I can't tell you how grateful I am for this clinic and their team. My dog of 14 years was recently diagnosed with bone cancer in her head, and it metastasized into her lungs. We wanted desperately to let her pass comfortably in her home. Unfortunately, her pain was too severe, and we had to make the horrible decision to put her down. We headed up to the Urgent Care facility and were met by Ethan. He took us to a room in the back of the clinic that was set up much like a living room. The room was so comfortable that Mona seemed to relax right away. The team was so kind and so comforting to us. They stated numerous times that we could take a long as we needed to say goodbye, and they truly meant it. Our sincerest thank you to Ethan, Dr. Grissom, and Jazmyn for your absolutely perfect words and tenderness to our family. We will always appreciate what you did for us.

This is the most difficult review I've ever had to write. I had to put my beloved cat, Frenchie, down Friday (December 23, 2022) evening. She lost the use of her back legs within seconds of being fine. I scooped her up immediately and started looking for the nearest pet ER. I was completely unprepared for what was to come. I called the ER and was asked to reserve a time slot online, so I did. My cat was crying so much, I decided to drive over and see if they could see us early. They were able to squeeze her in, thank goodness! The facility was very clean, smelled nice and it was quiet. The technician who first assisted us was very calm and kind. She kept talking to Frenchie and calling her "Friend". Each room had a speaker with soft music playing and a pheromone diffuser plugged into the wall. Dr. Smith (female) was our vet that evening. She listened to my girl's heart and calmly spoke to me about what had happened. Frenchie had a blood clot and it caused the blood to be restricted to her back legs. At the time, I couldn't hear much of what Dr. Smith was trying to say because I was so upset, but I will never forget her calm demeanor. She did not offer a treatment plan, because there was nothing that could be done. They asked if I wanted to be present for the euthanasia. I absolutely wanted to be present, so they took Frenchie in the treatment room to place the IV catheter. They took me out of the exam room and into a room with a couch and single chair. The lighting came from a table lamp, no harsh overhead florescent lights above. The rooms was quiet with soft music playing in the background. They had a snack shelf with Cheez Whiz, Hershey Kisses, dog treats and other items to give your baby as they slip off to cross the Rainbow Bridge. I thought that was a really nice touch. The room had boxes of tissue for use. Dr. Smith and her technician came into the room and placed Frenchie in my arms. She asked if I wanted some time with her alone, but I knew my baby was in too much pain, so I asked her to proceed. My sweet girl drifted off and was no longer in pain. I give UrgentVet 5 starts because of how they handled the situation. My Frenchie was 18-1/2 years old. I found her in a sewer at 10-14 days old, she had to be bottled fed, so I truly became her mama. We went through so much in our 18-1/2 years together, and though that means nothing to anyone reading this review, it meant the world to me that I was given the quiet and peaceful space with her during our last minutes together. Dr. Smith's calm nature made this experience so much easier. In moments like this when you are losing a family member, you want a place like UrgentVet. Not that money was a factor at all in this situation, but pricing can sometimes be a deciding point for people. My final bill was $364.00 that evening. That included the appointment, doctor exam, euthanasia and cremation; I chose communal. I used to be a vet tech, so I am well aware of what things cost in the animal world. I thought their prices were lower than I have seen with previous pets. I think they have options for payment plans and/or a care credit for financial assistance, if needed. Dr. Smith, thank you. I am still so broken hearted, but your calm soft tones made this easier for me during that awful night. Your facility is nice and I appreciated the atmosphere. I love you, my Frenchie. Rest easy, my sweet girl =^..^= (No pictures taken during my visit, but I added some of my girl from over the years. I usually like to showcase my reviews with photos, but it wasn't possible for this time. My prayers to anyone who has gone or is going to go through this.)

I couldn't get my dog into his usual vet, so I booked an appointment here online. Really simple website, and even easier to check in! The place is really clean on entry and the check in booths are as you walk in the door! Vicky was the vet assistant who took care of us!! She was super sweet with my dog and was really gentle around his infected ear when she was cleaning it out! She also made sure he had plenty cheese on his lick pad while he was being looked over. They gave us a treatment plan until we get in our usual vet next week. Can't recommend enough. Easy to book online, clean and really friendly helpful staff.

