I decided to try and replace my shower cartridge on my own last week. I've become pretty handy. But being that it was 20 years old and very stuck, I spent my whole day off wrestling with it just to have to break off. By then It was 4:00 on a Friday and I started to panic. My wife would be home soon from work and I couldn't turn the water back on until it was fixed. I started calling plumbers just in case. Most weren't answering phones, were out of service, or couldn't get to me until Monday. I tried True Plumbers first and was put on hold. I waited a couple of minutes and no one picked up. So I hung up and called other plumbers. After not getting any good answers, I tried them again. They had one of their plumbers call me. Josh was working on a job in Lakeland, but said he could come out to me that evening. I talked to him about what was going on and what I was doing to fix it. He told me I was on the right track. He encouraged me to keep doing what I was doing (because it was exactly what he would have to do). And for him to do it, I'd have to pay the service fee + parts and labor. Not cheap that time of the day or week. Lucky for me, my wife got home and saw I was totally exhausted and frustrated. She took over trying to get the rest of the cartridge out. Josh told me to check back in with him in the meantime if we needed him. He was still planning on coming later if we couldn't do it. Probably a good hour later, my wife got the rest of it out. Let me tell you we shared a huge high five and there was much cheering in that shower! lol I called Josh back and let him know we did it and he didn't need to come over. But I was so grateful for his advice. Sometimes you just need someone to tell you you're doing it right. If we have any other plumbing issues, I'll call them again for a quote. read more

They charged me around $340 dollars to hook up the fridge water line to the wall. One of the two plumbers was very unprofessional and disrespectful. Had a new fridge put in and the guys who put in the new fridge said they couldn't touch the water line of the old fridge and that the valve from the wall needed to be replaced so that the water line from the new fridge could be connected, and to call plumbers for that. We called them and they arrived an hour earlier than their estimated time range. Long story short, the plumber guy said replacing the valve in the wall wasn't necessary and the hose from the valve could be connected to the new fridge. He said this to me like I was a moron, which I don't know much about plumbing, so I'm probably a moron when it comes to that stuff. But the way he said it and looked at me rubbed me the wrong way. He then puts a fitting thing on the fridge hose and connects it to the valve hose coming from the wall. It takes him maybe a minute to do this. He tells me it's gonna cost $340 or something close to that. I ask why so much for having done so little, he said he had to drive forty minutes and says it like it makes total sense and I'm the idiot for asking such a stupid question. I first would like to thank the guys for coming out later the same day, although it was no rush,... and they fixed the heating element that was a complete fire hazard hidden from me when I bought my home. Which I just bought 2 weeks ago so money isn't overflowing. The only issues I had was the price, it was $555.00 to replace the heating element (a $30 part although they spent 2 hours) and/including a 3% charge ($16.00) using my debt card. I know this is a common practice but had I know I would have gone to the bank. The price was awfully high and although the guys were good and did get my hot water back, I will have to search around next time if I can wait on the issue. read more

