For someone who claims to have been in business as long as he has, you wouldn't know it by the way…read morehe treats his paying customers. I would not recommend him to anybody after being talked to rudely over the phone and through emails. Apparently, he's shortstaffed these days, and unable to deliver firewood within a reasonable amount of time. By that, I mean one month or less. I ordered on October 1st (thinking that would be enough advance notice to have some wood before winter) only to get it on February 1st. That took a phone call to get too. By that time, winter is half over here in KC, so what was the point? I obviously didn't mean enough to him to get it here in time. That's not how you get repeat business. A bad attitude will kill a business quicker than anything I now. You can't "cherry pick" your customers. Go elsewhere for wood, is my recommendation. You can have the best wood in town and it still won't matter if you treat people poorly.

I don't want to sound like a party pooper but I'm a bit over the whole "go to the farm" experience that seems to be rather pricey, even to a New Yorker like me. This goes for Christmas trees, too. When I think of the size tree I could get at a corner lot in Brooklyn for the price they are selling Charlie Brownesque trees at in these places, well... yeah, I get cynical. Don't get me wrong. I want to support the local farm as much as the next person but at a family-owned nursery like this one, you are coming as close as you can. I mean, I'll do what it takes to avoid buying this stuff at Home Depot (probably because I avoid HD at all cost). Anyway, say you're short on time and don't want to drive to a farm, nor o you have time for the whole experience involved... Thank you for being just a couple blocks away, Sunshine Flowers and for having such fantastic staff, quality items and prices.
