My first float experience was just... okay. There were loud noises and I could hear people laughing and talking loudly which I bothered me because it's supposed to be a relaxing and calm experience. With that said, I still enjoyed the float itself once the loud noises calmed down, so I made my second appointment and didn't experience any loud noises or anything along those lines. It was very relaxing, I felt amazing walking out of there. The facility is very clean and the float pods seem to be very well taken care of. The showers are stocked with the products you use before and after the float and plenty of towels are provided for you. The staff is really kind and helpful! They don't push packages on you or make you feel like you HAVE to purchase anything. I definitely plan on going back and making this my main float location! read more

I found True Float Rest Spa from an IG follower's experience. Went on Groupon and was able to find a new client pricing, so I decided to give it a try! I have to say that watching the video which was provided during my visit, gave me a much better understanding of how this type of spa is supposed to operate. Being able to float in 10" of water is a pretty cool thing! At first, it felt weird being enclosed in a pod, but after 10 minutes or so, I was able to completely shut my mind off of all worries and thoughts. Used a Groupon for an hour float session (doesn't cover tax oddly which was a bit less than 4 bucks I had to pay separately). Very friendly professional staff. Clean, beautiful interior with relaxing oasis room for post float r&r with oxygen bar that is not free and is now closed due to CoVid. Informative video beforehand. Beautiful large personal room with pod. One hour flew by and I left very relaxed. I won't do it again although I'm glad I tried it simply because I can't disconnect from my insulin pump for an hour at a time and I don't trust anything to be able to keep it from the corrosive magnesium sulfate water in the pods. I am not a spa person! I have trouble relaxing! I have never found a great avenue to release tension...until I visited True Rest Float Spa. I tried it on a whim. I've always enjoyed water and floating. What I ended up with with the most relaxing thing I've ever done in my life! When you check in you're taken to your private room where you shower (they provide the products) and then you climb into your pod. I prefer to have no light and only spa music during the first ten and last five minute. For the remaining 45 minute of the float I just relax, usually falling asleep. When the hour is over, I emerge calm and relaxed. After taking a hot shower I retreat to the oxygen bar to finish off my experience. After one trip to True Rest Float Spa I was hooked! Visiting True Rest has become part of my self care regimen! You're my first visit back in September 2018, I decided to become a member and haven't looked back! You can accumulate prepaid floats, use them as often or as little as you like, share them with friends or family, and pause the monthly auto charge if you like. The place is clean, peaceful, modern decor and the staff are helpful and welcoming. You're given clean sandals in your shoe size. You are then given the option of music, no music, or you can plug in your phone to the auxiliary port and play your own music in the tank. You also have the option of having the lights on or turning them off with the touch of a button in the tank. Is also an intercom inside the tank, in case you need to communicate with the receptionist. I have not used it, but my boyfriend did one time when it was playing the spa music instead of his auxiliary and they fixed it immediately without him having to get out and get dressed. That is a nice feature, other floats spas that I've been to haven't had any of those options inside the tank. You're shown to a private room, that has the tank and a shower, and also provided towels and waterproof earplugs. The experience itself, well it's very relaxing. Once you get settled in and stop floating around bumping into the walls. You feel weightless and you have the sense of floating in air. Sometimes I forget I'm in there, and go off in this meditative sort of state. Other times, it takes me a little bit longer to relax. I noticed them more often and regular I go, the easier it is to drop into relaxation. I've had best results when I go weekly, but my budget doesn't always allow it. After your session is done, the lights in the tank come on, and the music (if you didn't have it on) comes on, signaling that your session is ended. Thats when it's time to exit the tank, shower. They have a prep area with cotton balls, q tips, hair dryers, and lotion. After that is a chill out room with hot tea from Tea Lab, water, and the Oxygen Bar! The tea flavors are always delicious and different, and there are several flavors of oxygen to choose from as well!!!! I love coming here and always find it super relaxing! I stopped in to redeem a Groupon. They have a great process down to orient people to the space. There is a 12 minute intro video for new people to view. You then get 60 minutes in the pod. You get 5 minutes to put in ear plugs and shower before hand. Then the pod plays 10 minutes of music, goes silent for 45 minutes, and then plays music for the final 5 minutes so you know your time is coming to an end. The room was very quiet and relaxing. Whether you leave the pod lid open or closed you can enjoy a dark and quiet relaxing experience. It was super easy to float. You can leave a colored light on inside the pod or turn it off and there is an intercom in the pod to the front desk in case you have questions or need help. The water isn't hot, but heated so you aren't cold just lying there. With the pod door closed I actually felt it became a little warm like a sauna so I propped the lid open half way through. If you're looking for a nice meditation opportunity with maybe a side of some other benefits check it out. You might want to bring your own water proof headphones or something as I found it got a little boring towards the end. read more