I have recommended True Plumbing to neighbors for the last 5 or 6 years based upon they're timely service, good work and very reasonable charges. However, after a recent service call, my recommendation will change completely. I was helping my aunt who was flying from Illinois to clean out her "winter" manufactured home for sale. When the water was turned on, several pin-hole leaks in the PVC line going into the house appeared. Physically, I couldn't fix it; if I could, it was a $15 for parts repair. Since she was coming in two days, I set an appointment for the next day. They arrived and quoted me $660! The repairman said that they had a schedule for repairs that required that much for a repair to a 3/4" PVC repair under a manufactured home. It was two inches "under" the home. I asked what their hourly rate was; it was just over $200. I talked them down to $595 and only agreed because it had to be fixed that day. There was no emergency call charge. It took 15 minutes, took 4 elbows, one straight joint and a small piece of PVC and no one went under the home. I will never use True Plumbing again and I will let my neighboring park residents (458 homes) about my experience. I honestly expected a $150 charge based on my prior experiences with them. 100 stars!!! No joke! I am a newer homeowner and tried to YouTube replacing a bathtub faucet. (Looked simple) well... After cutting the wall and accessing pipes and having waterfalls explode in my laundryroom. I called True Plumbers. Kent responded immediately (like i wasnt even done crying yet) he helped me contain the excitement until he arrived 1 hour later. (Saturday morning no doubt) upon arrival Kent and Chris jumped right into the work all while keeping me calm and repairing the problem. No Lukewarm Service here.... I don't stumble on luck much. I'm the one who drops a quarter into a corner slot machine and the person right behind me does the same and wins the jackpot. That's just me, but it does occasionally happen in life as it did the day after I discovered a major leak under a rug in our spare bedroom. I happened to call True Plumbers, a completely "random" choice after searching the internet for local Plant City plumbers. I knew a leak existed after having saturated three beach towels but really didn't think the ENTIRE process through on how much work would ultimately be entailed to correct the issue (ie. plumber first step, then leak detection, tear up walls, holes bored through our new bathroom vanity...all to remediate the moisture, I understand). My point here - calling True Corp/True Builders was LITERALLY ONE-STOP SHOPPING. I made one call and True Corp did the rest. They immediately coordinated with HydroScout for leak detection (another exceptional company which does water/mold remediation, etc.), their floor staff for the hallway vinyl planking, a carpet company, and they provided us with a truly reasonable quote for entirely new plumbing - which I can proudly say was done last week and it's a LOT more painless than you think...we placed bets with our neighbor the past 12 years on who's copper piping was going to go first...we lost. Actually no, we won because now we don't have to worry about "the day it happens" and I NOW have a terrific plumber to call the next time something happens. And it will happen. If you're on the fence about replacing your plumbing now or later, this might help - our insurance company informed me that sub-flooring pipe leaks aren't covered under insurance, so we would have bared 100% of the expense of this issue. That's all I needed to hear to make the decision. The leak happened 10/10/19 and we MIGHT have our room back in order by 12/24/19. MIGHT. That however, is not anyone's fault but a busy carpet company. I trust and like the company they chose because I used the same for years in a Lakeland hotel I managed. ***** Now for the truly exceptional....despite the slow pace of this process and crappy holiday timing, the staff at True Plumbers are PHENOMENAL. Every single person I've come into contact with have been very service-oriented. I'm familiar with service because I've been in hotel management/hospitality with Hilton and Hyatt for 30 years. I don't know where, or HOW they find caring, kind and conscientious staff so consistently, but they manage to do it (I recruited, hired and trained staff for a new build hotel in Hillsborough and just getting candidates to SHOW UP for the interview was me "winning"). From phone etiquette to face-to-face service, IT ALL MATTERS and this team has been a genuine pleasure for me to speak to, meet, and interact with. Some a-MA-zing team standouts in my mind are (my apologies but I don't have many last names) Emily, Malachi, Chad Kiddy, Andrew Ratliff (HydroScout), Mike, Paul, Corey... and my personal heroes on the re-plumbing side, Malachi again (he left our estimate with a kind note not wanting to wake me up while I was napping on the couch), Zack, Edwin, Chris "Spiderman" (because he has the build to contort his body in our frighteningly tight attic) and Kent. Just to illustrate the level of trust I have in this particular plumbing team, I would trust to give them our garage code and enter the house as needed during the job; all with our 3 dogs and cat inside that are our children. That is trust. These guys couldn't have been nicer, more enjoyable to talk to, and just have around our house for two days (and only ONE DAY without water - they made sure to have the job done and water turned on by end of day 2. Day 1 we had water all day while they dropped pipes). Yes, this review may be a long one but I've spent 30 years in the hotel industry witnessing my staff and I getting our asses reamed by unkind travelers for the most mundane of issues. Sadly, those promising to drop positive reviews can, at times, be outnumbered by deplorable irates looking for compensation simply because they know they can. True Plumbers were outstanding. I had a pipe to burst, flooding my master bath. What a mess. Carey and Brian, with True Plumbers were here within 30 minutes of the call. The ceiling had fallen in, drywall and insulation was everywhere. They removed the wet drywall, cleaned up the insulation, sucked up the water. They installed dehumidifiers, fans, etc. They put a covering over the ceiling that had fallen. The process takes 3 days to dry out. Carey and Brian did an outstanding job. This company has a gold star in customer service. I absolutely would recommend them. I could not be more pleased with the service. I forgot to mention Randall was here within 20 minutes to repair the broken pipe. Once again, outstanding service.6 stars. read more

