This is her year and a half after she was attacked by two dogs Dr. Groemminger saved her life

Dr.Groemminger saved my Zoey's life That's just one of the amazing things that True Companion, Veterinarian Care has done for my fur babies. The staff is amazing and helpful.

Sophie on my bed under the soft rose covers.

On October 16th 2025 , i found that Sophie had a broken leg and injuries after a car accident. Sophie is my 12 year old Yorkshire terrier that i had since middle school, I'm in my third year of college. She had been a consistent, loving companion for me all my life. She made life more brighter every time i was with her . Especially the moments when I get back home to her, her greetings is what made me smile. More over, she was my one and only dog, so losing her broke me into Pieces. So, under panic that day I found that true companion vet was the only one available for emergency care. PLEASE LOOK UP, the reviews before anything. Little did I know I was going to face more tragedy than needed. At True companions I did receive well care consulting, ensuring Sophie had oxygen , and discussing the next action. Unfortunately, I had decided to put Sophie down, it felt unreal. I got to say goodbye and held her in my arms. After, they had discussed which urn I would like for her, so I pick one and write it on the order paper. A week passes, I get a call from true companions that her paw print is ready. On said call I questioned about her urn, Michelle (front desk clerk) said that we can discuss it once I arrived. At true companions , I am welcomed to Michele and she started to talk to me and then lead to "I'm so sorry" . She made the mistake of not ordering an urn for my baby Sophie and thus the last of my first companions remains is lost to the void. So she kept saying her sorries and refunded me money. At the moment I didn't want to believe it but after I left the waves of rage and sorrow consume me. Since I had lost Sophie twice... Conclusion: look at the reviews, find a trusted vet care, and keep on loving your pets.

I initially placed a review without pictures of my baby that she killed. I placed the pictures of my baby simply because every single time someone from this place pulls it up, they will see her. I know that there are quite a few of us with almost the same exact incident. Yes, now this company is being investigated by the Texas Veterinarian Board. If there are some individuals that this has also happened to, I honestly would recommend getting in touch with the board

Dr. G took such good care of my sweet Sophie that was going into heart failure. Everyone was so compassionate and cared so much! The technicians are wonderful!

Such an amazing animal hospital. My cat Max became very I'll and needed immediate attention at 10pm. I called around and True Companion was the only one willing to see him immediately. We discovered he had a huge hair ball blocking his intestines. They were able to get it to pass within a few days without surgery. They took such great care of Max and they were able to give his panicked Momma updates every time I called. I am truly great full for the whole staff. Thank you guys for saving my baby Max!

    My dog

I bring all of my family pets here for wellness and urgent care. My dog was vomiting nonstop and I brought her in and although there were many other patients there, they took very good care of my dog and explained everything thoroughly. The vet tech and Dr. G are amazing with all of my pets and I am very pleased with the care given! Thank you TCVC!

I rushed him to the ER, and thankfully there weren't many patients ahead of us; we were seen within about 20 minutes. The facility was clean, calm, and welcoming, which really helped ease my nerves. The staff was incredibly friendly, and you could truly tell they cared by the thoughtful questions they asked and their gentle, compassionate demeanor with my pup. He needed X-rays, and while the results took a bit longer, the process was thorough and reassuring. Overall, we were there for about two hours, and the best news of all: my pup is perfectly okay and didn't swallow any foil. They even called me the next day to check in on him. Not something I expected, but that extra touch really shows their genuine care for the animals they serve. If you ever find yourself in a scary situation with your furry loved one, I would absolutely recommend this pet ER. Caring, professional, and worth every minute for peace of mind.

I eventually left and went to a different ER vet where my pet was helped within an hour. I understand that my pet's condition may not have been considered as critical as others, but the communication and wait time were unacceptable. Like another review mentioned, "A pet could've died." Safe to say I will never be bringing my pet here again.

