The first time, Michael was incredibly patient as he walked me through the purchasing process in the US as I wasn't familiar with it, being from Canada originally. He answered every question in detail and then, during the actual mortgage application and approval, he kept me up to date during each step. With my current purchase, the experience was the same. Great explanations, lots of followup. He sent updates as soon as events happened (sometimes late at night) and I don't think I waited more than an hour for responses during daylight hours. And then, today, when the escrow company royally screwed up the documents required by the sender, Michael was on the phone with me, the lender, and the escrow company, pushing both of them to sort the situation out so that the funds could still be sent and the purchased closed on schedule. He and his staff ensured that the lender and escrow company were engaged the entire time and not sitting on their hands waiting for the other. What could have been extremely stressful and potentially a delay for the closing ended up being a small road bump in the process. Later it appeared to be the best rate I could have had during the last six months. Dan uses special and expensive software which gives real-time alerts for constantly changing mortgage rates and can provide the best rates to his clients. I decided to move on with Dan and it was the best decision I could make. Dan's team works like a clock. He provides a step-by-step plan with the schedule, so that you know what to expect in advance. Every commitment that his team gave (like document delivery or loan submission) was delivered strictly on the scheduled day. Dan's team uses online software for document upload and filling. It is not ideal but simple and convenient. As a first-time buyer, I had a lot of questions during the process, and Dan was always happy to address all of them.
