I've been taking spin classes at true ride for a little over a year now so this review is long overdue. This is a quality studio with quality instructors that fit every different exercise style. The studio manager Olivia is extremely helpful and great at what she does. The reception staff is friendly and welcoming. There is a shared common area with benches, lockers, and cubbies. The women's bathroom is small but has a shower and is clean and comfortable. There's an array of toiletries available like shampoo, lotion, etc. The music is loud as expected with a spin class. I have noticed in the recent months that the music is getting much louder (probably as the instructor's ears adapt to the sound) and drowns out the instructor's audio. This is where the earplugs they offer come in handy. The price for classes are a little steep but they often do deals and sales around the holidays. I tried true ride a little over 2 years ago, not expecting to love it. I'm not a cardio person, and riding a bike for 45 minutes going nowhere didn't sound like much fun. I could not have been more wrong! You're not just riding a bike, your dancing to music with a group of people who are all there encouraging one another. The energy in the room is fantastic and contagious. The instructors are knowledgeable and encouraging. What started as something to try to get a little workout in once in a while has become my community and something I look forward to every day! I am a spin class junkie. I travel often & enjoy trying different studios in new locations. When True Ride opened in my hometown I had high expectations & was excited to check out the studio & take a class. True Ride exceeded every one of my expectations and I was completely hooked after that very first class! I signed up for their unlimited membership & started taking multiple classes per week. I have been a member for over 3 years and cannot speak highly enough of True Ride. The studio is clean & beautiful with state of the art sound system & bikes and locker & bathroom/shower facilities. The rides are challenging with great music, so fun you almost forget it's a work out. But what sets True Ride apart from the many studios I've visited is the people. Today was my first day ever walking into true ride studio. I don't live in Redding I'm visiting family for the holiday but I'm a regular rider in my hometown. Everybody was very nice including the owner Laurie. They only had one class that day and it was completely booked. Being a business owner myself You always want to accommodate the customer as best as possible. I ride at both my local studios and I have never seen them turn away a rider and especially a new rider. They would bring in bikes from the waiting room or put a all-star rider on the podium and the instructor teaches from the floor. Also first time rider would always get the first ride complimentary. I am very bummed that my experience wasn't the greatest but again I'm very understanding to the circumstances and next time I'm in town I'll definitely book a bike ahead of time... read more

I LOVE TRUERIDE! I have been going for about two years now I think, give or take a month or two. The classes are so fun the music is always great. The instructors are very motivational (Lacey is a tiny TRUERide ninja assassin. She kicks my ass!) The owner's Dan and Laurie are some of the most amazing people I've ever met my life, never make you feel judged and just accept you for who you are (I'm kinda a lot to take in for some people.. Had my first ride today at True Ride and it was fantastic! I absolutely loved the ride, the music, the energy, the fun, the challenge and the lighting. If I had a suggestion it would be to just turn the fans on at the beginning of class even early am. I was so so hot after the first 15 minutes/warm-up. Other than that is was the best spin class I have taken anywhere and I can't wait to try more classes with different instructors. True Ride is a very unique experience and a "must try" in my book! You are made to feel like a friend from the moment you walk in the door and until the moment you leave. EDIT: Increased rating from 3 to 4 stars. Received a call from a more senior True Ride employee (maybe owner?) about a half hour - 45min after this post. She was very pleasant and professional. She offered to extend the expiration date of my classes to 60 days from today. I accepted and plan to book a class as soon as those have posted to my account. Looking forward to getting back there to ride. Maybe another edit and a 5-star rating is close at hand? ******************************************************* Beware: Just found out that the class pass my son and husband got me for Mother's Day 2018 expired. Apparently they have to be used within a year. While I can understand that from a business perspective and maybe my husband was told when he purchased the series, I do not believe this was made plain and clear in all my dealings with their website to establish an account and redeem my gift. Life happens and exercise fell to the lowest priority. Now I'm back in it and ready to go. Just started Orange Theory and wanted to supplement with my credits at True Ride. I was surprised to see no credits on my TR account and called. When I explained the classes were a gift and I didn't realize they expired; that it wasn't clear on the website, the person who answered the phone said "I don't know what to tell you it's all there on all the screens." OK. No problem. Not happy. But I get it. I just think other people should know. In the meantime, I'll just up my commitment with Orange Theory to get more workouts in. read more

I'm sure the workout and the studio is lovely, but unfortunately we weren't able to get in. We called an hour ahead and tried to arrange the voucher ahead of time, and arrived early just in case. We were assured that we were first in line on the waitlist. They then proceeded to assign others ahead of us and told us that they didn't have time to set us up on a bike. By that time we had already filled out waivers and had waited fifteen minutes and they didn't tell us that we had to create accounts. If there wasn't time nor the capacity, I wished they would have let us know so we didn't wait around. Customer service could be more clear and people oriented. read more