The staff was tremendously compassionate, helpful and comforting to me as I faced my dog's final day. I was referred to VEG by my dog's vet. We arrived to continue her care after her vet closed for the day. As soon as I walked in carrying my blanket covered baby, they led me into their open concept care area. There were maybe a dozen or so examination tables and several kennels along the walls and there's also, I think, two surgery rooms and a couple of dimly lit rooms for saying goodbye. Clients see what's going on with every pet at the different examination tables. Sadly I witnessed a dog die after the staff tried giving it chest compressions for what felt like forever. They really seemed to try and give it their all. It was the saddest thing to witness, especially knowing my dog was likely headed in that same direction. I lost it and cried. One of the many bouts of tears I had that day. Unlike the exam tables, the surgery and goodbye rooms are private. Dr. Burbano and staff examined my dog to see if there was anything they could do and they gave me my options and the corresponding prices. The price went up the longer they cared for my dog. I could leave her there for 24 hours, 12, 8, 4 etc and I could stay with her the whole time. I could tell there wouldn't be any progress if I left her there longer so I ended up leaving her for 8-10 hrs, enough time for progress to hopefully be made but not so long as to avoid the inevitable and to have an unnecessarily high bill. After hours on the exam table they moved her to a kennel. From the kennel she was moved to a dimly lit room where I held her in my arms for hours and said my goodbyes as she was hooked up to an IV. While in the room, a staff member went over end of life options with me, private or group cremation, different urns etc. Paying for everything was very convenient. They texted me the itemized pricing for both my dog's car and end of life options and you pay from your phone, never having to leave your pet's side. My dog's cremated remains and end of life items where delivered to my home I believe a week or two later. The postal worker ( not a VEG employee) was also kind and compassionate during the delivery. I loved how caring the VEG staff was, how well they explained everything, and that they were very understanding and didn't rush me at all. I greatly appreciate my dog's veterinarian referring me to VEG and I would highly recommend them to anyone experiencing a pet emergency or saying goodbye to their precious furry one.

I brought our dog Ramsey in at 8am as he had suddenly been vomiting overnight, panting heavily, walking kind of wobbly and eventually could barely stand up on his own. As soon as I carried him in, the receptionist saw the urgency and called the entire team to attend to him. They immediately took him to the examination table and started running their tests. Dr. Cara Taylor pulled me to the side and unfortunately informed me that she believed a hidden tumor on his spleen had ruptured and he was leaking blood into his stomach, and she basically believed it to be a case of hemangiosarcoma and that his outlook wasn't good based on her experience. She gave me the news quite confidently and professionally which I really appreciated even though it was the most heartbreaking thing to hear. The team of 3-4 techs/vets proceeded to perform X-rays and draw his blood in order to inject it back into him to keep him stabilized. My wife eventually came and we were presented with the decision of surgery to remove his spleen. Dr. Taylor was very honest and open about the financial cost and the multiple outcomes that could occur and the probability of each happening. She made it clear that even if the surgery was successful it may only buy him a few more months depending on the severity of the cancer spread. She informed us that the tumor could even be benign, but did not mislead us in any way and said it would maybe be 10-20% chance of that happening. She also made sure we understood that there was even a high chance that due to his instability that he could even bleed out, or if mid-surgery she sees that the cancer has spread too far, that they would advise us that they would likely discontinue the process because at that point, it'd be too late to save him. She made us feel very comfortable that whatever we decided to do was absolutely reasonable and understandable given the situation, and never once pressured us into one way or the other. We made the call to proceed with the surgery knowing his odds were low and the financial cost was high, because we wanted to give our baby boy a chance to pull through with no regrets. Because it was such a sudden unexpected event, we were not prepared to say goodbye that day and wanted to bring him home, even with a shortened timeline after. Each step of the way, the staff made us feel so very comfortable, with compassion and attentiveness, offering us space for us to keep physical contact with our boy, kept him warm with blankets, cleaned up his messes that he made under stress and medication assuring us that it's no big deal and promptly cleaned it up. They treated Ramsey as if he were their own pet and we really felt like they truly cared and were doing all they could to comfort and save him. Unfortunately, after all was said and done, his heart could not endure the surgery and stopped beating, and attempts to resuscitate him were not successful. They led us to the private room and took the time to patch him back up so that we could say our goodbyes. They let us take all the time we need as we had a few friends and family nearby come say goodbye as well. We discussed the itemized bill, adjusted for procedures and meds that were not performed since Ramsey didn't make it that far, and they explained the cremation options thoroughly. And they made sure to inform us of the multiple payment options and third party plans as well. At the end of the day, it was the worst day of our lives, but the incredible staff made it the best experience that it could be for us. The entire team was extremely attentive and we knew they were doing all that they could, because we were there in person to witness first hand every procedure with our own eyes and ears, staying within Ramsey's sight and talking to him and petting him to provide comfort. Unfortunately I did not grab everyone's names, but special shoutout to Dr. Taylor and Elise. Elise even shed tears with us, that's how much she cared. Another vet with a bit of green in her hair, she was also amazing. She personally kept air flowing to his mouth and had his head elevated with her own arms, it was very endearing. Thank you team VEG for all that you did. The outcome was devastating, but you helped make us feel very content that we did the right thing, and nurtured us every step of the way. We are still grieving tremendously but we couldn't have asked for a better team to be by Ramsey's side on his last day before crossing the rainbow bridge.

