Inside looks on the upscale side, so this is more of a "nice" place to go like on a date or something. We all went for the AYCE dinner for around $40 per person. The quality of the overall experience simply did not justify the price or the praise this restaurant receives online. Service and customer care were especially disappointing. I understand that restaurants get busy and that no business is perfect, but there is a difference between an occasional mistake and an experience that leaves a customer feeling as though their concerns are not taken seriously. After my experience, I went back and spent more time reading both the positive and negative reviews. What stood out to me was the significant contrast between some of the glowing reviews and the experiences described by dissatisfied customers. Several of the negative reviews seemed much more consistent with what I personally experienced. That contrast made me question how accurately the overall rating represents the customer experience. To be clear, I have no evidence that any reviews are fake, purchased, incentivized, or otherwise improperly obtained, and I am not claiming that they are. I can only say that, in my opinion, the difference between some of the overwhelmingly positive reviews and my actual experience was striking enough to make me skeptical of relying solely on the overall rating. People considering this restaurant should read a range of reviews--including the lower-rated ones--rather than simply looking at the star average. I wish I had done that before deciding to visit. Based solely on my own experience, I cannot recommend Banzai Japanese Bar & Kitchen, and I personally would not return. I hope management takes critical feedback seriously and uses it as an opportunity to improve the experience for future customers.

Essentially the options are plates and sushi, so we did 2 of each, and later took a dragon roll home. Coming inside, it was initially welcomed because of how hot it was outside. But as our bodies began to cool down, I started to notice that it was a little warm in the restaurant too. It wasn't hot, but clearly they were concerned with their PG&E bill. I think one of the younger workers who arrived later noticed it too, because after they got there, the room temperature went down to a comfortable level again.
