doctors and staff here are very calming and understanding of how to treat them I can't say enough about this place would recommend to everyone!!!! read more

I was very disappointed with my first visit. The front desk staff and nurses were very friendly and helpful. When the Doctor came in to the exam room, she rushed through my medical history questions, and questioned every answer that i gave her about vaccinations. I felt as if the only thing she was willing to do during my visit was load me up with shots. She asked what the reason for my visit, I said that I hadn't been to a doctor in over 6 years. She gave me a referral to a dermatologist, barely did a physical exam, and kept answering the door when there were several knocks. Then she rushed out of the room without even a goodbye. The nurse in the room said that my appointment was done. I explained that i had a few more things I wanted to go over with the Doctor. He checked with the Doctor, who said that I would need to schedule another appointment to ask any more questions. I was shocked by this. I had already waited 3 weeks for this appointment and was given about 10 minutes with a doctor. I did not feel that the doctor cared about my health whatsoever.
