I came in looking for one of those newfangled "wireless" bike computers. I like to keep a record of all my rides so I can keep track of trail conditions, my stats for the ride and dogs who like to chase bicyclists. (I'll admit encountering a rambunctious canine is a great way to develop a fast sprint !) I purchased one if the Cateye cycling computers which was reasonably priced and has an easy to read display when riding. Now I am monitor my current speed, distance traveled, average speed for the ride, elapsed time and several other features. The computer mount was easy to install as was the sending unit which went onto the fork. I'm very pleased with the computer ! I also had one of the employees show and explain to me the difference in the pedal binding systems. It's a little late in the season for me to invest in a dedicated pedal / shoe system but I'll be back for them come springtime. It won't be that long before I come back though, because I need new cross country ski boots ! Great shop for all you ski and cycle needs !

When we asked that the loose slip of information on the back of the poster be attached to the back of it after being mounted in the frame, the owner said they do that routinely, so not to worry. We even heard her instruct the employee putting the measurements in the computer to include that the slip should be attached to the finished back of the frame. We saw him enter that request, so we were confident they would follow the instructions. Except they didn't include our item, and didn't return it to us, and they still can't find that slip of information, which must have been discarded. Instead, they attached a colorful sticker identifying the shop, and also a sticker about the special glass. We stopped by last week to inquire the status, because we hadn't heard back in over a month. The owner was ever so breezy about how she'd just have a look in the workshop to find the item, as if it was a trivial matter, but after 10 minutes she still hadn't returned, so we left after providing our phone number yet again to an employee. Finally, someone called today to say that the owner found some information for us online and will mail it to us. It's a small printout about the image. It's a nice gesture. It would have been nicer if the owner had expressed her regret for what happened, and if she had given us her assurance that this wouldn't happen again, and if she had explained how it is they included their own material on the back of the poster, but not ours. The employees in the front of the store are particularly pleasant and helpful, so I am surprised the owner wasn't more solicitous. Please think twice about handing this shop any provenance about your artwork. If the owner simply had apologized for the mistake, we might have been inclined to give the shop the benefit of the doubt in the future. But without having received an acknowledgement that they are sorry this happened, we will take our framing elsewhere. We will miss the shop's great selection of unique greeting cards, but feel we should shift our shopping elsewhere.

No prices on sample upholstery books, an order has to be written up to get this information and often shocking when you do. Insane. Their sale room has great fabric including upholstery for a very reasonable price. Sewing machines of European and others unknown to me are exceedingly expensive. Some of the staff are very helpful.

We picked up a solid oak changing table for about a hundred bucks, no particle wood. Our best find was a solid ash bunk bed set made in Vermont. We dithered because it was $330, and we're not rolling in cash, but finally we took it. After we got home, we googled the company out of curiosity and found out it retailed new for over $3000! It's a very, very nice piece of furniture that will be able to withstand generations of monkey kids climbing all over it. I wish we could find bookshelves, but the proprietor said that it's rare to get them in, most people keep them, and they sell very quickly. We've also been looking for a good, large dresser for some time, but what they get is either junky or overly expensive for what you get. I believe that the consignee sets their own price, but sometimes it's really crazy what they want. It's not Antiques Roadshow, people.

I furnished my little house with many finds from this shop. But times have changed. Nowadays, the shop is dirty and disorganized. Their filthy upholstered furniture is unsanitary and not fit to be sold. Wooden furniture is pitiful and cheaply made. Not worth refinishing. Maybe you'll find a plate or picture that you could settle for, but there are several other places in the area where you can actually enjoy hunting for bargains. The owners need to clean their store and discard the junk. Until then, I won't be back.