My sis recommended this vet hospital, as they performed surgery on her 10-year-old pittie, and she was beyond pleased with the care. Tex visited this hospital just a handful of times in his final year. He mostly saw Dr. Alyssa Rahaim, and I really liked her bedside manner with us, her advice, and how easy she was to reach by email or phone (especially in his final days when I wasn't sure if it was time to put him down. She called me while she was on vacation.). Additional pros: The facility has a very friendly staff, short wait times, onsite pharmacy... I think they also do boarding and grooming (in a separate building up front). Two things I wish for: :: If they did house calls/mobile visits, because it was very difficult to get my 14-year-old lab out of the house, into a car, and into the vet every six months for his labs. :: Or, if they could reserve some front parking or the loading zone with a sign that specifies it's for loading/unloading elderly dogs or disabled dogs, and of course for emergencies (which I assume that's what it's mainly used for), but I've witnessed that loading zone fill up with people too lazy to park in the lot and walk inside. But to end this review on an uplifting note, when Tex did pass (I used a mobile service from a different provider), Cypress Fairhaven Animal Hospital sent me the loveliest sympathy card that was hand signed - with sweet messages - from their entire staff. Tex was only a patient there for a short while, yet they treated him as though he was a lifelong patient.

Still, they had some tartar build-up and breath was getting a little "doggy". BTW - their daily diet is dry kibble daily and a green dental stick every week. Treats are hard biscuits, raw veggies, doggie popsicles, antler splits, and moose palms. So, I scheduled them for the cleaning service. I was a bit concerned that the pet owner was not allowed behind the door to even see the treatment area. However, both dogs came out with shinier teeth, mostly free of tartar and plaque. Best of all, neither dog acted traumatized at all. It has now been several months and the effects have lasted quite well. I would do it again but not every 6 months that they suggest! I conditionally recommend them for a cleaning here IF the dog does not have gum disease or major tartar/plaque issues. IF your dog does have either of these problems, IMHO, it needs an actual Vet for therapeutic treatment to keep the infection from affecting the heart, liver, kidneys, etc. It will live longer and have a much better quality of life. You should expect that the cleaning will be more cosmetic than therapeutic due to pain limitations. Their method and the results make sense because, no matter how "mellow" and "zen" they are, put yourself in your dog's place. Imagine, you are the client and the tech comes at you with a sharp metal instrument or water pick and you quickly feel how painful it is. Would you sit there and let them keep poking at your gums? Nope, no way. That's why a dog may need general anesthesia. Just like when we humans get our teeth cleaned it can hurt. But, it is not good form for us to start writhing around in the dental chair, growling, snapping, or peeing on the hygienist. LOL Am still curious about how they keep the dogs mellow and zen during the cleaning. Both my dogs are wiggly. I think they must be restrained somehow (maybe swaddle or papoose wrapped?) or be held by another tech or something. Why is it so expensive? Their corporate website shows multiple locations in Florida. The Florida stores were literally half the cost of Texas locations. I called their customer support line and learned that Texas law requires that a veterinarian must be physically present when even non-anesthetic cleanings are performed. . . . I'll keep my opinions on that Texas law to myself. Tips: #1 Let H.S. know you want mouth photos from both the left and the right sides on the after-treatment report. If they are not able to give the report and say they will email it; keep reminding them if it does not hit your Inbox within a couple of days. #2 Verify that the final bill matches the amount you expected to pay. There was much confusion about how much I actually owed but we worked it out. Here's why. I had recently adopted a rescue dog with terrible teeth. So scheduled a consult visit with Healthy Smiles to learn if he was an even a candidate for their cleaning. I cancelled the appt after his post-adoption exam with our vet. My vet said that, yes, he needed an FME (full mouth extractions) and reconstructive surgery. So I cancelled his H.S. appt with appropriate notice so I could get the deposit refunded or credited for my other dogs' cleanings. The receptionist had difficulty sorting all that out in their billing/appt system. It didn't seem to be user-friendly or intuitively designed.