True Rest Float Spa is a clean, quite, and relaxing experience. I walked by True Rest while waiting for some prints at the UPS store next door and made an impromptu appointment for the next day. Floating is fairly new in Cleveland and a bit trendy, but the attendants were more than willing to answer questions and explain the entire process. They have several float pods and two oxygen therapy machines. On your first visit, you'll need to arrive half an hour early to fill out a waiver, dress down to a robe and slippers (provided for the duration of your stay), and watch a 5 minute educational video about floating. They'll provide you with some petroleum jelly (to cover any cuts, shaves, or scratches that might be irritated by the salt water) and earplugs before leading you to a private room with a shower and an isolation pod. They give you about 5 minutes to get in to the pod, then your time begins (minimum of 60 minutes). By default, the pod will play calming music for 10 minutes, then total silence, followed by music again for the last 5 minutes to let you know you should be ready to get out. You have the option to use the default, play music for the entire float, silence for the whole float, or plug in your phone for your own music. You may also choose to experience ambient lighting or total darkness. To get the full experience, I opted for the default music and total darkness. Afterwards, there is a restroom, an area with hairdryers to get back to looking your best, and a lounge with herbal tea. Note they do not provide brushes, so you may need your own comb or brush. If this is your first visit, you also have the option of experiencing their oxygen bar for 10 minutes for free. The oxygen bar has several flavors, I opted for the lime flavor. I personally didn't notice a significant difference from the oxygen bar other than ease of breath, but some people swear by it. Overall if you want to try floating or an oxygen bar this is definitely a great, clean, nice place to do it in Cleveland. read more

Absolutely awesome experience. The staff were so friendly and helpful with all the questions I had as a first time floater. The spa was clean and well maintained and they had instructions posted on the wall in case you forgot the steps. There's a personal shower in your room with shampoo, conditioner, soap, and towels for your body and face. They also have a little prep area where you can blow dry your hair or do your makeup afterwards. After my session I felt very relaxed and spent my time at the oxygen bar and tried the sugar cookie one which was really good. My skin felt noticeably different afterwards and I would definitely go back again to keep seeing the results. I received a gift card for two treatments for Valentine's Day. Overall, I enjoyed my experience in the pod itself. It was relaxing and the water was warm. I left the pod feeling like my skin was softer. The staff were attentive and offered tea/water. However, I feel that if you are here for a relaxing experience, it should be so from beginning to end. Watching the introduction video with two other people was fine, but being taken back to your room as a group was a little awkward. We all gathered in a room for more instructions, which felt like I was invading their personal space because it ended up being someone in our group's room. After the hour in the pod, there is a shower to wash the salt off. The water was not very hot but the soap and shampoo smelled good. Once showered and dressed, outside of your room are two restrooms and beyond the restrooms is a "prep" area with two hairdryers. But, once again, that seemed awkward - the prep area was in the walkway from the relaxation room to the restroom/pod area, so there's no privacy. In fact, as I was combing my hair, another group of people were going back to their rooms. And there's no separation between the prep and the relaxation areas so I didn't want to turn a hairdryer on to bother others. (The restrooms do not have a plug in there, so that is not an option either.) This part really bothered me, as most "spas" have a dressing area that is private. I now know what to expect in the future and will just plan on going home with wet hair, rather than getting ready to run errands or go to dinner afterward. First and last time here. I was given a session by my daughter for Father's day. I was relaxing and floating in the dark when suddenly the cleaning jets turned on and shot chemicals into my nose, eyes and throat. It burned my esophagus and eyes, and my sinuses are very injured. The lady up front said this has happened before, and it must have been a timing glitch. I suggested that they take the cleaning jets offline until they see the customers come out, to maintain safety. She told me that she's not allowed too. STAY SAFE...DO NOT GO HERE. It ruined a great gift from my daughter and now has my inside burned with cleaning chemicals. read more