Being new to Redding I sought out many different fitness facilities. My neighbor invited me to True Ride and I was hooked ! Besides the awesome cycle classes they offer power weight classes as well. Right a way I became one of the family members! Always positive smile's and encouragement starting with owners Dan and Laurie, receptionist from all the instructors. Always feeling motivated to challenge myself ! Recently I took a 2 1/2 month break. When I returned I was welcomed with open arms by instructor Natalie and Patty. Been going for a couple months now just because I really need the extra workout and it does feel good. It's SO intense guys. Like, I'm 96% introvert, I do not want attention, The room full of hyped up women and music so loud you SHOULD wear earplugs because damage happens faster than you know. It's a lot to handle. I've been enduring it, because like I said I need it, but the straw broke the camels back for me today. Please do not play Jenn Johnson music. I heard it come on and I said in my head to myself, "no, please not Jenn, I cant..." I definitely have many thoughts of this place being a cult, and I've seen too much of that around here lately. sometimes feel that church stuff is being imposed on me, especially subliminally playing Bethel Music and whatnot. I just can't do it anymore , and I guess I totally understand trying to be inspirational and all, but I didn't come to watch the instructors perform, sing and dance, I just want to get fit. Just tried my first True Ride class and it kicked my butt- but in a great way. I'm so happy to see a cycling studio like this in Redding! Lots of attention to detail has been put into every aspect of the cycling studio, dimming and color changing lights, loud current music (although they do offer theme rides too which seem super cool) and nice new and very clean equipment. There is no cliquey vibe here at all all of the fellow riders and staff were super welcoming and seemed genuinely excited for me to be there and to be there themselves- even when I was lateish for my first class... oops! Everyone working out here wasn't fitness model fit either it very much has an all shapes and sizes base group which was refreshing. I have been taking the spin classes included in my gym membership at another local gym for about a year now and although they are AMAZING, probably even more difficult than the class I took a true ride- the atmosphere here can not be matched by a local gym. That being said the cost per class here I believe it's $20 if bought individually (down closer to $10 in bulk packages) is a little high in my opinion but that is what you are paying for... the atmosphere. At the beginning of class there are fresh towels on all of the bikes and and the end of class a girl comes around with fresh ones which was a lovely touch. The digital things on the bike are a huge plus- the instructor can call out what RPM you should be at so that if your unsure of speed you have it digitally right in front of you. Something kind of neat about the bikes I had never experienced before was a "gear shift" type thing that did an automatic 1.5 or 3 turn equivalent tension adjustment for you- the bikes here are the nicest I have ever been on. I own my own spin shoes so did not need to rent any but the ones they had were name brand and clean- the rental is a really wonderful option for someone who doesn't know if they are 100% committed to spinning yet because without the shoes you really do not get the same experience and exertion. I have to agree with another user that the fans should be on from the get go- and I will have to revise this review come summer to comment on how the AC situation is. I sat slightly off center and it was a little difficult to understand the instructor I believe it was just due to my orientation to the speakers though so if you are new to trueride and especially new to spinning definitely sit in the center of the room. If you are new to cycling I'D highly recommend arriving15-20 minutes to your first class so you can have your bike adjusted properly for you and the basics explained but this goes for any spin class anywhere. WOW!! I was visiting family during Spring Break and decided to finally try out True Ride as it has been on my bucket list since they opened. I am so glad I did. I have been to a lot of different kinds of exercise classes and this has trumped everything. The music was amazing. I felt empowered and like I was at a dance party the whole time. When you enter True Ride you think you are coming in for a workout, but you leave feeling like you went to church! So impressed!!! The staff was amazing. Totally recommend Natalie and Patty. What an amazing first experience from start to finish! For starters, their website to purchase and reserve a spot in a class was seamless. When I walked in I signed a sheet, was fitted for a bike and given shoes. I threw my belongings in a locker and was ushered into the studio to my bike and had help getting all set up. Lacey taught the class and for the most part I was able to keep up! She was full of energy and the music selection was great. From AC/DC to Nicki Minaj, I couldn't wipe a smile off my face. At one point Lacey turned the lights off and played instrumental music for us to ride to and talked about self love. It was such a great way to intentionally let go of your stresses from the week. She put candles in front of the new riders to recognize and applaud us. At the end of the class they handed out cold towels that smelled of essential oils. Lastly, there was a bowl of apples for anyone to grab on their way out. Excellent customer service and so much fun! read more
