Amazing knowledgeable customer service, if you ask someone who doesn't know the answer they find the person who does. Great selections and absolutely love the seasonal changes at Family Tree! Prices may be a little higher than some places, but I think you get better quality and customer service for it. read more

Would highly recommend! The plants here are in great shape, reasonably priced, and offer a huge variety. The workers were very helpful and offered some great insight for our project. This location is smaller than the Overland Park location and because of that offers a smaller variety of "extras" such as pots and knickknacks. read more

Family Tree Nursery - Mums - Nurseries & Gardening Near Me - Liberty, Missouri

Horrible service and warranty! We paid almost $1100 for two 7 gallon maple trees and had them install them for us. One never took root and and was in shock from the time it was planted in the spring of last year. I took pictures of the tree and the dead leaves with no new growth and sent the pics. I called and emailed and they said to wait until next year to see if it came out of it. I called at the beginning of this spring and the guy said he wasn't sure if they would cover it since it had been over a year since we bought. Yes it had been just over a year with waiting to see if it would make it next spring like I was told. Heck you even get a 1 year warranty from the big box stores. So why spend the money which is 3 times the price at the box store and 30% of the cost of the tree for them to plant and NOT stand behind their product. NOT AGAIN! read more

They carry a nice variety of plants. Every time I go in with either a question or looking for a certain type of plant there is someone to help me find just what I need. read more

Will absolutely never be back! Both me and my partner felt uncomfortable on multiple occasions shopping here. From the moment we walked in, we felt an odd feeling like were being watched and just stared at by the senior staff. Used to go every Saturday and spend a good amount, yet the moment we walk not even 3 steps out to the tree section, we were greeted by a employee that wouldn't leave us alone and couldn't take the hint we just wanted to browse but insisted we go back inside because of one particular flower in hand, we said we didn't need help and just kept recommending we go back in. Then when checking out the manager walked over and just stood 6 ft to my left by the door watching me take all of my items out of the basket then walked away when I pulled my card out. I'm not the only one that's had that experience here and when confronting the manager about it he didn't ask questions or visibly didn't care. Really don't appreciate being profiled. read more

Prices are so high. Compared to Colonial Gardends and other nursery's including Home Depot and Lowe's. I will not be going back. I will be surprised if they stay in business. They will price themselves out of business. read more

What a wonderful store!!! The staff was very friendly and helpful. I purchased a plant for my mom for her birthday and she absolutely loved it!! There was a massive selection of plants which felt like a rain forrest. The price of the pots and plants were very reasonable and it had a lot of value to my mom. She loves it so much! I will definitely be shopping her again. read more

Lovely place! All the staff is so friendly and helpful. I can spend a whole afternoon here.

Great selection of healthy plants and seeds. The flowers are beautiful. The only down side is this place is too small on weekends with everyone and all of the plants everywhere. It's just a little too crowded on the weekend so if a lot of people are not your thing, plan a week day trip. Staff is very friendly and helpful. read more

If you need or want to plant something then you have to go to Family Tree Nursery. I was guided here, so thankful. They have everything. I had no intention of buying anything and walked away with five plants. Everything looked healthy colorful and the variety and selection they have is like nowhere I've ever seen. The employees are super helpful and knowledgeable. read more

I enjoy this nursery very much! The staff is kind and helpful and I love the selection of plants and planters! I always find something I can't live without! I definitely recommend them to any gardener or person interested in house plants. Family Tree Nursery - the amazing plants i bought!! - Nurseries & Gardening Near Me - Liberty, Missouri

Love this place. Have lived in the Northland for many years, and didn't even know they were there until about 4 years ago. Stumbled on to them while searching for a perennial no one else in the city seemed to have. The staff at this location is exceptional. Friendly, knowledgeable, and very attentive. Not high pressure in any way, but certainly there to help educate you on which plants will adapt well to you soil and lighting conditions. Travis, Marco, John... And this list goes on and on. These guys know their stuff and make the shopping experience top notch. They stay busy, with not much time to be chatty, but they will assist with questions and customer needs in a heartbeat. Have been to many nurseries all around the greater Kansas City area, extending as far as Olathe, Stillwell, St Joseph, Blue Springs, Lee's Summit and everything in between, and have never found another nursery that compares. The only one close is Kaw Valley Greenhouses, but they are seasonal and selection is limited. Family Tree in Liberty... If they don't have what you are looking for, they will seek to get it in or give a good referral. read more

Love this nursery! Staff is very nice and helpful. They answered all my questions and gave me a lot of information on how to take care of my plants. They showed me some new plants they got for this year. Really friendly and awesome staff. I will definitely go back and buy my plants from them. read more

Today I returned a shrub that didn't make it and got store credit. I was asked to speak to Emily. She looked at it, shrugged her shoulders and said, "I don't know what it is. Is it an annual or perrenial?". I said I wasn't that stupid to return an annual. I had all of the paperwork and the picture that comes attached to the container. Emily looked at another clerk and said, "I don't wanna do it. Do you?". I got store credit and left. I will return to spend it, otherwise we will go elsewhere. Too bad for them. We have an entire backyard to fill. read more

I recipe you bought a Magnolia tree from this nursery. Within a week and a half the roots began to rot and the tree was dead. I went into the store with my receipt and some pictures of my tree. Doug was the gentleman who helped me and he took one look at the photos and recognized that it was rotting. He promptly replaced the tree and helped me discuss how I can try to make sure this new tree didn't have the same fate. They have a very knowledgeable staff and they stand behind their products. I will be buying more plants from them in the future and highly recommend them. read more

I went in for the first time about a month ago and had a picture of a hanging basket I got elsewhere the year before. I had no idea the name of the flower. The young woman working quickly asked if I needed help, looked at my photo, and knew exactly what it was. Purslane! I've been back three times now and the quality of flowers are amazing. They have such unique varieties and are more then willing to help. read more

They have a wide variety of patio furniture and decorations out front as well as inside. The new building has a glass roof, so their selection of tropical plants and fountain equipment is great. With a covered outer courtyard and a large greenhouse, their selection during the Spring and Summer is far more than you'd expect. They employ passionate and knowledgeable staff that enjoy talking about plants and combination aspects for your needs. In the Fall/Winter you can shop for Christmas trees and ornaments. read more

Wow! Great nursery! Very knowledgeable and helpful. As soon as we walked in a worker approached us and asked if we had any questions. We had very specific questions and she directed us to a worker who helped us with all our needs. Lora was very helpful and gave us solutions to our problems. Plus the kids got free popcorn! read more
