I live in the Houston Museum District and have always used a vet clinic in the Rice Village and…read morealways paid 3 times more for routine yearly vaccinations and pet meds. Recently my 16 year old Schnauzer had a nose bleed that my local vet clinic charged me a 500 dollar visit fee and wanted to charge 1600 dollars to do an Xray to confirm that he had a nasal tumor. Knowing that if this was the case and if it was confirmed that it was a nasal tumor my plan would be to keep my dog comfortable until we both knew it was his time to go. I decided to get a second opinion and chose this vet. I found all of the staff very friendly and honest. I found the Dr. to be very informed and honest and did not feel me full of false promises. The best case scenario was that my dog had an abscess tooth which she throughly checked and it was not the case. Knowing that I was faced with making the most difficult decision in my adult life I knew my dog would have a slow painful death with a constant nose bleed so I followed her advice and laid him to rest. I know now this was the best decision I could have made. The entire staff made this process so seamless. They also had his ashes packaged in a very nice mahogany urn along with a paw print with his name. All of this was at a fraction of the cost I would have paid in the Rice Village. It may be at least a 45 minute drive but I am willing to make the drive to not get ripped off just because of the real estate. The picture in of the Schnauzer in the reviews is my last photo of The Great Gatsby that was one of the most precious life companions I could of ever had.

I rushed him to the ER, and thankfully there weren't many patients ahead of us; we were seen within about 20 minutes. The facility was clean, calm, and welcoming, which really helped ease my nerves. The staff was incredibly friendly, and you could truly tell they cared by the thoughtful questions they asked and their gentle, compassionate demeanor with my pup. He needed X-rays, and while the results took a bit longer, the process was thorough and reassuring. Overall, we were there for about two hours, and the best news of all: my pup is perfectly okay and didn't swallow any foil. They even called me the next day to check in on him.