My gf and I recently had our first ever float spa at True Rest and we really enjoyed it. The facility was very clean and the decor was beautiful. Once we arrived for our appointment, we were taken to a room to view a float instructional video. By the time the video ended, we were excited to get started. Each float tub is in individual private rooms that include a private shower for before and after your float. The tubs themselves are very nice and have the ability to completely close you inside. I am somewhat claustrophobic but it wasn't an issue since they are big enough to fit me inside (I'm 6'1) with room to fully stretch out. You lay down on your back in the tub. The Epsom salt water is warm and filled to about chest height. I was suspended in the water completely. After our sessions ended, we spent about five minutes at their "oxygen bar" to wake ourselves back up. Overall, we both enjoyed the experience and had no complaints. The staff was very professional and courteous as well.I could see myself using the Float Spa frequently over the winter when my joints and back get stiff from the constant cold. I can definitely recommend that anyone who is looking for a cool way to meditate or those who have muscular/joint/back problems to give it a try. read more

I took my husband for a float to see if it helped his arthritis. When we arrived we filled out a questionnaire and headed in to watch a video explaining the process. Even watching the video was a very relaxing experience they have lounge chairs that are very comfortable and you're in a dark room with salt lamps. I was a little nervous because I tend to have a little claustrophobia in enclosed spaces. After the video they took us on a tour and explained how the float tank worked you're in a private room and every room has its own shower. I chose to do a traditional float which means music for the first 10 minutes then it's quiet and then gradually the music comes back on at the end.For the first 5 or 10 minutes I was a little anxious but after that I calmed down and enjoyed the float. My husband enjoyed his float too., he said it was very relaxing, I'm not sure how much one float helped with his arthritis but I did notice that the puffiness and stiffness in my hands was gone when I got it out. Afterwards we enjoyed some herbal tea and 10 free minutes at their oxygen bar I didn't really notice that the oxygen did anything, in their advertisement it says that it helps you wake up, and has some other benefits as well ,I could take that or leave it to be honest. They do have a room where you can dry your hair and reapply makeup if you choose to. they provide shampoo and body wash, but no washcloths so bring your own. Your first visit is discounted and it's $49 you can also get that off of Groupon but no need since they honor it there. All in all a good experience that I would do again read more

Although I'm not sure I would return because I don't feel like I benefited from it, I would recommend it to friends and family. My first float about a month ago was great and I would have given it 5 stars, however, my float today was not so good. My mother and I each floated today and had a similarly bad experience. The overhead lights in each room are on motion sensors and should turn off after several minutes after entering the float pod. Having the lights off is an essential part of the sensory deprivation experience. During my first float everything worked perfectly. Today, the overhead lights never turned off in my room. In my mother's room they turned on and off randomly. It really ruined the whole experience. When we told the front desk woman about the lights, she said that many of the rooms have that issue and she has told the owner several times that the motion sensors are not working properly. This is supposed to be a sensory deprivation experience. If the lights don't go off (or continually cycle on and off) then it defeats the purpose. As a side note, my room needed maintenance. The towel ring next to the shower was loose and almost falling off the wall. There was discolored caulk (or something looking like caulk) inside the pod. The paint/drywall in one section of the room was damaged (presumably from all the salt and humidity in the room). Given my experience today, I will not be returning. read more

My room was beautiful and I was given all the instructions I needed. My float was amazing and came out feeling like a million bucks. And I had peach oxygen to top it off. I really enjoy floating. It is a great way to meditate and transcend thought to connect deeply with my true self. The True Rest Float pods are high quality. They are large enough and provide a very dark space which is nice. The float was really good. After the float the staff tried to sell me a membership, which is to be expected. I was considering coming back and buying one, but they became too aggressive in their approach. Two of the staff teamed up, and it began to feel like they were way too thirsty for commission. They weren't respecting my boundaries. All of the relaxation that I had gained in the pod drifted away as they created stress. Their overselling made me feel like I was a dollar not a person, and I felt resistance form. It was not a comfortable experience. After I left I began to realize the unpleasant smell that was on my skin. I had washed very well after the float, but still there was a yucky smell that remained. I am very sensitive to smells. I did not experience this at previous float spas which made me wonder what else is in that water. I will continue to float, because it is a lovely way to purge, but I will not be returning to this spa. read more
