As to pricing, I labeled this as moderate, but really I think it just depends on what plant, planter, garden art, etc., you're looking for--the prices seem reasonable to me. For instance, a half dried out large fern at Home Depot will run $14.99 but a gorgeous full fern that is miraculously all green will run you $29 here so as the old adage goes, you pay for what you get I suppose! My haul consisted of two gorgeous hanging baskets (for the moms), several begonias and trailing purple beauties for my front concrete planter, some basil for my herb planter, a large cherry tomato plant (already with 50+ tomatoes on it!) and a few mixed pots for landscaping. You finish your scavenger hunt, you get a prize. And if you complete one of the harder scavenger hunt you get 10% off your purchase. Because of the holiday party they were already doing 20% tho. Everyone so sweet and kind. They guided us where to go for the scavenger hunt when it got hard! Everyone was friendly and assisted my friend on picking out a healthy plant. I had occasion today to visit Heartland Nursery this morning. I have heard from a number of people…read morethat they are essentially "out of inventory" as they plan sell their business around the June time frame. I was shocked when I saw how much inventory they have in stock. I had occasion to speak with Sam the owner and told him that I kept hearing from people that they were essentially out of stock. He said to me they have more inventory this year than they have had in the history of the company. He was very kind given the circumstances. The items we purchased were marked down 25%.  I just wanted to relay this to let you know that their nursery is robust, and Sam stated they have plenty more inventory coming in!!!

One never took root and and was in shock from the time it was planted in the spring of last year. I took pictures of the tree and the dead leaves with no new growth and sent the pics. I called and emailed and they said to wait until next year to see if it came out of it. I called at the beginning of this spring and the guy said he wasn't sure if they would cover it since it had been over a year since we bought. Yes it had been just over a year with waiting to see if it would make it next spring like I was told. Heck you even get a 1 year warranty from the big box stores. So why spend the money which is 3 times the price at the box store and 30% of the cost of the tree for them to plant and NOT stand behind their product. NOT AGAIN!

It also helps that there are approximately 160 million people working there on a given weekend, especially during planting season. Very helpful staff, an amazing array of flowering plants, as well as succulents and indoor selections. Pricing is fair and you can be sure that what you're getting has been well tended to, so even a fumbling green thumb like me isn't likely to kill it. Note that parking can be a challenge, but find a space and take in the peaceful atmosphere in the greenhouse. If you have the time, then check out the Koi pond in the far backspace of the perennial garden. Amazingly tranquil, these graceful carp seem to make everything OK.
