I went in today to…read morespend $4,000-$5,000 on furniture locally to support small business and he was extremely upset people keep asking to buy his floor display models. I inadvertently made the mistake of apparently being the 100th person to do so in an attempt to help them during what I thought were challenging times. I completely understand I perhaps foolishly assumed all local businesses have been struggling. He and his nephew made it abundantly clear he doesn't have furniture in stock and you have to order. ETAs are this summer at best, but the companies they buy from only give him a 1 month at a time window with no guarantees. After he was done yelling at me, I said that I should post a review of my experience and he said "Please do", so here it is. If I hadnt been yelled at, I would have ordered and waited, as I have bought all my furniture there over the years. If you need something, do not offer to buy a floor model to help them out. They have plenty of money and don't need the business.

However, this store has a very limited selection of food and is mainly miscellaneous junky merchandise. On the food items watch the prices. Some are the same and others more than at Market Basket. Staff are pleasant, the restroom is clean, and they allow you to try clothing on in there, though the light is so dim you can't see well. For me it was not worth the drive from an adjoining state.

The staff was super attentive, carefully measuring my child's feet and ensuring the fit was perfect--with just enough room to grow but not too much. I had a plane to catch, so I breezed into the store (after taking a rainy photo for Yelp) and looked around for women's shoes. My initial scan showed me a handsome "older gent" (egads, maybe 55?) was leaning on his forearms against one of the shelves. The Marlboro Cowboy with a Sam Elliot on his upper lip, eyed me. (Inside, I thought, "hm, maybe he's wondering what a woman is doing in a store that sells workboots?") Then he said, "Can I help you with something?" And yes, yes, he could! He actually paid attention to what I said (black only, no copper rivets) and I chose two pairs of shoes in the space of four minutes ($59 and $89). When he moved around behind the cash register to ring me up, his colleagues (two other gents sans fancy facial hair) asked me, "How'd he do?" to which I responded with a shoulder shrug and a "meh" keeping in tradition with the reserve of New Hampshah. The gents smiled and mustache said, "they are trying to get rid of me because I'm too old." To this I replied, "they are just jealous because they can't grow a mustache like yours." (Heck, I'm a woman and I'm jealous!) Love the shoes. Love the stache. I'll be back next time I'm driving a pumpkin. And maybe... it'll be happily ever after.

The last time that I came into this store I bought a pair of work boots and I have to say that I wasn't disappointed. The money that I spent on them was well worth the quality I got. This store often has the best selection of footwear in the area, and their clearance shelves are always packed with items. The other great thing about this store is the fact that they have a ton of larger sizes. I have to shop for a size 14/15 shoe, and I have never had any issue finding something here. The only downside to this store is the fact that some of their boots are a bit overpriced, but if you keep an eye on their sales as well as their clearance section, you will not be disappointed by the product you get.

There was NO WAY I was going to have a fitting with a teen boy in the room. I thought to make an appt and perhaps have privacy but the owner has no clue how uncomfortable the situation is. A reality check is in order. I realize it is summer but that young man's presence was an absolute deal breaker. Why isn't he out goofing with his friends instead of hanging with mom at the bra store? And so I walked into town and found Underneath It All, which is a lingerie shop of the same quality and scope as my favorite, The Towne Shoppe, in NY! The owner worked with me for over an hour, helping me figure out my new size, and figure out a selection of gorgeous, comfortable bras for different uses (two t-shirt, two lower cut lace bras, etc.).
