My baby anakin got into a fight with his older sister a few days ago and against my better judgment, I didn't take him to the vet. He was playing and eating just fine so I thought I'd give it a few days, but as time progressed, it started to get infected. This morning he was limping so I picked him up and he cried so I knew something was wrong. I wasn't aware the urgency until I contacted the kind and patient ladies behind the desk at this clinic, who informed me that cat fights, especially with kittens are not something you can wait on if they get hurt. I was fortunate enough to get him seen 30 minutes later and thanks to the wonderful staff and veterinarians my sweet boy already feels better! Just got home from putting the most perfect dog to sleep. Is that the outcome I wanted? No. But this is the best veterinarian practice you will ever find. I have been coming here for years, with so many different dogs. Sometimes it's good news, sometimes it's not. But the doctors and staff are perfect professionals. There is no judgment! They give you your options and trust you to make good decisions. There are zero Karens in this place. I cannot recommend them highly enough. I'll put it this way: this is the BEST business in Waller, Texas. Not just the best veterinarian. Better than Ace Hardware. Better than Cielito. Better than Daikin. Better than Tractor Supply. I had to take a few days to gather my thoughts, and wrap my head around what is now my shattered reality. I brought my baby in, with hope and a prayer that she'd be helped and maybe she'd still be here today. Tini was a spitfire and picked a fight with a larger dog, and although Tini never whimpered I knew something was wrong once she stopped eating, started peeing excessively and shaking, she hadn't pooped since this incident..I also noticed her ears, paws and body were cold... she'd look at me with her big eyes as if she were asking for me to help her. I brought her to NVC (Waller) crying and relayed all this to the Vet. They performed a parvo test- (although she hadn't used the restroom in days) it also hurt her, she screamed the loudest scream I've ever heard. And an X-ray that determined she had broken a rib and constipation.(no obstruction) I trusted what I was told, and that she were being helped, I hoped and prayed she were being helped (despite my gut telling me different.) Im not rich but I would've given my own kidney if possible, if it meant saving her... The next day when she went poop it was black, and she seemed to be in worse pain (falling over, shaking). I called panicked and was assured that it were normal with a break and I could pick pain medicine up the next day... the next day never came... I watched her suffer and it will probably be one of the most horrific things I've ever experienced. This was a puppy that I had since birth, bottle fed and we were inseparable from the start. Tini waited till I got up to use the restroom before sitting up slightly to watch me leave and when I returned she took her last breath. I never understood people who were so broken over an animal before, but I do now... Tini was more than a Dog to me, she was my best-friend. She was like a child to me, a light at a once very dark tunnel. I did everything I was told to do, and if I knew she would suffer I would've made a difficult but humane decision....I could never replace her, or forget her, I'm left with so many questions and what if's, and why's? I'm in no way saying NVC is a bad place to bring a loved one, because they've saved another Dog of mine Ace, and for that I'll forever be grateful. But I went from updates and calls with Ace (Nederland location) and nothing with Tini.... Im left wondering if a blood test were taken if she'd be here today. or if they had even taken a little more time assessing her, that maybe they would have caught the reason she's no longer here now, And she wouldn't have suffered so bad. The entire night prior to her passing, I woke up to give her liquid calories, liquids...I was told to give her an enema which i had prior: But I knew i was losing her... I called the emergency line over and over and it would ring once and it'd hang up. I didn't sleep at all that night, and as soon as the kids got up for school, I planned on bolting to the clinic....But that never happened... Tini, my best friend passed away 2 days after our Visit, and I so wish I had protested for her just a little more...this has been one of the most heart wrenching /devastating experiences of my life. read more

Very friendly staff. Very good with fitting me in for an appointment even when they are busy. Very good little hometown clinic and Dr Woodley has been wonderful. Has a nice relaxed atmosphere. We have two ranch dogs we inherited with a property that are old and have a lot of issues and we brought our dog when we moved here and unfortunately get dumped dogs because we live at the end of a country road. Dropped by to get one scanned and they were so good with him. Have decided to keep this last one abd shes getting the works by them. This clinic is friendly, accommodating, has a bit of great small town hospitality and has fair prices they are up front about and will work with you on to see what is fitting for the time being. We now have 4 large dogs and this place has become our official clinic. They are also wonderful about follow up calls with information. I give this place 5 stars! The receptionist that answered the phone was rude. I was trying to make an appointment for my dog that had surgery last week to get his bandages change. She smirked and rudely said they were short on doctors. That it wouldn't be anytime soon. I understand if they are understaff but she did not have to relate her work frustration of short staff to me. I have been to the Nederland location and their customer service is amazing. Perhaps, this individual needs to call them as a customer and learn what good customer service is. read more

Have used Dr. Bockhorn and Dr. Woodley for many years and they are great, however, will never take another animal here. They were recently purchased by NVC and it's not the same. One of our dogs is on thyroid medication which is normally very cheap but since the office is now NVC we were informed we could ONLY PURCHASE MEDICATIONS through NVC - no matter the price. The medication they sell is over 50% more expensive than any other place but if you want it you have to pay their price, this seems like a huge conflict of interest. Kind of like your medical doctor forcing you to buy medication from them instead of CVS or WalMart where it is cheaper. Sorry but will immediately begin looking for another vet for my animals and I am so sad to leave but can't support such shoddy business practices. read more

Dr. Buckthorne and staff are awesome! We are new to this clinic and they have made us feel very welcome. Dr. Buckthorne takes the time to explain everything. He saw our concern and did his best to put us at ease. Because of how sick she is he did not want to lift her on the table and cause her anymore pain or stress, to see him get on his hands and knees to check her out and take blood, was pretty awesome. He truly cares about his patients and their families. She rewarded him with a lick on the nose and a wag of the tail. We have taken our two bassets two Waller Veterinary Clinic for the past three years. Dr. Buckhorn is an outstanding Vet. On thanksgiving eve, our four year old basset, Toby, had leg injury resulting in a swollen and bleeding ankle joint. I called Waller Veterinary Clinic Thanksgiving morning. They were closed. A recording gave their normal hours and the phone number of an emergency clinic forty miles from our house. There was nothing on the recording to indicate when they would reopen. I understand them being closed on Thanksgiving. I decided to bandage toby's leg and take him Friday. Again on Friday, closed with same recording. I decided to try Saturday and if they were still closed, go to my Daughter's Vet in Houston. I called Saturday morning and they were open. They refused to work Toby in and said they would not see him unless someone cancelled an appointment. Waller Veterinary Clinic seems more interested in making money than giving care to their loyal customers. They close at noon on Saturday and there was no way they would stay open a few minutes late to care for and injured dog.
