My best friend Charli collapsed at home. I called and they had an appointment open. I had to carry Charli inside the building and they took me and Charli to a room immediately. They brought careless, softness,tenderness to my Charli. They allowed Charli to stay I the room for 8.5hrs. Bloodwork was supposesupposed to to take two days, next thing I knew the lab was there picking up blood work to rush results that day. With X-rays and lab work, the results were not what I wanted to hear but it took the weight off my shoulders of knowing what the right thing to do was. I'm crushed and sad but they gave me comfort and went well beyond the call of duty to comfort me and Charli every step of the way. I owe the, a huge Bless You! Thanks so very much. RIP Charli! Giving my money to anyone sucks, was it expensive? Cost was told upfront, and I agreed. Remember I went to them for help and I knew dogs are not cheap. I live in the Houston Museum District and have always used a vet clinic in the Rice Village and always paid 3 times more for routine yearly vaccinations and pet meds. Recently my 16 year old Schnauzer had a nose bleed that my local vet clinic charged me a 500 dollar visit fee and wanted to charge 1600 dollars to do an Xray to confirm that he had a nasal tumor. Knowing that if this was the case and if it was confirmed that it was a nasal tumor my plan would be to keep my dog comfortable until we both knew it was his time to go. I decided to get a second opinion and chose this vet. I found all of the staff very friendly and honest. I found the Dr. to be very informed and honest and did not feel me full of false promises. The best case scenario was that my dog had an abscess tooth which she throughly checked and it was not the case. Knowing that I was faced with making the most difficult decision in my adult life I knew my dog would have a slow painful death with a constant nose bleed so I followed her advice and laid him to rest. I know now this was the best decision I could have made. The entire staff made this process so seamless. They also had his ashes packaged in a very nice mahogany urn along with a paw print with his name. All of this was at a fraction of the cost I would have paid in the Rice Village. It may be at least a 45 minute drive but I am willing to make the drive to not get ripped off just because of the real estate. Vanguard is very expensive and doesnt approve prescriptions for heartworm medications. Makes no sense since many heartworm medications require a prescriptions. Highly disappointed read more

Zero stars. Worst and most anxiety stricken experience ever... Long story short, Kathleen urged me to take my 16 year old Yorkie to Blue Pearl to get an ultra sound done due to her seeing his liver enlarged on her X-ray and because she wouldn't get more money out of me, refused to explain what the results meant leaving me heartbroken and confused for 48 hours after I read and tried to decipher for myself what the lab results meant when it read " carcinoma." What a classy joint. I did learn that she found the time, however, to call losing her mind to the ultra sound facility stating it wasn't her job to explain the results to me, but, rather, their job. WHO CARES WHOSE JOB IT IS?!? I called multiple times, text, voicemails with no response or explanation. Trash. Absolute. Trash. Oh and they're wildly overpriced. read more

The front staff is so friendly and always greet me and pet when we come in. Dr. Andrus never seems in a hurry to us out the door. She always comes in and spends lots of time explaining the hinges and listening to what I have to say. Would highly recommend Vanguard Veterinary Clinic. read more

Their favorite things to say is" the price will increase or " the price I quoted you is only good for a week and it will go up.". They take advantage of your particular situation and change the price. Every time I've come here there is always a price change on every treatment and meds!!! The owner is not in it to help pets. There aren't words sufficient to express our gratitude to Dr. Andrus and her team. We had to have our beloved dog of almost 14 years euthanized on an emergency basis. Not only were the accommodating, the were so kind and compassionate. Everything from working her in at the end of a long day to allowing close family to be present made an incredibly hard day, easier. The only regret I have is not discovering Dr. Andrus sooner! We spent too many years at a vet's office that was run like a corporation. Dr. Andrus is the real deal! read more

We've been using their mobile vaccination service for a few years now. I was so excited they opened a location down the street from us! They are open Mon-Fri from 9-6pm (I think that's correct). We walked right in and were helped immediately. Filled out a short form about my dog who was already in the system then they took us back a few minutes later. The waiting area is clean with a restroom and TV. The rooms are just like any other vet office. My dog needed his annual shots which costs $44 through them. We were in and out within 15 minutes which sure beats a regular vet and this was without an appointment. They do offer vet services as well and are very friendly. I usually go to their vet location in Cypress. Their vet as well as their vet techs are very kind and professional. They don't try to over price you and they take their time listening to you. The outside service when the clinic is closed is usually full, so come early. They have all the vaccines a pet needs including heart & worm treatment. I have two dogs, so they help me hold them when I'm there for their shots. Give them a chance. read more

andrus is definitely not a doctor/vet I would take any animal back to. She's more of an actor than a doctor, smile is more fake than a politicians promise. If you're looking for just shots the mobile clinic will probably come closer to your home, but if you're looking for actual care they are a dozen of other clinics nearby. read more