She was hypothermic, had dangerously low blood pressure, severe hemorrhagic diarrhea, and required immediate critical care. From the moment we walked through the doors, the doctors and vet techs moved quickly, confidently, and compassionately to save her life. Every single person we encountered treated Arabella like she was their own. The doctors were incredibly thorough and transparent throughout the entire process. They explained her bloodwork, ultrasound results, medications, treatment plan, and prognosis in a way that was honest, compassionate, and easy to understand during an extremely emotional situation. The veterinary technicians were absolutely amazing. They hand-fed her, kept her comfortable and clean, monitored her constantly, and gave us updates that brought so much comfort during one of the scariest nights of our lives. The little sombrero photos they sent after her first overnight stay perfectly captured the level of love and care they gave her. Even while critically ill, they still saw her personality and treated her with so much dignity and kindness. What stood out most was that we never felt judged, pressured, or dismissed while navigating incredibly difficult medical and financial decisions. The staff was compassionate, realistic, patient, and deeply caring every step of the way. Because of the skill, quick intervention, and dedication of this team, Arabella got to come home. When we discovered that our nine-year-old spaniel was bleeding from her mouth, we monitored her for an hour or so to see if it subsided. After all, it was a Sunday and our regular vet wasn't open. When the bleeding continued, with it occasionally being pretty significant, I jumped on my vet's website to see what emergency clinics they recommend. Emergency Pet Care of Texas was one of two listed, and since I'd had an extremely negative experience with the one that is actually closer to me, I made the nearly 40-minute drive up to Magnolia to have her checked out. Sign in was smooth and not overly detailed (not asking a lot of what I deem as unnecessary questions). Wait time was minimal. Tech tended to her relatively quickly, and by this time much of the bleeding had subsided greatly. Still wanted her to see a vet, which she did shortly. Vet was thorough and didn't recommend any additional testing or examination because by the time she saw the vet, all bleeding had stopped. If it had not, it would have indicated something more severe: rat poison or sago palm ingestion, for example. But since that did not appear to be the case, we were instructed to watch her, keep her quiet with minimal exercise and see our regular vet the next day when they were open if the bleeding began again. I appreciate that EPCT was not overly aggressive in trying to treat what turned out to be a minor nick on her gum line that apparently caused the bleeding (mouth bleeds can be pretty traumatic initially, I was told, but they do subside within an hour or two if it's nothing serious). Other emergency vet clinics usually jump on "needed testing" which results in sometimes exorbitant charges that prove nothing at all (I'm speaking from experience). The techs and the vet calmed my fears, assessed my dog for potential dire conditions and sent us on our way. Easy to locate, ample parking, nice waiting area, friendly attendants, techs and vet experience. Charges were extremely fair. Wait time for us was short, but understand they do triage incoming cases so wait times can be extended due to severity of emergency. Definitely recommended, since they only treat emergency cases (rather than continuing, routine care of pets), so they are clearly prepped for that. While it was a drive to get here from where we live, it was worth it knowing I wouldn't need to cash in my 401(k) for my dog to be seen on a Sunday.

They immediately try to schedule an appt for a "consultation" and tell you you HAVE to pay a $50 deposit for this great honor, apparently. I told her before I commit to an appt I'm trying to see between them, blue pearl, and other facilities that are through our rescue network. She said verbatim "legally I cannot disclose pricing that's a conversation after you pay your deposit and have the consultation with your doctor". What? Are you kidding me? This tells me a few things, their pricing is astronomical and they try to lock you into surgery or lose your deposit. And they can't be trusted. If you have this shroud of secrecy around a range of pricing, then you aren't who I want to consider doing business with. These people have gotten too big for their britches. I'm looking elsewhere.