Honestly we haven't experienced their actual service. I called trying to get an estimate and see when they could come out to replace our kitchen faucet that had broken, spewing water everywhere (until we quickly closed the valves). It's been nearly 48 hours and still no response. We fortunately found another plumber who was able to come and replace the faucet. Won't even bother calling these guys again. read more

Called them in a state of emergency on Sunday, they said they will be here between 2-4pm, no word until after 5pm and after I called many times, and then a call at 515pm to let me know they will be here in an hour. During the waiting time my ceiling got way more damage than it would had they called and at least sat expectations correctly. Needless to say, I will not recommend these guys, they are not reliable and not worth the trouble, call OnDeck Plumbing instead - these guys came as promised and quickly and fixed everything well read more

Called for a quote, when they called back the man acted like I was bothering him, told me it's a lot of work to install the water heater in my house (mind you it's literally their business to do this, but it sounds like it's too much work) then quoted an outrageous price that included equipment I had already told him I purchased. Then dropped the quote some (not before telling me it's probably not the right thing I had purchased- didn't even ask what kind- just that it's probably not right) and when I asked if that was for the emergency service (this happened over a holiday weekend) he said no it's next week. It's sad that a business that is for this type of situation is acting like it's too much work and didn't even quote emergency service just immediately for next week, that living without water for days is fine. I called another plumber and they quoted half the fee and will be out tomorrow afternoon, now that's how you run a business. I would suggest looking elsewhere before calling true plumbers for a quote, you'll get much friendly and better service and a better price. read more

My hot water heater quit working and I had called another company to come out ttyl diagnosis the problem which ended up not being the problem. So after I ordered the recommended part and had it installed the water heater which was not the problem. So I called True Plumbers and Malachi Bollman was so awesome. Diagnosed the problem. Took care of my dog will tank was draining to make sure she couldn't get out of my home. Cut all the lights bank off.. Just went above normal expectations. Never met Malachi in person but he cares about performance and I really think that is a great quality in an employee and I just wanted to make sure y'all are aware he is an asset to the company. read more

Your man took advantage of a young woman, who didn't know, that all she had to do was put a pan under the garbage disposal, as once the water leaked out, you just don't use that side. Called and asked for a simple repair of rebuild outside hose bibs. They said sure we will come out and look at it. They come out and wanted to charge $153 per bib. Total of $306. For a hose bib rebuild which consists of simply unscrewing two bolts and replacing a 10 cent washer. No quote was given over the phone, but we were clear in what needed to be accomplished. The second bolt was seized on only reason I did not DIY it. I suggest you look elsewhere. You can tell a company's "true" nature in how they treat a customer with a simple repair. Not with them anymore...false plumbers it takes several attempts with different people to come and fix a leak in my commode tank....I finally surrender...unreliable job...not fixed at all...what a waste of our money...we end up pouring water every time we use our commode until a relative come to the rescue. We called for assistance with a hot water heater booster pump, but decided to upgrade and install s new hot water heater instead. That was a mistake. The tech had a poor working knowledge of electrical, so we had to call out a friend to sort out the non-working unit they installed! The tech left telling us it was an electrical source issue. In reality, the new unit had a bad thermostat. After TWO DAYS of dealing with it and having OUR FRIEND tell them how to correctly wire the connections, we finally got a nice unit, but it cost a small fortune and was a giant headache. We had 2 outside spigots on our home that were broken and leaking and called these folks to fix them. What did we get? We got their power house AKA Hutch Cooper, what a fantastic guy! He was the epitome of professionalism. He fixed our problems quickly, he was extremely personable, and went above and beyond by helping me carry out some heavy construction debris from a fireplace remod I was doing. He even completely matched the patch color around the spigots to our home. This man gets an A++ rating from us, we will definitely be using True Plumbers again. read more

We needed a plumber called a few in our local area we had a leak under the house one of the main water pipes had busted they all wanted to much money to repipe the house and would not go under the house to repipe instead they wanted to run the pipes thru the attic I could of done that myself and they wanted to charge an extreme amount of money to do it.I talk to a neighbor and they recommended True .we called True and they came out and gave us a estimate and they would repipe going under the house Kevin and Randel did the work like promise those two guys where awesome worked fast and was very nice to talk with I felt like they where friends after they did the work very professional and pleasant to work with I highly recommend this company. Candy in the office was also very good with getting the guys here. If I could give a higher rating with stars they would get a 10 star rating. I tip my hat to the 3 people who help us.
